Chapter 165 - Visiting Ant-Man

Scott Lang, the Second-Generation Ant-Man, also had a criminal record.

He was an electronics expert, but luck wasn't on his side, and he ended up as a thief, specializing in picking electronic locks. He could even crack bank vaults.

During the battle at Berlin Airport, Scott and he had become acquainted, and Scott had even invited him to visit.

However, Peter hadn't found the time; after all, one was on the East Coast, and the other on the West Coast, so it was quite a distance.

Now that he was here, Peter naturally wanted to see his "old friend."

Of course, seeing his old friend was one thing.

Another thing was that Peter wanted to see the Pym Particles with his own eyes.

Perhaps because he also possessed a certain type of special quantum energy, coupled with his interest piqued by Dr. Foster's Ghost Particles, Peter was now particularly interested in these quantum energies with different forms.

As a scientific researcher, he didn't have any intention of stealing Pym Particles, but he could learn by observing them.

In this way, perhaps he could extract and utilize the special quantum energy within the Second-Generation Venom Symbiote?

Or maybe, one day he could even decipher the structure of the Luminous Webbing?

Peter was quietly making plans in his mind.

He'd heard that after the Civil War, Scott Lang was sent back to Los Angeles and confined to his home. He wasn't allowed to leave for two years.

Calculating the time, he figured Scott still had a few months left. As a former offender, his record was already in the Avengers' files, making him a person of interest.

Peter did a little searching and found Scott's address.

It wasn't particularly far from Dr. Foster's house, just in a different district.

But visiting Scott Lang was a bit of a hassle. He had to submit paperwork to the FBI first.

Peter initially wanted to go as Peter Parker, without his suit. After thinking about it, he decided to wear his suit and go as Spider-Man.

He found a nearby subway station and got on, still in his Spider-Man suit.

To Peter's disappointment, even though he was sitting properly on the subway, no one asked for his autograph or a photo! He thought he'd been active long enough to be considered a "celebrity"!

It wasn't until several stops later that two teenagers, who looked to be in their early teens, cautiously approached him.

One of them asked, "Where did you buy this Spider-Man suit? The quality is so good."

Peter was a little surprised. "You guys recognize this suit?"

The other teenager said, annoyed, "What's the deal! This is Spider-Man's suit! You don't know why you're wearing it? And, George, is there a cosplay event happening around here recently?"

George shook his head. "Nah, man. Where are you heading to, anyway?"

Peter scratched his head. "Is it possible that I'm actually Spider-Man?"

"Huh?" George's mouth dropped open, and after a long moment, he burst out laughing. "Page, did you hear that? He said he's Spider-Man. Hahahaha!"

Page joined in the laughter. "Come on, man, you're joking, right? Spider-Man's in New York, how could he be here?"

The car was filled with a joyful atmosphere.

Peter laughed along, too. He said, "Okay, okay, the truth is, I borrowed this from a guy at school named Flash, and I'm on my way to return it."

"Oh, I see. Flash is a good friend of yours, huh? This material is really something!" Page leaned in to examine Peter's Spider-Suit, his tone filled with envy.

"Yeah, yeah, Flash is a really good guy," Peter agreed, chuckling.

After that, he took a picture with George and Page, and then they left.

Not long after, Peter arrived as well.

After getting off the subway, he followed the map and quickly found Scott Lang's house.

Scott Lang's house wasn't big, just a very ordinary two-story villa. It was surrounded by a tall fence, with only a small walkway left on one side, making it feel like a prison.

That was right; Scott Lang was still a prisoner, restricted from leaving his house.

Thinking about it, it really was a prison.

So, he was here to visit a prisoner?

Peter looked around and spotted a black car parked in front of Scott Lang's house, trying to be inconspicuous on the side of the road.

But according to Peter's professional intuition (the detective's intuition he'd gained from being the Shadow Spider-Man), the people in that black car were probably from the FBI, there to monitor Scott Lang.

Because Scott Lang's plea agreement stated that during his sentence, he couldn't leave his house, nor could he meet with anyone who hadn't signed the Sokovia Accords.

That included Captain America and his former comrades, as well as Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne, who had provided him with the Ant-Man suit.

Once he broke the rules, he'd be facing a prison sentence of over twenty years.

Peter walked over to the black car and tapped on the window with his knuckles.

The window slid down, revealing a black man wearing sunglasses. Peter saw that he was playing a game on his phone – it looked like a game of Gomoku.

He looked at Peter, his tone a bit unfriendly. "You little role-playing punk, don't bother me. Go play somewhere else."

He had recently learned Gomoku and was playing against a simple AI. He hadn't won many times, and it looked like he was about to lose again; he was already in a bad mood.

Peter was taken aback.

Good heavens, it was one thing for the ordinary people not to recognize him, but how could someone from the government not know him?

Moreover, on the way here, he had already considered Scott's troubles, so he had asked Friday to submit an application to the authorities.

Just now, on the subway, the application for "visiting Scott" had been approved.

Logically, this security guard should have been expecting him.

He was just stopping by to avoid any trouble.

Peter held out his hand and tapped his wrist a few times: "Me, Avengers, Spider-Man, here to see Scott Lang, understood?"

"I don't care what you are. You're an Avenger?" The black man finally reacted, staring at Peter with wide eyes.

His gaze fell on the holographic screen that popped out of Peter's wrist, displaying the approved application.

"Is everything okay now?"

"Yeah, yeah," the black man nodded repeatedly.

Peter tapped his screen several times: "See? All good. You keep doing your thing, and I'll go take a look inside."

After speaking, he turned and walked towards Scott Lang's house.

The black man looked down at his phone. The game, which he was about to lose, had suddenly turned around. He just needed a few more moves to win!

He looked up at the figure knocking on the door of the target's house, and began to question life: "Is the gap between people really this big?"
