Chapter 25: God of Chaos - His Godhead Will Be Complete, Entering the Ocean

Although not deified at the time, Gaia, the Earth Goddess, was aware of everything, walking across the land.

She could sense what Uranus, the Sky God, was planning.

She looked at Pontus, the Ocean God, with tenderness in her eyes: "My child, Chaos has endowed us with different divine powers. Whatever power we possess is determined by fate and cannot be changed."

"Uranus is the Sky God, the embodiment of the sky. He controls the sky, so he naturally cannot control the ocean. You are the Ocean God, you control the ocean, so you naturally cannot control the sky."

"I understand, Mother Goddess. I believe you." Pontus, the Ocean God, nodded slightly, a hint of contemplation in his blue eyes.

He continued, "Mother Goddess, could you tell me about the other gods? In particular, I'd like to know more about Tartarus, the God of the Abyss."

"No problem. This time, I entered the ocean to tell you my story with the gods, as well as the stories I knew before your birth," said Gaia, the Earth Goddess.

Then, she began to recount the past...

Night merged into the abyss.

Nyx and Tartarus returned to the hall deep within the abyss.

Nyx, the Night Goddess, said, "The amount of divine power stolen this time wasn't much, much less than that of the Sky God. This Ocean God seems easier to get along with than Uranus."

"On the surface, he seems easy to get along with." A slight smile played at the corner of Tartarus's mouth.

In the future, this seemingly honest first-generation Sea God will give his brother a surprise.

"My dear, are you saying he's not what he appears to be?" Night Goddess Nyx heard a hidden meaning in Tartarus' words.

"I'm still unsure. I need to learn more to understand this deity's true situation, but minimal contact is best. None of Sister Gaia's children are simple," Tartarus said.

"I'll keep an eye on it." A thoughtful look flashed in the eyes of the Night Goddess, Nyx.

She trusted Tartarus because every important thing he'd said had come true.

At this moment, she remembered something else and looked at Tartarus. "Your memory isn't confused this time. Is it because your strength has increased, and your ability to suppress the source of chaos has become stronger, so it wasn't disturbed?"

"Not really." Tartarus looked at the Night Goddess, his expression becoming serious. "Nyx, you've become my woman, and now I'm going to tell you the truth."

The God of Chaos's godhood is nearing full completion. Once he achieves the status of the God of Chaos, this clearly represents a powerful divine authority, and it's highly likely that all the gods will know about it.

There's no point in continuing to hide it.

After a pause, Tartarus said, "First, I need to apologize. I told two lies. First, the Chaos Origin didn't harm me. In fact, it helped me become stronger."

"Second, my memories have never been confused. I can't explain why, but I know something about the future that you don't."

"I apologize again, my Nyx. I hid it from you. I believe that deception shouldn't exist between lovers, so I'm telling you the truth now."

Hearing these words, the Night Goddess Nyx didn't show any surprise. Instead, a look of happiness and relief appeared in her eyes, as if a heavy burden had been lifted.

This, in turn, puzzled Tartarus.

Nyx gave a playful and alluring smile. "I don't blame you. After all, we weren't in love back then, so it's normal to be wary of each other. I was wary of you, too. I deceived you."

"The first lie. The Chaos Essence that Night injected into the Abyss contained the very essence of Night. So I knew you weren't suppressing it, but rather absorbing it directly into the Abyss."

"Because the very essence that belonged to the laws of Night was also devoured and dissolved by you, I lost control, and all that remained was yours."

"This power of the Abyss terrifies me. So, I deceived you. I said all the Chaos Essence was injected into the Abyss, but in reality, I retained half of Night's Chaos Essence."

"No primordial deity is simple. It seems Erebus and Gaia may be the same, just a tacit understanding!" Nyx's words reminded Tartarus of the other two primordial deities.

Nyx continued, "The second lie is that night and darkness are not substantial. Our essences are far inferior to the earth and the abyss, and we are not powerful. But our reach exceeds that of the abyss, the earth, and even the sky."

"So, while Erebus and I possess powerful divine consciousness, I'm not sure if it surpasses yours, but I can keenly sense that yours hasn't fluctuated, and you haven't experienced any memory loss."

"After so long, I'm certain you were truly speaking of future events. I've merely feigned ignorance."

After hearing this, Tartarus felt somewhat relieved. Both sides had concealed secrets, and they had also been mutually supportive, so it was a draw.

"As expected of the future goddess of night, who will not fear the mightiest god, Zeus. From her early appearance, curious about everything, I should have known she wasn't just a simple, cute, and naive girl. She was more astute than I imagined," Tartarus thought.

Nyx continued, "I want to apologize, too, my dear. I've wanted to tell you this for a long time, but I was afraid you'd be angry if you heard it, so I held it in for a long time. Now that I've said it, I feel much better."

Nyx then sat sideways in Tartarus's arms. "This is beautiful. We've confessed our lies to each other, and from now on, all we have left is trust."

"Yes, I feel relieved now," Tartarus smiled.

It was indeed much easier. He hadn't felt any psychological burden lying to other gods, but now, lying to Nyx, he felt the burden.

After all, Nyx had always been by his side, helping him.

At this moment, Tartarus thought of something and said, "Since there's still so much Chaos Essence within the Night, which might harm you but help me, then just inject it directly into the Abyss!"

"That's right," Nyx said. "That's exactly what I was thinking. I've long since abandoned those pesky Chaos Essences. They'll only breed more Chaos Essence, completely useless to the Night and only hinder my growth."

As she spoke, the Night scattered across the world above the Abyss descended and merged once again into the Abyss.

Then, the Chaos Essence present in all the Night was poured into the Abyss without reservation...

The Night wasn't material, its true form wasn't strong. For Nyx, this was a large amount of Chaos Essence, but it wasn't actually much.

After several days, after Tartarus completely devoured the Chaos Essence that the Night had injected into the Abyss, the Chaos Godhead's integrity reached 99%, almost reaching full capacity.

Then, he left the Abyss and entered the ocean...
