Chapter 50: The Treacherous Tony
The reason Sherlock was able to come up with such an idea goes back to one morning.
It was a beautiful, sunny morning. Because Skye was there, Sherlock didn't need to get up early to open the door and sit at the cash register.
So, Sherlock slept until late morning, then got up, ate a quick meal, tidied up, and slowly went downstairs. He was even still thinking about how to have fun that day.
Suddenly, the roar of a car engine erupted from outside Sherlock's gun shop. The loud noise echoed throughout the entire shop, startling not only Sherlock but also the uncles in the office who didn't have training missions.
When they rushed out of the gun shop's door, they saw a 6x6 pickup truck, modified from a Mercedes G63. With just a glance, Sherlock could tell that this off-road beast speeding towards the gun shop had the most top-tier modifications.
It was no exaggeration to say that the shelby raptor baja edition parked outside Sherlock's shop was probably just a fraction of the modification cost of this 6x6.
This off-road beast sped towards Sherlock's shop at an extremely fast pace. As it approached the shop's entrance, it performed a drift, sliding to a perfect stop right in front of Sherlock's shop.
Looking at the massive beast in front of him, Sherlock even wondered if it was there to cause trouble. Not only Sherlock, but also his uncles and Skye, thought the same.
They all instinctively placed their hands on their weapons, ready to deal with any upcoming conflict. But very quickly, as the car door opened, that pre-battle tension vanished without a trace.
The reason was simple: the person who got out of the driver's seat was Tony's exclusive driver, the chubby Happy.
After getting out, Happy quickly shuffled his short, stout legs to the back and opened the car door. Wearing sunglasses and an exceptionally flashy outfit, Tony calmly stepped out of the back seat of the 6x6.
Tony, after getting out, didn't forget to glance at the Shelby parked in front of Sherlock's shop, and a look of undisguised disdain appeared on his face.
"Rich bastard!"
This was the unanimous thought of Sherlock's uncles and Skye.
As for Sherlock, he was so furious that smoke was practically coming out of his seven orifices, and he couldn't even bother to complain. In Sherlock's eyes, this guy was purely here to provoke him.
Damn it, I know you're rich, but it's wrong of you to come here and show off!
Moreover, Sherlock knew one thing: Tony had no interest in off-road pickup trucks. He preferred sports cars. It was Sherlock who liked off-road pickup trucks.
For this guy to buy a top-tier off-road pickup truck and come in front of him was pure showing off. Sherlock even suspected that Tony was retaliating for Sherlock immediately going to buy a car with Tony's armor when they first returned.
As Tony spoke, Sherlock immediately realized that Tony's whole act was pure retaliation against him.
"Ah, my dear nephew, long time no see. As your uncle, I've made a big deal for you, you know. To even deliver what you wanted, I had to spend a 'small fortune' to buy a 'big' pickup truck to transport it for you."
Listening to Tony's sarcastic words, Sherlock felt his blood pressure shoot up. At this moment, Sherlock finally empathized with Lorna, who was often pranked by him.
Suppressing his anger, Sherlock looked at the flashy Tony standing in front of him with a fake smile, and replied with equal sarcasm.
"Ah, my dear uncle, that truly was a lot of trouble for you. Could you let me see what exactly gave you such courage?"
Facing Sherlock's sarcasm, Tony was completely unfazed. He pointed to the truck bed behind him and then slowly answered Sherlock's question.
"My dear nephew, your tone just now displeased your uncle. I suggest you speak to your uncle again after looking in the truck bed."
Looking at the flamboyant Tony, Sherlock rolled his eyes in exasperation, deciding not to bother with this old man who was still so showy, and walked towards the truck bed on his own.
And after arriving at the truck bed and lifting the cover, even Sherlock couldn't help but curse.
"Holy crap, Tony, did you rob the Federal Reserve?"
The reason for Sherlock's excitement was none other than the shocking sight inside the truck bed: it was completely filled with gold bars.
One-kilogram gold bars were neatly stacked in the truck bed. Just lifting a corner of the tarp, the dazzling golden light astonished Sherlock.
Seeing Sherlock's shocked expression, Tony's smugness became even more undisguised. He then walked forward and patted Sherlock's shoulder.
"See, kid, you still have a lot to learn."
Looking at Tony, who was still putting on airs, Sherlock rolled his eyes in exasperation. Then he asked Tony about the specific situation. When he understood, Sherlock couldn't help but give Tony a thumbs up.
When it comes to being a shrewd businessman, it's still you, Tony Shi Da Ke.
The reason was simple: the source of Tony's truckload of gold bars was S.H.I.E.L.D., that resentful, rich bastard. When Sherlock left, he left Tony with 20 bottles of antidote, 10 bottles of Bai Xian Potion, and 2 bottles of Polyjuice Potion.
Except for the 10 bottles of antidote Tony kept for himself, the rest were sold by Tony. The buyer was Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D.
When Sherlock sold them to Tony, he doubled the price from his library's vending machine. And Tony, this guy, sold them to S.H.I.E.L.D. at an unknown multiple of the price Sherlock sold them to him.
The entire truck bed contained nearly one and a half tons of gold. Tony even reinforced the truck bed specifically to transport this gold with the pickup truck.
You know, there were only 22 bottles of potions sold to S.H.I.E.L.D., even if the Polyjuice Potion was slightly more expensive, this quantity was too exaggerated.
Seeing Sherlock's dumbfounded expression, Tony felt his vanity greatly satisfied for a moment. Then he began to urge Sherlock to quickly put away the gold.
Sherlock naturally didn't stand on ceremony and immediately performed a "gold vanishing act" for everyone.
Seeing the truck bed instantly become empty, Sherlock's uncles were unusually calm. The only one who wasn't calm was Skye.
For a moment, Skye even began to doubt her worldview.
