Chapter 6 - 6

Lin Feng brought the young woman back to the villa and carefully poured her a cup of hot cocoa.

Professor Lupin, the werewolf, once said that eating chocolate could alleviate fear and tension.

Though he wasn't sure if it was true… "My name is Lin Feng, what's yours?" Lin Feng asked, finally getting a good look at the young woman.

He was surprised to find that she resembled an actress from a movie he had seen before, something called 'Fantastic Four,' specifically the Invisible Woman named Sue.

However, the woman in front of him was even more beautiful and captivating than the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four.

And… her chest was considerably larger… "Ah! My name is Susan!"

"Susan Carter, I'm a reporter." The young woman took the hot cocoa and thanked him, still reeling from her unexpected aerial adventure.

Hearing Susan's name, Lin Feng was visibly stunned.

He looked at Susan with a puzzled expression and asked, "You don't happen to have a brother named Reed, do you?"

"Who's that?" Susan replied, confused, "I don't have a brother, but I have a younger sister who's five years old."

Susan sipped her hot cocoa and answered Lin Feng's questions, occasionally glancing at him before lowering her head.

The lighting had been too dim earlier, but now Susan realized that the person who saved her was a surprisingly sunny young man.

His muscles were smoothly sculpted yet powerful, and his dark eyes had a deep yet bright quality.

He seemed even younger than her.

"What are you looking at?" Lin Feng couldn't help but ask, seeing Susan peck at her drink like a chicken.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" Caught in the act, Susan was a little embarrassed.

"I was just curious, I've never seen anyone who can fly! Are you a mutant?"

Lin Feng was speechless at Susan's question; why did everyone think he was a mutant?

"I'm not a mutant! Not all super-powered people are mutants."

"Then are you from Xia?" Susan, having recovered completely after drinking the hot cocoa, was intrigued by Lin Feng's black hair and dark eyes, which reminded her of that ancient and mysterious Eastern country.

She recalled that only a few Eastern countries had such pure black hair and dark eyes.

"What? Is it not obvious?" Lin Feng playfully pinched the bangs on his forehead, his black hair, dark eyes, and yellow skin all indicating his identity.

Well… the pretty girl was speechless; this lifesaver wasn't very good at conversation… What was that word her friend told her about a couple of days ago?

That's right! A 'straight man'! This powerful Eastern man was probably one, Susan grumbled inwardly.

Lin Feng smiled, seeing Susan speechless for a long time after his teasing.

He poured himself a cup of hot cocoa; with the boost from his Superman physique, he wasn't afraid of getting fat and could eat whatever he wanted.

"Let's talk about you, little reporter." To prevent an awkward silence, Lin Feng decided to dig into what this female reporter had been up to.

"I'm very curious, what were you photographing?"

"I'm not a 'little reporter'!" Hearing Lin Feng tease her, Susan couldn't help but roll her eyes in annoyance.

Then, she slowly recounted the events.

It turned out that Susan was a recent college graduate, influenced by her journalist parents, and was striving to become the top anchorwoman at CBB Television.

Three months ago, Stark Industries announced a ban on weapon sales, which stirred up a storm of underground trading.

Through her investigation, Susan discovered that some members of Grey Street were preparing to sell a large batch of Stark Industries weapons, including powerful armaments like missiles! This made her smell a big story.

Eager to make a name for herself quickly, Susan, in a moment of impulsiveness, secretly went to photograph a Grey Street transaction without informing the TV station.

However, Susan overestimated her tracking abilities and underestimated the other party's counter-surveillance skills.

No member of Grey Street was someone a small reporter could afford to provoke.

The rats of Hell's Kitchen hadn't expected such a fearless reporter to dare to gather so-called evidence in their territory, and immediately ordered Susan to be dealt with on the spot.

But Susan seemed to have a talent for escaping, as slippery as an eel, eluding the Grey Street members several times.

The buyers, furious, put a $20,000 bounty on her head.

Now, the thugs of Grey Street had a job to do; whoever got her first would receive the $20,000 bounty!

The quick-witted Susan managed to escape for three days, but the constant fleeing greatly lowered her vigilance, and she was eventually cornered by a few of the 'rats'.

If Lin Feng hadn't appeared today, Susan's life would probably have been worth $20,000 by now.

After hearing Susan's description, Lin Feng couldn't help but look at her twice.

Well, well, this reporter is incredibly brave!

I'll call you a true heroine!

"You're really brave!" Lin Feng gave her a thumbs-up, complimenting her.

"Don't joke, Mr. Lin!" Susan was on the verge of tears.

"I don't even know what to do next, heaven knows how much I regret it!" Susan's eyes were a little red.

As she spoke about her sorrow, two tears fell.

She was still young, with a bright future ahead of her.

She didn't want to die young so soon; her mother would be so sad!

"Just call me Lin," Lin Feng said indifferently.

"Since it's related to Stark Industries' weapons, maybe I can help a little!" Lin Feng's words gave Susan hope.

Since it had some connection to Tony Stark, Lin Feng didn't mind helping out a little.

Hearing this, Susan immediately grabbed Lin Feng's arm, her red eyes fixed on him, and eagerly asked, "Really?! Lin, can you really help me?!"

Susan knew that an extraordinary person like Lin Feng must have a way to help her.

Even if he couldn't get Hell's Kitchen to lift the bounty on her, he should at least be able to save her life!

At this moment, she was like a drowning person, clutching tightly to any straw she could find.

"Really! Really! Let go first!" Lin Feng, caught by surprise, exclaimed.

Is this reporter really that… well-endowed?! What did she eat to grow up like this? Even Superman couldn't withstand this kind of assault!

"Sorry, sorry…" Susan also realized her impropriety, her face flushing as she let go, her earlier action merely an instinctive grasp for a lifeline.

Seeing Susan release him, Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief and then continued, "Tony Stark and I have a pretty good relationship, and he has a press conference tomorrow."

"I'll talk to him about this afterward!"

"You can stay here for the next two days; feel free to pick any guest room on the first floor."

"There's also food in the fridge; if you're hungry, just make something yourself!"

"Oh, right! Can you cook? If not, just order takeout."

Lin Feng asked.

"Yes, I can!" Susan nodded; she had received full marks in her home economics class.

"Alright then, now go pick a room, wash up, and get some sleep, little reporter!" Lin Feng raised an eyebrow; he needed to sleep too.

He had originally planned to make something to eat, but after listening to stories for so long, it felt like he had been eating gossip, and he no longer felt like eating anything else.

"In the future, don't go trying to photograph evidence of Grey Street transactions; that's beyond what you can handle!"

After giving his instructions, Lin Feng warned her somewhat sternly.

He could save her the first time, and the second time, but if it happened too often, there would always be a time when Lin Feng wasn't watching, and one missed time could truly mean the end.

"I know! And, I told you I'm not a little reporter!" Susan retorted.

"Just graduated! And you're not a little reporter?" Lin Feng looked at Susan with disdain, making her blush crimson!

"Straight man!" Susan stomped her foot in anger and went to choose a room.

Lin Feng scoffed, clearing the cups from the table. "Little reporter," he thought, "how amusing."

"Lin!" Susan called out.

Lin Feng looked in the direction of her voice, only to see Susan, who had chosen her room, peeking out with just her head.

"What is it now?"

"Thank you!"

Bang!

With that, Susan quickly closed the door.

Lin Feng shook his head, a smile playing on his lips. This was his first time saving someone, not counting that guy Tony, and it felt pretty good.

After tidying up and taking a shower, Lin Feng went to sleep. He had to wake up early tomorrow to witness a famous scene.

Lin Feng was asleep.

But the Black Eyed Man, with dark circles under his eyes, was working overtime.

Looking at the report on his desk and the video on the conference screen, the Black Eyed Man's face seemed to darken even more.

Standing beside him was still Coulson, who also had dark circles under his eyes, silently watching the screen with him.

On the screen was the scene of Lin Feng punching Obadiah and sending him flying.

"At least ten tons of force, maybe even dozens of tons, that punch…" Coulson said.

Even his idol, Captain America, didn't have that kind of strength!

"And he can fly!"

"I can see that, Coulson!" The Black Eyed Man pointed to his single eye.

Lin Feng's appearance was completely unexpected for the Black Eyed Man.

In just the past few days, Tony Stark's issues had already given him a huge headache, and he hadn't found an opportunity to talk to Tony Stark. Now, Lin Feng had popped up.

And he seemed to be friends with Tony Stark.

Hopefully, this black-haired kid wouldn't be too difficult to deal with, the Black Eyed Man mused.

"Doesn't Tony Stark have a press conference tomorrow morning? Will he go?" the Black Eyed Man asked Coulson.

"According to the intelligence we intercepted, Lin Feng has already received a call from Jarvis, so he's very likely to go."

Hearing this, the Black Eyed Man nodded and instructed, "Tomorrow, take two people with you. After the conference, approach Lin Feng and try to sound him out."

"I need to know if he can be a part of the plan."

"Also! Raise Lin Feng's security clearance. That's all for now…"
