Chapter 16: The Beginning of the Divine Conflict, the Elemental Gods 2
Suddenly, the Chaos Source surged forth.
The Chaos Source, as dark as ink, flowed and enveloped Tartarus's devouring clone, exuding a powerful aura of destruction.
Like the most potent toxin, it instantly corroded the clothes conjured from Tartarus's divine power.
Later, the Chaos Source continued to corrode his divine body.
The Goddess of Night, the Mother Earth, and the God of Sky instinctively retreated.
"Brother Tartarus! Can't you suppress the Chaos Source?" Nyx, the Goddess of Night, said anxiously.
She had experienced the damage the Chaos Source could inflict on Night's true form, so she knew.
As she spoke, she controlled Night to form claws of night, seizing the Chaos Source enveloping Tartarus's body and attempting to carry him away.
At the same time, the earth and rock beneath Tartarus's feet rose, and Mother Earth, Gaia, stepped in to help.
Uranus, the God of the Sky, showed a cautious expression.
This mere drop of Chaos Origin already made him sense the danger hundreds of times greater than the previous drop. Thinking back to the vast extent of the previous drop, if the sky had received it, he would have been severely damaged.
"No need!" Tartarus raised his hand to stop him.
His words were garbled and unclear: "The earth has bumps and depressions, oceans, mountains, rivers, the sky, the sun, the moon..."
He stopped mid-sentence.
"Whoosh!" Tartarus quickly devoured the surging Chaos Origin, absorbing it into his body.
He channeled his divine power, once again transforming into divine power clothing.
"I consumed a bit too much Chaos Origin just now, and the collision with Uranus's divine consciousness interfered with my Devouring Divine Body." Tartarus said, "It's all right now."
"Brother Tartarus, your memory is confused again. What are rivers, sun, and moon?" Nyx, the Goddess of Night, asked in confusion.
"Are you talking about the gods that will be born in the future?" At this point, the Sky God, Uranus, spoke in confusion.
Although he wasn't a primordial god, as the first son of the world, he was the future world's most powerful king of gods.
What Chaos had bestowed upon him was even greater than that of the primordial gods.
He still possessed divine powers that had yet to be activated.
After Tartarus finished speaking these "chaotic" words, the Sky God felt an inexplicable sense of something.
Tartarus was speaking of the future!
The damage to Tartarus's divine body, caused by the corrosion, quickly healed.
"I've consumed too much Chaos Essence, and now I can't suppress it. I need to inject this Chaos Essence into the Abyss to suppress it."
Tartarus ignored the Sky God, Uranus, and continued his own words.
He looked at Gaia. "My apologies, sister. I can't stay to celebrate the birth of our nephew Uranus. I need to return to the Abyss."
"Go back quickly! Once you've regained your composure, we'll go thank you for your help," said Gaia, the Earth Mother, softly.
"I'll take you back to Brother Tartarus. Goodbye, Sister Gaia." Nyx, the Night Goddess, ignored the Sky God.
Her body vanished into the night, and darkness enveloped Tartarus.
The two gods soared rapidly toward the ends of the earth...
It was sensed that Nyx, the Night Goddess, and Tartarus, the God of the Abyss, had completely left the earth.
At the same time, the strange gods hiding in the distance were no longer on earth.
Uranus, the Sky God, looked at Gaia, the Earth Mother, and said, "Mother, you shouldn't believe the words of the Abyss God. I feel some of his words are false."
"No, darkness and night cannot be trusted, but I believe in Tartarus," Gaia, the Earth Mother, said earnestly.
She looked at the Sky God tenderly and said, "Uranus, my child, listen to my story with Tartarus!"
Then she recounted the long past, after Tartarus' birth, when he had received her source of chaos.
Then he continued, describing how the Abyss absorbed the Chaos Essence from the two gods of Dark Night. If not for the sudden birth of the Sky God, Tartarus would have continued to absorb the Earth's Chaos Essence after Dark Night...
After hearing the story, Sky God Uranus insisted, saying, "Mother Goddess, don't believe appearances. When my thoughts collided with the Abyss God's, I sensed some of the Abyss's essence."
"Have you ever considered this? The sky and earth are composed mostly of life essence, while the Abyss may be composed mostly of Chaos Essence. It's even possible that the Abyss was born from Chaos Essence."
"You grow faster because of the massive outflow of Chaos Essence. The Abyss absorbs so much Chaos Essence and yet grows, which means that Chaos Essence poses little threat to the Abyss."
"He's not trying to help you. It's because his true self needs Chaos Essence. He I deceived you."
"Impossible." The gentleness faded from Earth Mother Gaia's face, and she said in a deep voice, "When the Abyss was born, it was as large as the Earth. My strength is only slightly stronger than Tartarus's."
"Now I am far stronger than him. This is because my Chaos Essence has decreased, allowing me to grow faster. He has too much Chaos Essence, which has hampered his growth."
"Uranus, the sky is immensely vast, surpassing the Abyss, surpassing the Earth, and controlling half of the Chaos world. You are the Sky itself, and you should embrace its broad mind."
"You shouldn't doubt Tartarus. He has sacrificed so much for us. Especially this time, if he hadn't devoured the Chaos Essence, you would have suffered greatly."
Seeing the anger in Earth Mother Gaia's eyes, Sky God Uranus felt a surge of rage, but he suppressed it.
"Alright! Mother Goddess is right." Uranus nodded.
In his heart, he thought, "The sky controls half of the Chaos world. My limit will also exceed all of you gods. In the future, my power will surpass all of you."
"By then, the sky will also cover the abyss and control the entire world. Tartarus, others may not be able to sense it, but I know you are a liar. You may be chaos itself."
...
Nyx, the goddess of night, quickly returned to the abyss with Tartarus.
"Afterwards, I may fall into a deep sleep to digest and suppress the source of chaos. Sister Nyx, and brother Erebus, it is best not to go to the earth during this time."
Tartarus glanced at Nyx, then at the darkness behind her.
The figure of Erebus, the god of darkness, then appeared. He said calmly, "I understand. This new god is too powerful. I sense danger."
"Brother Tartarus, we will wait for you to wake up. We will not go to the earth during this time. I hate the sky," replied Nyx, the goddess of night.
"Okay, goodbye, my brother and sister."
With that, Tartarus's Devouring Clone lay down, falling into the abyss. In an instant, it reappeared at the deepest point, beyond the reach of any divine being.
The Chaos Origin that had just overflowed was intentional. Successfully deceiving three gods at once had significantly increased the integrity of his deceptive godhood.
But the truth was, he was truly unable to suppress the Chaos Origin within his body.
The Devouring Divine Body wasn't the Abyss, merely early-stage, intermediate divine power, and was also being continuously damaged by the Chaos Origin.
It was only the devouring divine energy that delayed this damage, which had already reached its limit.
In the abyss, a swirling black hole appeared behind the Devouring Clone, and a vast amount of Chaos Origin continued to flow into the abyss.
While digesting and integrating the Chaos Origin, Tartarus noticed several more pages of text appearing in the Book of Creation.
