Chapter 52 - knight training.

My name doesn't matter, but if you must know, I am the captain of the royal guards of House Lucifer. The name's Sparda, and I'm charged with ensuring the safety of the royal family.

So imagine my surprise when I was tasked by the queen herself to train the prince. Of course I was honored that she came to me. I asked why the prince would need training, seeing as how he still looks like a child.

The queen simply smiled at me and crouched toward the prince. She whispered something to the prince, and before long I found myself fighting the Prince of Hell.

We traded blows with each other, and before I even knew it I was fighting somewhat seriously. How long had it been since I fought like this? The demons I'd fought were all just disappointments, and the last time I lost was against Lord Lucifer.

But, just like all my battles, I won quite easily after putting a bit more effort into it, knocking the prince to the ground. I immediately regretted that I'd just thrown someone from the royal family into the dirt.

I was expecting a scolding from the queen and expected the prince to tear me a new one, but to my surprise he simply bowed to me, and the queen smiled before picking him up from the ground.

"I shall be expecting, Sir Sparda. Make sure to teach my son the proper ways to fight to make sure this never happens again."

"Of course, Your Majesty!" I gave a bow to them, and they left using a portal.

Once they left, I took a deep breath before looking toward the sky. Maybe he was the one I could pass on my skills to; his fighting was quite unique, to say the least.

He didn't fight like a member of the royal family. No — he fought like an animal trained to kill; each blow was either fatal or debilitating.

To say I'm impressed would be putting it lightly. The kid's got skills — skills that could only be achieved if he'd trained for years, and with him being so young, I doubt that.

Well, I better rest up. The training he'll be subjected to — well, for lack of a better word, hellish. The fighting styles he'll gain from me will become crucial, and once he masters them all he'll become unstoppable.

I walked over to my quarters and grabbed my weapons, making sure they were ready for tomorrow.
