Chapter 54 - Lin.

"AHHHH!! FUUCCCKKK!" I screamed as I was giving birth.

Who knew giving birth was so painful! Oh, why, Satan?! Why is it so painful?!

"Come on, honey, just keep pushing," my husband said, holding my hand during the process.

"I KNOW, DAMN IT! YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT?!" I yelled, gripping his hand even more tightly.

"AHHH!" my husband screamed as I crushed his hand.

"Keep pushing, ma'am! I see her head!" The doctor Stygian sent was very helpful, even though I was still in pain.

With one final push, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

That felt like an eternity, but they finally got my baby. The doctor carried her in his arms and, moving closer, placed her right next to me on the bed.

"She is a healthy baby girl, ma'am. You were quite lucky we made it on time to deliver her safely," the doctor said with a tired smile on his face.

My baby cried and cried, but as soon as I moved her closer to me, she began to calm down and slowly fall asleep.

I felt her warmth wash away all the pain and stress I'd felt during these eighteen months.

The nurses and the doctor came in with blankets to wrap around her.

"Uhh... honey, could you please let go?"

Looking down, I saw my husband on his knees with his arm raised. Looking where his arm was, I quickly took notice that I was still holding and crushing his hand.

Letting go, I quickly apologized to the sweet thang and moved my baby to the side where he could see her more clearly.

"Look, Wyatt, it's a baby girl," I showed my kneeling husband.

He looked up and saw our sleeping baby beside me. He smiled and, moving closer, gave her a small kiss on the forehead.

"So, hon, what's our little girl's name gonna be?" my husband asked.

"Well, we were expecting a boy, but since she turned out to be a little trickster and a little lady, how about... Lin?" I told my husband.

"Lin? Isn't that just your name but shorter?"

"You got a problem with that, hon?" I said, looking at him dead in the eye.

"Nope!" he said quickly, getting up off the floor.

"Have you decided on a name yet?" the doctor spoke, catching us both a bit off guard.

"Yeah, this here lady's going to be named Lin," I said proudly.

"Alright, madame, we'll begin the process of making the necessary documents for your child's name. Until then, please avoid any farm work while at home."

"Of course, doc," I said to the doctor.

The doctor simply nodded before picking up his things and leaving with one of the nurses. The other stayed to watch over me and my baby.

She picked up my little Lin and began opening a small crib for her to rest in, but the moment the nurse placed her down, she started crying.

Wyatt, ever the kind imp, quickly moved over to calm our baby down while I started to fall asleep. It had been a long six hours, and I wanted to get some shut-eye.
