Chapter 9 – Misfortune Descends, Identity Exposed (Part 2)

"What?"

The Earth Goddess Ximi was shocked; the words escaped her lips before she could stop herself.

Almost immediately, she regretted speaking.

Brahma was the Creator God—everything he did was unquestionable, and it was not for mortals or even other gods to presume or speculate.

Having spent three thousand years alongside Fanan, Ximi had gradually understood some of the ways of the world.

"Please, great Sage Moriqi, return and inform the Creator God Brahma that both I and Goddess Ximi will attend the ceremony," Fanan said quickly."May Brahma and the Goddess of Eloquence be blessed, and may the greatest celestial wedding in the universe be gloriously celebrated."

Fanan's words offered blessings to Brahma and the Goddess of Eloquence with sincerity. It was precisely this statement that improved Moriqi's mood.

"We look forward to the attendance of Goddess Ximi and Lord Fanan. I shall take my leave now."

Moriqi transformed into a rainbow of light and vanished from Mount Sumeru.

"Did I say something wrong, my love?"

Ximi looked at Fanan with the expression of a guilty child, as if pleading for her beloved's forgiveness.

(In Indian mythology, even the highest-ranking goddess would honor her man above all else. Even if her man gave her away, she would not object. Strange as it seems, that is how it is—do not argue!)

"It's fine. The great Brahma will not hold it against you," Fanan comforted her.Yet in his heart, he silently scoffed.Brahma's mind was smaller than an ant's, and of course he would hold grudges.

But that did not matter.

Ximi had long been noted in Brahma's little notebook—she was fated to perish in the Primordial Tribulation.

Now, however, she was Fanan's friend, and their three-thousand-year yoga bond meant he needed to carefully plan to help her survive this calamity.

(In Indian mythology, the Primordial Tribulation is Brahma's cleansing of the Primordial Element Gods.)

"Do we have to attend Brahma's… disgusting wedding?" Ximi asked.

Fanan sighed helplessly.

In looks, in yoga skill, in the intricacies of her yoni, Ximi was unmatched across the three thousand realms.Yet her straightforward, blunt temper always worried Fanan.

She really was too direct.

Could this be a disgusting wedding? Clearly… it was a great celestial marriage.

"All gods will attend the wedding of Creator God Brahma. If we do not, it would seem antisocial. Naturally, we must go and pay tribute," Fanan said."The great Shiva and Vishnu will also appear—hehe…"

Fanan's words carried a subtle warning.

"But I really… hate it," Ximi began.

"Hmm~"

Seeing Ximi about to mock Brahma, Fanan would not allow himself to be implicated—he silenced her immediately.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

Although Brahma's creation had begun to populate the realms with life, the universe remained vast and empty, lacking the unique vitality of living beings.

At the highest level of the thousand celestial realms, the Brahma Realm stood supreme.

All the immortals and gods of the Primordial Brahma Era gathered there for Brahma's wedding with the Goddess of Eloquence, Saroshivadi.

Dozens of immortals and over a thousand gods were present.

The immortals had been nurtured into existence by Brahma's supreme, majestic power.Of the thousand gods, three-tenths were elemental gods spontaneously generated by the universe, each radiating immense divine power befitting their rank.

The remaining seven-tenths were the descendants of the life-givers across the universe.

Following Brahma's instructions, these immortals transformed into various forms and procreated, giving rise to all manner of cow, horse, and serpent gods.

This was because divine procreation was different from mortals—it required vast amounts of time.Otherwise, in three thousand years, far more than six or seven hundred gods would have been born.

Even the three-thousand-year yoga of Fanan and Ximi did not result in any offspring.Such is the magnitude of the life-givers' power.

The role of life-givers was to infuse the three thousand realms with vitality—and how do they do that? Naturally, by creating life.

This period, the Primordial Brahma Era, was the prelude to the great divine birth explosion. One life-giver could produce 140 million beings in just ten years.

Fanan and Ximi arrived at the Brahma Realm, and Life-Giver Dasha immediately greeted them.

"Welcome, respected Great Earth Sovereign, and Lord of Consciousness. We are honored that you could attend the wedding.""To witness the celestial marriage of Creator God Brahma is the honor of myself and the Lord of Consciousness."

Clearly, Ximi's words had been taught by Fanan before they arrived.

"Once again, thank you, Great Earth Sovereign and Lord of Consciousness. Please, follow me into the hall," Dasha said, guiding them into a sacred palace, already filled with immortals and gods who had arrived early.

After exchanging a few words, Dasha left—they were not the only guests. He personally welcomed them because of Ximi's status as a Primordial Element God.

The Earth Goddess Ximi was one of the five elemental rulers of the three thousand realms, her rank second only to the Trinity, above other elemental gods.

As for Fanan? If he hadn't come with Ximi, Dasha would not have spared a single word for him.

Though thousands of gods and immortals had been born, the boost to Fanan's consciousness power was less than one percent of a Primordial Element God's.

Fanan was patient. After the Primordial Tribulation, when the divine birth frenzy began, his consciousness power would advance to Consciousness Authority.

"Greetings, beautiful Earth Goddess Ximi."

At that moment, a handsome, imposing man, crowned and holding a scepter, approached them.

"Lady Ximi, your beauty is the most enchanting I have ever seen. Allow me to kiss your right hand."

Ximi instinctively glanced at Fanan. Seeing the slight displeasure in his eyes, she rebuked him:

"Dayus, put away your wicked thoughts, or I will shatter your crown."

Her tone was icy, her eyes flashing with the pride of the great Earth Sovereign.

As a fellow Primordial Element God, Ximi was not inferior to Dayus, the Sky God.

She allowed Dayus to be crowned God-King because she did not seek power or rivalry.Besides, her heart was already devoted to serving Fanan, to be a proper companion.

Whoosh—

All eyes turned toward them, leaving the embarrassed Sky God Dayus utterly mortified.

Although he had not yet formally ascended to the God-King seat, it was implicitly recognized as his position.

Being scolded in front of all those eyes made his face fall.He was furious, but he could not act rashly—after all, today belonged to Creator God Brahma.

Seeing Fanan, Dayus's expression shifted to a playful smile. He had sensed Fanan's true nature.

"Ah, you must be the God of Consciousness, lover of the Great Earth Sovereign? No wonder you are the first life of the Primordial Brahma Era
