Chapter 43 - 43

Chapter 43: Aftermath and Departure

The uncle and nephew quickly reached an agreement. For Sherlock, since he was making money anyway and the potion yield was so low, it wouldn't be a problem to sell it to S.H.I.E.L.D. at three or four times the price, right?

For Tony, it was even more so. Since he could get it directly from Sherlock, it wouldn't be a big problem to sell it to S.H.I.E.L.D. at double the price, right?

Compared to S.H.I.E.L.D., a large organization, Tony Stark was just a small businessman. You, as a national department, surely can't expect me to sell it to you at a loss, can you?

Just right, neither Tony nor Sherlock liked S.H.I.E.L.D. much at the moment, so it wouldn't be too much for the two of them to team up and trick it a bit, right?

Hmm, a World where only S.H.I.E.L.D. gets hurt was achieved in an instant!

After the two quickly reached a consensus on this matter, Tony mysteriously leaned closer to Sherlock's ear and whispered.

"Kid, that magical armor is with you, isn't it?"

Sherlock rolled his eyes at Tony's words. After all that, using S.H.I.E.L.D. as a pretext for so long, Tony's ultimate goal was the Destroyer Armor in his library!

Sherlock gave Tony a look that said, 'Are you even making sense?' and then hesitantly nodded at Tony.

Seeing Sherlock nod, Tony's eyes immediately lit up, and he visibly became excited, but before Tony could speak, Sherlock poured a bucket of cold Water on him.

"Don't even think about that thing right now. First, I haven't fully researched it yet, and I've put it away. Also, I can't guarantee that if I take it out now, the person controlling it will still be able to control it.

Secondly, this thing belongs to the magic side. You, a technology-side person, can't even use it. What are you getting so excited about?"

Although Sherlock had been very direct, Tony still had no intention of giving up and began to argue. The two debated fiercely, from alchemy to circuits, from programming to control, and from energy cores to armor materials.

In the end, of course, Sherlock was defeated. He sighed, lamenting that he realized the importance of knowledge only when he needed it, and secretly cursed Tony for not playing fair. The scope of the things he brought up was too broad, directly hitting Sherlock's knowledge blind spots.

Finally, with no other choice, Sherlock could only propose two demands. First, find him an armor later. Sherlock also wanted to experience what it felt like to fly home at super high speed.

Second, tell Tony to figure out a way to get S.H.I.E.L.D. to pay for his car!

After all, if Sherlock called the insurance again, let alone what the insurance company would think, whether they were considering putting Sherlock on the blacklist, even Sherlock himself felt a little embarrassed.

And this time, Sherlock decided he didn't want the car; this time, he wanted money!

Sherlock felt that this place seemed incompatible with him. His beloved car had broken down here twice, and if nothing unexpected happened, Thor and his companions had already returned to Asgard, and it was unknown when they would return next.

Coupled with the Destroyer Armor in his library making him itch with curiosity, Sherlock no longer had any thoughts of continuing his road trip. He only wanted to go back early and research his new equipment.

Tony naturally agreed to Sherlock's demands without hesitation, contacting Jarvis to have him bring over the Mark II, which was his engineering prototype, from the warehouse, and then turned to go do business with Coulson.

Seeing Tony go to find Coulson, Sherlock didn't care and started wandering around the small town, trying to find Jane and her companions. And indeed, Sherlock found them.

At this moment, Jane still believed that Thor would return soon, staring eagerly at the sky, seemingly waiting for the Bifrost Bridge to open. But what Jane didn't know was that the one who supposedly sacrificed for his beloved brother was probably already swinging his hammer and smashing the bridge at this very moment.

Looking at Jane, who was like a devoted wife waiting for her husband, Sherlock felt a little sorry for her. After all, he had spent a long time with Jane and her group, and Sherlock had long considered them friends.

After much thought, Sherlock pulled the few of them to a secluded place and explained Thor's situation to Jane, Daisy Louise, and Dr. and the others.

Sherlock even clearly explained the love-hate relationship between Loki and Thor in Asgard. Daisy Louise was fine at first, but when she heard Sherlock talk later, the way she looked at Jane changed.

After all, according to Sherlock, Thor and Loki were the true lovers, and Jane was at most a mistress in front of these two brothers.

However, Jane clearly didn't think that way. After learning that the Bifrost Bridge was destroyed by Thor to save innocent lives, preventing Thor from coming to Earth for a while, Jane even began to plan what research she should do to go to Asgard herself.

Looking at Jane, who was completely consumed by thoughts of romance, Sherlock and Daisy Louise both rolled their eyes in unison, lamenting that love makes people blind.

But it did allow Jane to regain her spirits and immerse herself in her beloved research, which was much better than being a devoted wife waiting for her husband.

Among the few, the only one who remained relatively sober was Dr.. Although he was full of curiosity about Asgard, which Sherlock spoke of, and even full of admiration for Loki and Thor's love-hate relationship.

But Dr. was still exceptionally clear-headed. After Daisy Louise accompanied Jane and left, Dr. pulled Sherlock aside and asked his question: why Sherlock knew so much.

To Dr.'s question, Sherlock smiled mysteriously and didn't say much. However, Dr. seemed to have made some assumptions on his own, showing a look of sudden understanding, and then stated that he would definitely keep it a secret.

This left Sherlock bewildered, unsure of what to say for a moment. He could only maintain his persona as a wise man, smiling and nodding, then quickly said goodbye to Jane and Daisy Louise and left.

By the time Sherlock returned near his small hotel, Tony had already finished his discussion with Coulson. Both seemed very satisfied with the price the other had offered, and smiles were on their faces.

And as one of the conditions, the Mark II stood behind Tony.

Seeing Sherlock return, Tony greeted Coulson and brought the silver Mark II to Sherlock's side.

"You're finally back. I've taken care of all your conditions. Come on, I'll help you put on the Mark II, and then we'll head back to New York together."

Tony spoke while raising the armor's arm. After some deformation, the gloves on the armor surprisingly revealed various tools, making Sherlock's mouth twitch. He then remembered that Tony's armor still required the assistance of mechanical arms to be worn at this time.

"Damn, I was too hasty!"
