ROSALEE
Ding! Ding! DING! I opened my eyes as my alarm started going off.
I checked the time as I sat up. "Hey Doris….shut up." Doris stops ringing and I rub my face, regretting not going to sleep earlier.
Half asleep, I stood up and started to get ready for school. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and did my makeup.
When I realized I was human again I was already in first class. The class was loud, too loud for it to be 7:00 am in the morning.
"Class, get out your notes from yesterday." Mrs. Anderson says as she begins to do attendance.
People talking and saying "here" filled the room as I grabbed my binder.
I had ended up falling asleep during Mrs. Anderson's class, and she was giving us notes on mythology.
When the bell rung I saw Deshon and David in the hallway.
I was going to tell Deshon how I got no sleep and missed Mrs. Anderson's notes because I fell asleep but then Ashley pulled my arm.
"Are you going to the Halloween party?" Ashley asked as she put her notes paper back into her folder.
Ashley and I had been friends since the beginning of this year, she had moved here from Florida after her parents divorced.
And we became friends. Our personalities were kinda alike however we also have all our classes together so we got pretty close.
"Umm…" I looked down, not wanting to go to any parties since I was going to be with Deshon and David on Halloween.
"I don't know, it depends on who's going. Are you going?" I ask as I put my backpack straps around my shoulders "Of course I am.
Apparently everyone is." Ashley says with a big smile on her face
. She had been talking about her Halloween costume since her birthday. In August! "Are you still gonna wear that cat costume?"
I ask as I open my locker, Ashley was standing against the locker next to me.
"Ugh no. Riley had picked the same one as me and then said I was 'copying her '. Ashley put quotation marks with her fingers as she said "copying her" which made me giggle since Ashley also mocked Riley's voice.
She's not very good at voice impressions but it's funny how she does it.
"So what are you going to go as?" I ask as I close my locker and look at Ashley.
She grins at me and puts a strand of hair behind her ear. "It's a secret" She says. I chuckle and roll my eyes.
"So basically you don't know yet?" Ashley's grin shook off as she sighed and rolled her eyes "yeah everyone already picked their costume and now I have to start from scratch."
Ashley said as she crossed her arms as we walked to our next class. "I was thinking of going as Freddy Kruger." I say with a spooky tone as I look at Ashley.
"We could match so you won't have to find one that no one else is doing." I say as I look at her and smile softly.
Her face lit up with excitement as she started to tug on my arm. "Seriously! Yes!, We can go to the store to get matching ones after school."
She said as I laughed and nodded my head. "Yeah Sure." I say as I open the classroom door as Ashley walks inside. "Wait not after school today I already have plans but tomorrow?" I ask as standing at the door.
Ashley shrugs her shoulders and nods her head. "Yeah sure but no later than tomorrow or all the costumes are going to be gone." She says as she sits at her table.
I nod my head and then ask my teacher if I could go to the bathroom before class starts. She looked at me before giving me a thumbs up as a yes signal as she talked with another student.
By the time I finally got out of the bathroom the bell had already rung and the hallways were empty.
After washing my hands I came out of the bathroom and leaned down to drink from the water fountain. As I looked at the mirror in front of me as I took a sip of the water,
what was in my reflection caused me to jump. I turned around quickly as I saw a boy behind me staring. "Oh sorry did you want some water?" I ask as I step away from the fountain to give him a chance to get some water.
He nods his head, his eyes quickly moving from me to the water. I looked down at him as he chugged the water,
my eyes narrowed as I looked at his face. I felt like I recognized him, yet I have never seen his face in school before.
I was about to ask him if I knew him until I heard my name being called from the end of the hallway. It was my teacher. "Rosalee come on!" She yelled out of impatience.
"Right, sorry!" I say as I start to run down the hallway. Before walking into class I looked back at the fountain but the boy was gone. I looked over confused before feeling the teacher's eyes glare at me as I stood by the door.
I put my hands up in surrender before sitting down at my table. Time seemed to pass by slowly as the teacher began her lecture "So Boring" I thought to myself before putting my head down in an attempt to fall asleep,
after what seemed like hours I finally managed to go to sleep. But I was suddenly jolted awake as my friend shook me. I ended up sleeping through the entire class.
With only one class left I hurriedly grabbed my things and headed to my next class, while walking to my class I kept my eyes open for the boy who I saw at the water fountain.
I had made it to my next class when I began to reach for the door handle, I heard someone call my name from down the hall.
I turned to see Deshon and David walking towards me. "Hey guys" I say while turning back around to open the classroom door.
David hurriedly caught up to me "are we still hanging out today?" he asked with a tone of curiosity "Yeah we are" i responded as we walked into our class
