Chapter 9 - #9Chapter 9: Accidents Caused by Getting Lost

Ye Hao ran out of the courtyard and towards the direction of the sound.

Perhaps the commotion was too great; along the way, Ye Hao saw many houses with lights on, and some people, like him, were running towards where the sound came from.

Ye Hao ran for about two or three minutes, winding his way through, and then saw four people in uniform ahead, holding guns and chasing something.

Ye Hao quickly followed and saw a familiar face; wasn't that Uncle Sun?

Considering Uncle Sun's profession, he felt relieved.

At this moment, Uncle Sun also saw Ye Hao following him and was startled, "Xiao Hao, why did you follow? Go back quickly; this isn't a game, bullets don't have eyes."

"Uncle Sun, Auntie Wang was worried and was about to come out to check. I stopped her. I'm here to see what happened for her," Ye Hao said, trying to sound important.

"Alright, Xiao Hao, you've seen it. Go back quickly. The Enemy Spies are cunning and have guns. It's too dangerous for you here," Uncle Sun said, his feet not stopping as he continued to chase.

Seeing this, Ye Hao didn't say anything more and just said, "Okay, Uncle Sun, I'll go back then. Be careful." With that, Ye Hao stopped.

Uncle Sun was relieved when Ye Hao didn't follow and quickly caught up with his colleagues ahead in a few quick strides.

Ye Hao wasn't a fool to go up and offer himself as a target when he knew the other party had guns. He thought about it and decided against it. He'd go home and tell Auntie Wang. He figured Uncle Sun and his team should have no problem dealing with a few Enemy Spies. With that, he started walking back.

But he didn't know if it was because it was dark and he hadn't memorized the way when he came, or if he was preoccupied with something, but Ye Hao took the wrong turn.

By the time Ye Hao realized it, he was in a completely unfamiliar environment.

Ye Hao wasn't afraid of the dark. Since he took the wrong turn, he'd just wander around more; he'd eventually find his way to a familiar place.

Ye Hao had taken the wrong turn, but what he didn't know was that while he was lost, two Enemy Spies were also fleeing in a panic, only thinking of shaking off their pursuers and completely oblivious to the path.

One of the Enemy Spies actually headed in the same direction as Ye Hao.

Let's leave Ye Hao for now.

Uncle Sun also encountered trouble. There were originally two Enemy Spies, but as they chased in the dark, they realized one was missing. This scared Uncle Sun, as the Enemy Spies had guns, and if they injured civilians, the sin would be great, and his official position would definitely be lost. Thinking of this, Uncle Sun immediately told two Public Security officers to continue chasing the Enemy Spies ahead, while the others split up to search for the other one.

With that, he led the other Public Security officers to disperse.

Uncle Sun didn't know if he was lucky or unlucky, but after chasing through two alleys, he saw a person in black running ahead.

Because it was dark and he couldn't see clearly, Uncle Sun didn't know if it was an Enemy Spies and didn't dare to shoot indiscriminately, so he shouted, "Stop! Don't run! I'll shoot if you keep running!"

The person heard this and immediately turned and fired a shot.

Uncle Sun saw the person turn around, and perhaps being someone who had been on a battlefield, he had a premonition of danger and instinctively dodged to the side. This dodge saved Uncle Sun's life.

The person ahead turned and fired a shot with remarkable accuracy, aiming straight for Uncle Sun's chest. However, what the person didn't expect was that Uncle Sun's instinctive dodge caused the shot to go astray, only hitting Uncle Sun's left arm and not injuring any vital organs.

Uncle Sun also fired two shots at the Enemy Spies without hesitation, but the searing pain from his left arm caused his aim to be a bit off, and only one shot hit, and even that shot didn't hit a vital spot, only striking the Enemy Spies' right hand.

However, this also caused the Enemy Spies' weapon to fall to the ground. The person was also decisive, not bothering to pick up the gun, and directly darted into the adjacent alley.

Ye Hao was wondering where he was when he suddenly heard shouts and gunshots from the nearby alley, which startled him.

Coming from the modern era, he had never seen such a scene, nor had he even seen a real gun, at most only online.

Ye Hao hid at the corner of the alley, his heart pounding, listening to the footsteps getting clearer and clearer, a dense cold sweat seeping from his forehead. Just then, Ye Hao suddenly thought of his space.

Ye Hao decisively hid in his space. Although he was in his space, Ye Hao could still see what was happening outside.

The next second after Ye Hao entered his space, a person in black ran around the corner of the alley. Ye Hao saw that the person in black had blood flowing from his right hand and was running so frantically, he immediately guessed that this should be the Enemy Spies. When this person passed the spot where Ye Hao entered his space.

Ye Hao noticed that this person didn't have a gun in his hand and, thinking of the bleeding right hand, he understood the situation.

Without much thought, Ye Hao directly came out of his space and punched the person in the back. With this punch, the person fell directly to the ground, without any reaction.

Ye Hao was also startled, wondering if he had directly killed him. Just as Ye Hao was still wondering if he had killed the person, a shout came from behind, "Stop! Don't run! You can't escape!"

As soon as the voice fell, there was a rapid sound of footsteps from behind. The next moment, the people behind caught up.

"Hands up! Don't resist! If you run again, I'll shoot you directly!" A warning came, and Ye Hao almost peed his pants. He quickly raised his hands, indicating he was not a threat. Since he was facing away, Uncle Sun didn't recognize that this person was Ye Hao and thought he was an accomplice of the Enemy Spies.

"Turn around! Don't make any other movements! If you dare to make any unnecessary movements, I'll kill you directly." Ye Hao could guarantee that if he made any unnecessary movements, he would definitely be shot. Ye Hao obediently turned around.

As soon as Ye Hao turned around, he saw a dark gun barrel pointing at him. The cold sweat that had finally subsided immediately covered his forehead again.

"Xiao Hao, why is it you? Didn't you go home? How did you end up here? Did you see anyone run past here just now?" Uncle Sun immediately recognized Ye Hao and asked in confusion.

Ye Hao felt relieved when he saw it was Uncle Sun. He had been scared to death just now. It was his first time being so close to a gun, and even having a gun pointed at him. Ye Hao never wanted to experience that again.

"Uncle Sun, is this the person you're talking about?" Ye Hao said, stepping aside to reveal the person in black lying on the ground behind him.

"Xiao Hao, what happened to this person?" Uncle Sun asked, pointing his gun at the person in black.

"I was going home just now, and I ran too fast when I came, so I forgot the way back. I wandered around and ended up here. Then I heard two gunshots, and I was scared, so I hid in the corner of this alley. Then I saw this person running over from there, dressed in black, with blood on his hand, looking so disheveled. He clearly wasn't a good person. When he ran past me, I got up, chased after him, and punched him in the back. Then you came," Ye Hao recounted the events, nine parts truth and one part fabrication.

Uncle Sun looked at the person in black, then at Ye Hao, "You said he fell down with one punch?"

Seeing Uncle Sun's disbelief, Ye Hao also became anxious, "Of course it was one punch! Why would I lie to you? I was even afraid I killed him! Oh, right, Uncle Sun, if I killed him, would I go to jail?"

Ye Hao was still worried about killing someone.

Uncle Sun came closer and felt the neck of the person in black. "He's not dead yet, probably just fainted. You're quite something, kid! I didn't expect you to have so much strength, knocking someone out with one punch."

At this moment, Ye Hao also noticed Uncle Sun's arm was bleeding and quickly said, "Uncle Sun, are you injured?"

"It's nothing, just a bullet bite, it's not a big deal," Uncle Sun said calmly.

At this moment, footsteps approached, and three people ran from the adjacent alley.

"Boss, where are the Enemy Spies? Did you catch them?" The voices came before the people arrived.
