Dudley was slightly startled.
The Gypsy girl in front of him was dressed very strangely.
She wore a long black dress with many bulging pockets, a tall purple pointed hat, and deep blue eyes, with decorations on her body that had strong Gypsy characteristics.
"Fortune-telling?" Dudley subconsciously replied.
"Yes, are you interested?" the Gypsy girl continued to ask in a hoarse voice.
Dudley felt a little dazed, almost thinking he had returned to that world where oddities ran rampant.
"Seeing as you're my first customer today, I can give you a free reading," the Gypsy girl said, blinking her deep blue eyes.
She seemed very interested in this chubby little boy in front of her.
"Free?" Dudley smiled faintly and asked, "What do you use for your fortune-telling?"
"tarot."
The Gypsy girl replied.
"Alright then."
Dudley nodded, his interest piqued.
"Please follow me."
The Gypsy girl led Dudley towards a tent not far away, a makeshift fortune-telling booth.
Dudley didn't hesitate and followed the Gypsy girl inside.
He wasn't afraid of her playing any tricks.
The light inside the tent was very dim, with only a burning candle illuminating a limited area.
Dudley looked around; the place was filled with various items used for fortune-telling: crystal balls, tarot, fortune-telling books, and so on…
"Is there anything you'd like to ask?" the Gypsy girl asked.
Dudley thought for a moment and said, "Past, present, future."
Hearing Dudley's words, the Gypsy girl's deep blue eyes narrowed slightly, and she said in a low, hoarse voice, "Oh, I thought you'd ask something else, like what job I'll have in the future, or how to get a beloved game console."
Dudley shrugged, noncommittal.
If he were truly an ordinary little boy, he might have asked that.
"Then… let's begin."
As the Gypsy girl finished speaking, she took out a deck of tarot from a pocket in her black dress and began to shuffle and cut the cards.
Watching the skillful operation before him, Dudley took a slight breath, recalling the scene of drawing cards the first time he attended that gathering.
"Now, you can start drawing cards; the first card represents the past, the second represents the present, and the third represents the future."
As soon as the Gypsy girl finished speaking, Dudley raised his hand and drew a card from the cut tarot, placing it on the left. Then he drew another, placing it in the middle, and finally the last one on the right.
"Oh, so, which one would you like to see first?" the Gypsy girl's deep blue eyes looked at Dudley, seemingly filled with some mysterious magic.
"Let's look at the past first."
Dudley said.
"As you wish."
As the Gypsy girl finished speaking, she turned over the first tarot on the left.
"The Emperor."
Seeing the card, Dudley almost blurted it out.
"That's right, it seems you know a little about tarot. This is a Major Arcana card from tarot, The Emperor."
Dudley looked at the familiar card, and in a trance, it was as if he saw the bronze long table.
That time, the card he turned over was also The Emperor.
Therefore, his code name was also The Emperor.
"Oh, however, this emperor card is reversed, interesting…" The Gypsy girl looked at the card, just about to start explaining its meaning.
Dudley reached out and directly flipped over the card on the far right, the one representing the future.
"Judgment!"
Looking at the card, Dudley spoke softly.
"Oh, another Major Arcana card."
The Gypsy girl said.
"The Emperor, Judgment, interesting…"
Dudley murmured softly to himself.
Aren't these the two tarot that correspond to the path he is currently on?
Bang!
Just then, a loud bang came, and someone burst into the fortune-telling tent.
"Oh, Dada, darling, are you alright?"
Petunia's panicked voice quickly followed.
"What are you doing? Stay away from my son!"
"You bunch of lunatics, monsters."
Vernon yelled, pulling Dudley away while also knocking over the fortune-telling table.
The tarot scattered everywhere, and Dudley glanced at them, no longer able to tell which card represented the present.
"I'm fine, Dad, she was just doing a fortune-telling for me, it was quite interesting."
Spiritual energy spread with Dudley's words, and Vernon, who had been furious, softened his expression considerably.
At the same time, Dudley blinked, activating his spiritual vision.
The Gypsy girl in front of him became much clearer, and various colors began to appear on her body, showing no difference from ordinary people.
However, Dudley quickly noticed that deep within the Gypsy girl's soul, a peculiar energy seemed to be surging.
He had seen this kind of energy on Harry before.
"What is that…"
Dudley was filled with doubt.
"Oh, you're fine… It's good that you're fine, it's good, I thought…" Vernon quickly said.
"Sir, I just felt a connection with this child and offered him a free reading; I had no other intentions."
The Gypsy girl looked at the overturned fortune-telling table and said with a frown.
"Sorry, we were rash."
Dudley retracted his spiritual vision and spoke up.
"It's fine, you can go."
The Gypsy girl seemed unwilling to say more, waving her hand to signal Dudley and the others to leave quickly.
Dudley nodded and led his parents out of the fortune-telling booth.
"Dudley, are you alright? I saw that strange woman taking you to that booth and thought you'd been kidnapped," Piers said immediately upon seeing Dudley.
"I'm fine, it was just a fortune-telling."
Dudley said casually.
Not far away, Harry saw Dudley return safely, and a hint of disappointment showed in his eyes.
The fortune-telling incident was just a small interlude in their zoo trip, and everyone else quickly put it out of their minds.
Soon, everyone entered the zoo together to admire various strange animals.
Dudley followed his family with great interest, walking among the exhibits, and although he tried his best to appear excited, the two tarot, The Emperor and Judgment, still flashed in his mind from time to time.
At the same time, he was also pondering what that surging energy deep within the Gypsy girl's soul was.
This energy didn't seem to be something everyone possessed; at least, he hadn't seen it in his parents or others.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but look in Harry's direction.
Deep within Harry's soul, a similar energy also seemed to be surging, though it was much smaller compared to the Gypsy girl's energy.
Dudley's gaze quickly found Harry; he was standing in front of a huge glass wall, and behind that glass, a giant python was slowly slithering.
And Harry seemed to be saying something to that python.
