Chapter 54: Preparations Before Departure
After hearing the Ancient One's words, Sherlock's cold sweat started to pour down again and again. He knew that the Ancient One would eventually discover the source of his voice, so Sherlock could only awkwardly laugh and agree.
Seeing Sherlock agree, the Ancient One nodded in satisfaction and continued, "Alright, I'll wait for you here. Once you've packed, come straight over and we'll depart for Asgard."
After speaking, the Ancient One waved her hand at Sherlock. With her movement, a sparkling portal suddenly appeared beside Sherlock, and on the other side of the portal was Sherlock's bedroom.
Seeing that the Ancient One had even opened a portal for him, Sherlock no longer hesitated and stepped directly through the portal, returning to his gun shop.
Lightly pressing the energy source on his necktie, the suit Sherlock was wearing, which was refined from the Destroyer Armor, began to rapidly flow into the necktie's clasp like liquid.
In just a few breaths, Sherlock returned to his appearance before he left, dressed in casual clothes that looked incredibly ordinary, aside from being handsome.
Without any hesitation, Sherlock directly took off his necktie and threw it into his library. Then, he hurriedly grabbed a few changes of clothes and threw them into the travel case he had prepared earlier.
The travel case was similar to Newt's case, which Sherlock made himself, though the space inside wasn't as large, roughly the size of an RV.
This travel case was Sherlock's second self-made item. The first one was made by Sherlock during his travels, and after that travel case was smashed by the Meow-Meow Hammer, Sherlock remade it after returning home.
This time, going to Asgard, Sherlock would definitely see Thor. Thinking of that simpleton, and the environment where Asgardians were all heavy drinkers, Sherlock quickly ran to Gaz's office and stole two bottles of good wine, throwing them into his case.
After finishing all of this, Sherlock finally let out a sigh of relief. Then, as if he remembered something, he ran with a mischievous grin to the infirmary in the training center behind the gun shop and took a few bottles of alcohol, stuffing them into his case.
However, what Sherlock didn't expect was that when he came out of the infirmary, he saw a figure—it was Lorna, adopted by Price.
Lorna almost immediately noticed Sherlock and the case in his hand. The clever little girl immediately realized that Sherlock was planning to leave.
She immediately refused to let go, clinging to Sherlock's leg, insisting on going out to play with him.
If it were normally, Sherlock would have agreed to take the little loli out to play, see some scenery, and eat some good food, and that would be that.
But this time, Sherlock was going to an alien Planet! Asgard was, to put it mildly, purely alien. Moreover, this time he was going with the Ancient One to demand an explanation.
It wouldn't look good to bring his family along. If he really took Lorna for ten days to half a month, not to mention whether Price would kill him after he returned.
Just going to Asgard would be embarrassing enough. Was he there with the Ancient One to handle business, or was he bringing his family along for a vacation?
The little loli's cries quickly attracted Sherlock's uncles and Skye, who was sitting at the front desk.
The few of them initially thought someone had bullied little Lorna, and they rushed over angrily, only to discover Sherlock, who was sneaking around with a suitcase.
The few of them were very surprised to see Sherlock there, as on television, the Green Hulk, Abomination, and Tony were currently fighting fiercely.
In addition, the Military was constantly causing trouble on the periphery, and the entire New York City center had become incredibly chaotic.
According to their assumptions, Sherlock should have been at Tony's mansion with Pepper, or perhaps supporting Tony on the outskirts of the battlefield. He shouldn't have been here at all.
After learning the whole story from Sherlock, the few of them finally understood why Sherlock was there, and why even with little Lorna crying so much, Sherlock didn't agree to take her out to play.
Although they didn't know what Kamar-Taj and Asgard were exactly, this didn't prevent them from understanding that Sherlock was going to handle serious business.
In the end, Price had to comfort Lorna for a long time, and Sherlock repeatedly promised to bring back gifts. Only then did little Lorna stop crying.
After greeting everyone, Sherlock ran into the shop again and packed a lot of weapons and ammunition into his case before finally returning to his room, satisfied.
The reason for packing weapons and ammunition was simple: since Sherlock decided to go to Asgard, he would naturally use magic. However, Sherlock's magic, originating from the Harry Potter World, was too powerful, and Sherlock did not intend to use it in front of Odin and the others.
After all, Odin was not the Ancient One. The Ancient One could conceal Sherlock's special nature for the safety of Earth, but Odin, as the King of Asgard, would first consider Asgard, not Sherlock as a person.
Sherlock had already made up his mind: after arriving in Asgard, he would use Kamar-Taj's magic. Although his Kamar-Taj magic was slightly different from true Kamar-Taj magic, he could explain it away as individual differences.
He brought firearms simply to enhance his attack power. After all, for Asgardians, firearms also had high attack power; taking a shot, even if it didn't kill them, would be very uncomfortable.
As for the main purpose of going to Asgard, Sherlock had already thought it through: it was Loki's illusion magic.
Sherlock always remembered old Loki's feat in the TV series of conjuring an entire Asgard out of thin air.
Moreover, neither Kamar-Taj's magic nor the magic in Harry Potter contained illusion magic. Sherlock had been coveting Loki's illusion magic, which could even simulate himself, for a long time.
After packing everything, Sherlock opened the portal to Kamar-Taj and confidently walked through, even though he felt like he had forgotten something.
But under the temptation of new magic, Sherlock quickly ignored that slight awkward feeling, filled with anticipation for going to Asgard, just like the excitement of a school field trip in elementary school.
Upon seeing Sherlock return, the Ancient One no longer hesitated. After drinking the tea in her cup, she opened the portal to Asgard.
As the magnificent sight of Asgard gradually appeared before his eyes with the opening of the portal, Sherlock put everything else out of his mind, leaving only admiration for the culture of Asgard.
