Chapter 4 - #4Chapter 4: Accommodation Arrangement

After finishing his noodles, Ye Hao wanted to wash the dishes, but Aunt Wang stopped him.

"I'll wash them. You rest for a bit. After I'm done, I'll go clean your room."

"That room hasn't been lived in for a long time; it needs a good cleaning."

With that, Aunt Wang began washing the dishes, and Ye Hao had a chance to look around Aunt Wang's house.

Although he said he was looking around, he only saw the living room and kitchen where he was currently.

As an outsider, he couldn't very well go into the bedrooms on either side.

On the wall directly opposite the door in the living room hung a portrait of the Instructor, a characteristic of this era; most families with even a little means would have one.

To the left of the door was a brick-and-stone stove, which Ye Hao had seen on television before.

Next to the stove was a wooden cabinet for bowls, plates, and utensils.

A piece of cured meat hung above the stove; in this era, having cured meat at home meant life was already going exceptionally well.

To the right of the door was a wooden shelf, on which sat a common enamel basin of that era, likely for washing up. Several towels hung on the shelf, and two wooden basins were placed underneath.

In the middle of the living room was a large square table with several chairs around it; this was where Aunt Wang's family ate.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen consisted of only these items, simple and sparse. Compared to later generations, it was practically a bare house.

However, Ye Hao knew that Aunt Wang's family was considered to be in good condition.

With two people working and earning money, and only four family members, their life in this era was quite good.

At this moment, Aunt Wang also finished washing the dishes and chopsticks.

"Xiao Hao, come with Aunt Wang. I'll take you to where you'll be staying."

With that, she walked out, turned left, and headed into the ear room on the east side.

Aunt Wang opened the door to the ear room, and immediately a cloud of dust billowed out.

Cough, cough, cough~

Ye Hao and Aunt Wang coughed from the choking dust.

"Xiao Hao, let the dust settle first. This room hasn't had anyone in it for a long time. You wait outside."

With that, Aunt Wang entered the room and began tidying up.

Seeing this, Ye Hao also followed in to help Aunt Wang move things.

There were quite a lot of miscellaneous items inside.

There were chairs with broken legs, old boxes, and cabinets, all looking dilapidated.

"Xiao Hao, first move everything out. Once it's out, we'll thoroughly clean this room."

As she spoke, Aunt Wang began moving the miscellaneous items inside.

Ye Hao, being strong, moved all the miscellaneous items out in a few swift motions, appearing effortless.

Aunt Wang was amazed at this sight.

"Xiao Hao, you look so slender, I didn't expect you to be so strong."

"Haha, Aunt Wang, I just finished eating, so I have strength."

"Poor child, you probably never ate your fill before. From now on, at Auntie's house, treat it like your own. You'll eat your fill every day and won't have to experience hungry and full days anymore."

"Thank you, Aunt Wang."

While they were tidying up, an old woman walked out from the side wing room and asked, "Sun's wife, do you have relatives visiting? Why are you tidying up this storage room?"

"Sister Li, this is Ye Hao, who went to the Street Office today to register his household. He's been an orphan since he was little and is preparing to go to the countryside for construction. He has nowhere to stay before going, so I'm letting him stay at my house for a few days."

"Xiao Hao, say hello to Aunt Zhang. She lives in the west wing room. Aunt Zhang has a daughter about your age; you two should get to know each other better in the future."

"Hello, Aunt Zhang. I just moved here, so I'll be bothering you a lot in the future," Ye Hao said awkwardly but politely.

"Xiao Ye, if you need anything, just come to my house to borrow it. You two get busy first. Since the weather is good today, I'll go take out the quilts to sun them."

"Okay, Aunt Zhang, you go ahead and get busy." After a few pleasantries, Ye Hao and Aunt Wang continued to clean the room. Afterward, no one disturbed them; it seemed that during the day, people were either at work or at school, so there weren't many people in the courtyard.

Aunt Wang went into the house, got a basin, filled it with some water, and sprinkled it on the floor of the storage room. This was to prevent dust from flying everywhere when they swept later.

After the storage room was cleaned, they started to worry about Ye Hao's bed.

Aunt Wang's family didn't have an extra bed, so Aunt Wang planned to have a carpenter make one, but Ye Hao stopped her.

Ye Hao wouldn't be staying for long, and he could just make a simple bed on the floor to sleep. After all, when he was begging, he didn't have the luxury of sleeping in a bed; the sky was his blanket and the ground was his bed.

However, Aunt Wang adamantly disagreed with Ye Hao sleeping on the floor. Finally, unable to dissuade Aunt Wang, Ye Hao proposed a compromise.

That was to use wooden planks to build a bed, put bedding on top, and it would be just like a real bed.

Coincidentally, Aunt Wang's storage room had extra wooden planks. Although they were of varying lengths, they could be pieced together to make a bed.

Aunt Wang was quite satisfied looking at the completely new storage room. As for the miscellaneous items, they were placed at the doorway for now. After all, people were still very simple in this era. During the rest day, Uncle Sun would repair them; those that could be fixed would be kept, and those that couldn't would be thrown away or sold.

Ye Hao was also very satisfied with this temporary dwelling; it was many times better than the broken temple he had stayed in before.

After tidying up, Aunt Wang saw that it was about time and went to work, leaving Ye Hao alone at home, saying she would introduce him to her family when she returned in the evening.

Ye Hao also came to his temporary small home. Although it didn't have as much furniture and appliances as in later generations, he still felt very warm and cozy.

Ye Hao closed the doors and windows and flashed into the space.

He first checked the spring water and found that it had been continuously flowing. The small pond that had dried up last night was already full of water.

Ye Hao also discovered a magical phenomenon.

After the small pond was full of water, the spring eye continued to gush out spring water, but the water in the small pond would not overflow.

After checking the information in his mind, Ye Hao understood.

After the spring water fills the pond, the excess spring water will seep into the soil, thereby changing the quality of the soil and accelerating the growth of plants and animals.

Understanding this information, Ye Hao transferred all the water from the pond to the fish pond he had dug.

After all, that fish pond was so big that yesterday's pond full of water was just a drop in the bucket.

After transferring the spring water, Ye Hao looked at the Good Fortune Green Lotus seed he had planted yesterday and found that it had not yet sprouted.

However, Ye Hao could vaguely feel the vitality emanating from the seed.

The vitality was one point stronger than yesterday.

Ye Hao then went to the fish pond and found that the fish, shrimp, and crabs inside were all very active, and they were significantly larger than when they were first caught yesterday.

The largest grass carp was already about one catty, and there were many crucian carp weighing half a catty or more.

As for the crabs, they were all egg-sized or larger, with the largest being as big as a small hanging gourd.

They grew too fast! In just one day, they grew this big.

Ye Hao then remembered that the spring water could accelerate the growth of plants and animals.

These fish, shrimp, and crabs basically grew directly in the spring water, so they must be fast.

With this discovery, Ye Hao also thought that he could grow crops outside in the future to conceal the space.

If he watered the outside crops with some space water, the plants and animals would grow incredibly fast and taste incredibly good.

Ye Hao calculated and found that the spring water could accelerate the growth of plants and animals by 10 times, which was the same as the acceleration in the space without using spring water.

However, if spring water and space were used together, a wonderful chemical reaction would occur, which could accelerate the growth of plants and animals by 100 times.

This made Ye Hao overjoyed.

If this was the case, the space would take off directly in the future. Crops that mature in half a year outside could mature in less than two days in the space, and those that mature in a year outside could mature in just over three days in the space.

"Woohoo~ Liftoff~"
