Ding-dong!
The crisp ringtone of her phone sounded, and Susan sighed, opening the screen to look.
"Still not off work yet?!"
Sure enough, it was our little Superman, Lin Feng… Susan couldn't remember how many messages Lin Feng had sent her.
But there wasn't a trace of impatience in her heart, only a bit of amusement.
After patiently replying to the message again, Susan checked the time: 4 o'clock, an hour left until she was off work.
Her work was almost finished; today's tasks were coming to an end. Susan decided to have a cup of coffee to refresh herself.
The TV station offered excellent benefits. In Susan's office area, there were two coffee machines and several small refrigerators stocked with various snacks, all free for everyone to enjoy.
Hmm… sitting for too long, her lower back inevitably felt a bit uncomfortable.
Susan massaged her slender waist while making coffee.
Her job involved either going out to take photos or returning to sit and write copy.
Logically, going out should count as exercise, so her back pain could only be blamed on that damn office chair being too hard!
She had reported it several times, but the stingy station manager still hadn't bothered to replace them! Susan grumbled inwardly.
"Deng, deng, deng, deng! Susan!" A sleazy man holding a large lumbar pillow appeared before Susan like a ghost.
"Ah!! John, what are you doing?!" Susan, caught off guard, jumped in surprise and turned her head to ask, a little annoyed.
Susan's exclamation drew the attention of her colleagues. Some glanced over, then continued to work with their heads down.
However, their work had slowed down, and their peripheral vision was subtly, unintentionally, peeking in her direction.
Everyone knew what was going on; there was drama to be had!
The sleazy man was named John, the station manager's nephew.
He had been relentlessly pursuing Susan since her first day on the job, and it wasn't a new development.
Each time, he was met with Susan's merciless rejection.
John hadn't expected to scare Susan. He had originally intended to give her a surprise, but now seeing her startled, his plump face was filled with embarrassment.
"Su, Susan, I just wanted to give you a cushion, you can put it behind your back!" John held up the carefully chosen green cushion with his short, thick arms: "That way, your back won't feel tired!"
"No… no need!" Susan waved her hands repeatedly, refusing: "Thank you for your kindness, and please, call me Miss Carter!"
After saying that, Susan didn't want to look at John for another second. She picked up her coffee and tried to leave.
She couldn't stand the sight of this sleazy man. She'd heard from some colleagues that there were at least three or four women at the station with whom John had countless relationships.
Susan always kept her distance from such people.
"Susan!" John raised his voice slightly and stepped forward, blocking Susan. Susan almost didn't stop in time and nearly bumped into him.
"What exactly do you want?!" John's lack of tact had already made Susan quite angry. Her delicate little face was stern, as cold as ice.
A hint of gloom flashed in John's eyes, which were almost hidden by his fat.
His voice became low and deep: "I'd like to invite you to dinner tonight! I know a new steakhouse nearby that's quite good…"
"I'm sorry, I already have plans tonight!" Susan interrupted him expressionlessly, her eyes betraying a hidden disgust.
With that, Susan, holding her coffee, bypassed John and quickly left, leaving him only with her back.
Susan's graceful silhouette made him feel parched.
John didn't try to stop her again; he just watched Susan's retreating back with a menacingly dark look in his eyes.
The cushion in his hand was almost crushed out of shape.
This was the seventh time he had given Susan a gift. Whether it was flowers or jewelry, expensive or practical, Susan had rejected them all without a second glance.
His patience was running out… This scene was also witnessed by their colleagues at the TV station.
Almost every team had its own gossip group, and at this moment, colleagues who loved to gossip had stopped working and were eagerly discussing it in their groups.
"That fatty is pursuing Susan again! I don't know where he gets his courage!"
"Doesn't he know Susan doesn't like green? And he still gives her a green pillow?"
"He doesn't even look at himself. Does he really think 'beauty and the beast' will happen to him?"
"Just because he has a bit of money, he thinks all women should fawn over him? I bet if he weren't the boss's nephew, he would have been kicked out of the company long ago!"
"How many times has he pursued Susan now? The 17th time this month?"
The staff happily gossiped. John had already returned to his office. His office was on the floor above, a specially designed soundproof office, for John and his girlfriends to do… well, things they liked to do. Of course, his girlfriends changed almost monthly.
As soon as John entered, he roared in anger, smashing everything he saw!
"That damn bitch!" After a long rampage, John collapsed into his chair, breathing heavily. Long-term indulgence had covered his face with acne and given him a sallow complexion.
He had never seen such an uncooperative woman!
"Just because you took a couple more photos of Superman, what right do you have to refuse me?"
John cursed in his heart, his face growing darker and darker.
After a while, John, having vented, regained his calm expression.
It didn't matter; for women who were unyielding, he usually had another plan… Finally, it was time to leave work. Susan stretched, then shut down her computer.
Ding! The message sound rang again.
"Susan! I'm downstairs at your company! Hurry down!"
Seeing the message, Susan couldn't help but smile.
5 o'clock, the big boy was sending the message right on time.
Why did the usually steady big boy seem so fidgety today?
"Coming, coming!" Replying to the message, Susan pulled out a small compact mirror, quickly touched up her light makeup, and then headed for the elevator.
It was rush hour in New York at five o'clock, with countless office workers pouring onto the streets, looking for dinner.
After greeting a colleague she ran into, Susan walked out of the building, her beautiful eyes searching for Lin Feng.
"Hey! Susan!" A familiar voice sounded from behind her.
Susan turned around, and Lin Feng's large face was almost pressed against hers.
"Wow! What are you doing?!" Susan subconsciously took two steps back, her pretty face flushed, as she playfully scolded him.
"Ta-da!" Lin Feng didn't answer, he just stretched out his hands and drew a circle in the air.
Poof~ The next second, a large bouquet of roses appeared out of thin air in Lin Feng's hands, as if by magic.
Lin Feng, like a gentleman, elegantly handed the roses to the dumbfounded Susan: "For you, beautiful Miss Susan."
"Oh my goodness! Is this magic?" Susan delightedly took the roses, inhaling their fragrance. Half of her day's fatigue seemed to vanish: "Lin, how did you know I love roses?!"
"That's a secret!" Lin Feng winked at Susan conspiratorially, then bowed slightly and extended a hand, inviting her: "Beautiful Miss Susan, may I have the honor of inviting you to dinner?"
Susan's little face flushed again. She calmly extended her hand: "Of course, my big boy!"
Her racing heart rate betrayed Susan. Although it was a somewhat clichéd dating scenario, for two people on their first date, it was filled with novelty and excitement.
Lin Feng smiled slightly, took Susan's fair and soft hand, and walked to the roadside.
A Rolls-Royce was parked there, the transportation arranged by Tony for them, with Happy as the driver.
At first, Happy was very reluctant, but upon hearing that he was driving for Superman, his attitude instantly did a complete turnaround.
Not everyone gets the chance to drive for Superman, and Happy, who was obsessed with Superman's immense power, was also a member of the Superman forum.
Lin Feng carefully opened the car door for Susan, and they both got in, one after the other.
The Spirit of Ecstasy slowly set off, heading towards a seafood restaurant.
"Oh! Did you see that? Susan got into that luxury car?" In front of the office building, several of Susan's colleagues witnessed the scene and exclaimed in surprise.
"Is that her boyfriend? He's so young, and his smile is so bright!"
"And most importantly, he's so rich…"
"Did you get a picture? Quick, send it to the group, let's all gossip together!" Remembering their friends while gossiping, truly a good colleague… As soon as the photo was sent to the small group, it immediately brought out a flood of lurkers.
The group was buzzing with excitement, some envious, some sour.
"Heh heh, it couldn't be a rented car, could it? So young and drives a Rolls-Royce?" A "green tea" girl asked, green with jealousy.
"Please, can't he be a rich second generation?" Someone couldn't stand it anymore and retorted.
"What kind of work do you all do? Don't you do your homework usually? Doesn't that car's license plate look familiar?"
"I know! It's Stark Industries' license plate!"
"Oh my god, to have that kind of treatment, he's probably a shareholder, right?"
"Or maybe her boyfriend is Tony Stark's illegitimate son?"
"Am I the only one who wants to laugh right now? I want to see John's expression when he finds out about this…"
"Want to see +1"
