Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Confrontation with the Python

"If one day you die here alone, I wouldn't be surprised at all."

Harry looked at the python behind the glass, saying softly with empathy.

In such a confined space, it had to face a group of stupid fellows every day, who kept tapping on the glass, trying to wake up the sleeping python.

This made Harry involuntarily think of himself living under the stairs, waking up every morning to Aunt Penny's shouting, and then going to make breakfast for the family.

However, at least he could move around the house and go to school, while this python might be stuck in this small cage forever.

Suddenly, the python, which had been sleeping with its eyes closed, opened its bright little eyes and slowly raised its head until it was level with Harry's eyes.

Looking at the python staring back at him through the glass, Harry involuntarily held his breath.

The python blinked at Harry.

Harry was shocked; this python seemed to understand what he was saying.

He quickly scanned his surroundings to see if anyone was paying attention to him.

Then, he turned back to the giant python and blinked back at it.

"I always encounter a lot of stupid humans."

The python slowly said, flicking its tongue.

Harry gasped and quickly said, "I know, you must be very annoyed by those stupid humans, right?"

The giant python nodded vigorously.

Harry was overjoyed; he could actually talk to a python, and it could even understand him—it was truly amazing.

For a moment, he even felt that this python was his long-lost friend.

"So, where are you from?" Harry quickly asked.

Having a friend to talk to felt so great; it seemed like the whole world didn't matter at that moment, and there was only Harry and this python.

The giant python flicked its tail against the small sign on the glass window.

Python, Brazil.

"How is it over there?" Harry asked with high spirits.

The giant python hit the small sign on the glass window again with its tail: "zoo bred specimen."

"Oh, I see, you've never been to Brazil... Actually, I've never seen my parents either, they..."

Before Harry could finish his sentence, a deafening shout suddenly came from not far away, startling both Harry and the giant python.

"Dudley, Dudley, come quick, come see this python, you'd never guess what it's doing!!!"

Piers shouted loudly.

He had just seen Harry talking to that python, which was truly amazing.

Thump.

Piers, who rushed over, directly knocked Harry flying, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Although Piers himself was scrawny, he was much stronger than Harry.

In the distance, Dudley watched all of this with a frown.

He had also just seen Harry seemingly talking to the giant python in the glass enclosure; this was nothing, children always talked nonsense to animals.

But what surprised Dudley was that the giant python was actually responding to Harry; the human and the snake seemed to be communicating in some mysterious language.

Originally, Dudley was about to activate his Spirit Vision to observe properly, but Piers' sudden appearance disrupted everything.

Dudley frowned and walked over.

This Piers, he had already told him not to bully Harry anymore, yet he still knocked Harry flying. It seemed he needed to give him a clear warning.

Harry, who had been knocked to the ground, looked angrily at Piers, who was sprawled on the glass enclosure; he felt like he was about to explode with rage, with a desire to jump up and beat the fellow without caring about the consequences, which almost made him lose his mind.

"It's amazing, this is truly amazing, this python actually understands human speech, oh my god!"

Piers was overjoyed, constantly shifting as he sprawled on the glass, trying to get closer to the giant python inside to observe what was so magical about it.

Buzz!

Suddenly, just then, the glass in front of Piers directly disappeared, causing Piers, who was sprawled on the glass, to lose his balance and tumble directly into the enclosure.

Splash, Piers plunged headfirst into the pool inside, splashing a large amount of water.

"Hmm?"

Dudley's expression changed.

He watched the vanished glass in shock, unable to react for a moment.

"What's going on? How did that glass suddenly disappear? What exactly happened?"

Dudley was astonished.

At this moment, he even had the illusion that he had returned to that strange world.

But everything here was completely different from that world.

"Ah ah ah..."

Frightened screams came.

Piers, who had a close encounter with the giant python, was now scared out of his wits.

Letting him admire the python from outside the enclosure and letting him have zero-distance contact with the python were two completely different concepts.

Hiss...

The giant python flicked its tongue and didn't spare a glance at Piers, who had fallen in, but quickly extended its body out of the railing, slithered out, and moved towards the fallen Harry.

"Watch out!"

Seeing this, Dudley didn't have time to think and quickly quickened his pace.

Although this python seemed to bear no ill will towards Harry, who knew what a python might do? Harry's small frame couldn't withstand a python's tossing around.

As an extraordinary person, Dudley's physique was already enhanced, and the Arbitrator possessed relatively excellent combat abilities, which made his reaction speed much faster than ordinary people.

With a stride, Dudley directly rushed in front of Harry, blocking the python.

Hiss hiss...

The giant python flicked its crimson tongue, gazing at Dudley.

And Dudley coldly stared at the giant python, the gazes of one snake and one human confronting each other in mid-air.

At this moment, Harry was completely frozen in place due to fright.

The angry emotions, the suddenly disappearing glass, the approaching giant python, and the rushing Dudley—all of this overwhelmed him.

"Scram."

Dudley spoke coldly, his authoritative language making the python perceive a strong sense of danger.

This seemingly chubby human child in front of him seemed to possess a power that made it feel fear.

Dudley clenched his fists, muscles tensed; if the Arbitrator's authority couldn't force back this python, then he would have to prepare for a close-quarters fight.

Fortunately, the Arbitrator had granted him combat abilities, and his experiences in that strange world had made him very experienced, so he was not afraid of such combat situations; in fact, he even felt a bit excited.

The giant python hesitated for a moment, moved its body, and slithered away to the side, no longer confronting Dudley.

As it passed not far from Harry, the giant python looked at Harry.

"Thank you."

Harry understood its words and subconsciously said, "You're welcome."

"Be careful of this human."

The python's bright eyes swept in Dudley's direction; this was its final advice to the little boy who helped it escape its cage.
