Chapter 8: Jarvis: I Hate People with No Boundaries
Sherlock knew nothing about the investigation into Obadiah Stane, but even if he did, he probably wouldn't care.
After all, although Obadiah Stane was rich, he hadn't come into contact with any superpowers or black technology. Before Tony's Iron Monger was made, this old man was just a rich old man.
It was precisely because of this that Sherlock was not afraid of any provocative actions from Obadiah Stane. After all, strictly speaking, the only people related to Sherlock in this World were Tony and the uncles who liked to cosplay the 141 Task Force.
Leaving Tony aside, if Obadiah Stane really targeted Sherlock's uncles and wanted to use them as bargaining chips to threaten Sherlock, then he had truly picked the wrong people.
Leaving aside the connections those brutes had in the military, just the gangs, assassins, and private armed forces these brutes had trained over so many years were something Obadiah Stane couldn't compare to now.
If Obadiah Stane really dared to lay a hand on Sherlock's uncles, he would probably experience what it means to be hunted by the White, black, and gray forces simultaneously.
Besides Sherlock's uncles, the only one left was Sherlock, this pervert, who was also a fun-loving person.
If Obadiah Stane attacked Sherlock, Sherlock would be even less afraid. Damn it, how could a dignified magic user be bullied by a muggle?
It was precisely because Sherlock was so carefree that it created the illusion that he wasn't very worried about anything.
In fact, when Pepper took Sherlock to temporarily reside in Tony's seaside Villa, Sherlock even discovered a joy he had never experienced before: teasing Tony's artificial intelligence, Jarvis.
Actually, at first, Sherlock just wanted to prank Tony. After gaining some access to Jarvis, he ordered Jarvis to start frantically downloading Japanese specialties.
That guy, from cavalry to infantry, from one-on-one to melees, from fresh and innocent to challenging human limits, Sherlock instigated Jarvis to download for Tony according to eighteen major categories and thirty-six subcategories.
He even wickedly changed the main directory name of the files to 'The Gift Uncle Tony Loves Most' and repeatedly instructed Jarvis to inform his beloved Uncle Tony in a crowded setting as soon as Tony returned.
It even developed to the point where almost the entire network was being scraped, website by website, with the ultimate goal of filling Jarvis's storage unit with the 'gifts' he had given Tony.
But along with Sherlock's unreliable behavior, Sherlock quickly discovered the powerful retrieval and logical capabilities of Jarvis, this powerful artificial intelligence.
With a sudden surge of playfulness, Jarvis's day of suffering was born at Sherlock's hands.
It sounds exaggerated, but Sherlock wasn't actually too excessive; he simply started training Jarvis in the same way the old guys from the imbecile forum trained ChatGPT before he transmigrated.
Such as, is wiping your butt after pooping a capitalist scam? Or, if I can go online in an internet cafe, why can't I be an imbecile in the imbecile forum? Or, if I tie my finger with a rubber band, my finger will get cold, so if I tie my neck, will my whole body's fever break?
Questions like these constantly bombarded Jarvis's CPU, and gradually, as an artificial intelligence, Jarvis's program inexplicably developed emotions akin to annoyance.
He was only able to tease Jarvis so brazenly because Jarvis was an artificial intelligence without a physical body, unable to jump out and give him two punches.
Sherlock completely forgot that Jarvis would become Vision in the future. Sherlock's current behavior also led to Jarvis having an unusually complex first impression of Sherlock when he became Vision.
It was a kind of annoyance mixed with a perverted, idiotic care and sympathy; in short, it was very complex.
Sherlock's behavior, of course, did not escape Pepper, who always kept Sherlock by her side. For Sherlock's childish behavior, Pepper was both annoyed, amused, and helpless.
She was annoyed that Sherlock didn't seem to worry about his uncle's safety at all, as if he already knew that Tony would surely turn peril into safety.
She was amused by Sherlock's very childish attempt to prank Tony by having Jarvis download Japanese specialties.
She was helpless about Sherlock's harassment of Jarvis. Jarvis had already asked her more than once if she should arrange a psychiatrist and neurologist for Sherlock.
Of course, besides these, Pepper also discovered with horror that her initial worries seemed to have become reality.
The moment Tony disappeared, Pepper simultaneously asked Rhodes to intensify the search for Tony and tried to contact private armed forces to enter Afghanistan to find clues about Tony.
But strangely, no matter how Pepper contacted them, no team or individual took the job. In the end, the price even went up to ten million U.S. dollars, and still no one took the job.
It was then that Pepper felt something was wrong, as if an invisible hand was manipulating everything from behind, and it was a hand targeting Tony.
Feeling that something was amiss, Pepper immediately contacted Sherlock and made up a reason to keep Sherlock by her side for protection.
And with Sherlock's arrival, the news of Tony's disappearance somehow spread, causing Stark Industries' stock to fall.
And as Stark's stock price fell, Pepper also discovered that someone was secretly acquiring Stark Industries' shares.
A frantic Pepper became even more convinced that this was definitely a conspiracy targeting Tony, but as Tony's secretary, she had no way to deal with it.
She could only call Tony's good friend Rhodes every few days to inquire about the situation and strengthen the security around herself and Sherlock.
It wasn't until nearly a week later, when Obadiah Stane called a board meeting to elect himself as the new director of Stark Industries, that Pepper began to have a slight suspicion about this uncle of Tony's.
She suspected that Obadiah Stane was the mastermind.
But she had no evidence, and Obadiah Stane's desire to be a director was also normal business behavior, after all, Stark Industries' stock was still falling.
As one of the board members, it was also normal for Obadiah Stane not to want to see the company go downhill.
Although Obadiah Stane spoke eloquently at the board meeting and painted a very bright future, the board members clearly did not like Obadiah Stane's rhetoric, which led to everyone leaving in discord.
As Tony's heir, sitting behind Pepper and fully entrusting Pepper with affairs, Sherlock even saw a hint of sinister expression in Obadiah Stane's darkened face.
