"You villain. All you know how to do is bully girls."
Nami, who was at the ship's wheel, muttered the complaint under her breath, her gaze flicking every so often toward the cabin door.
After leaving Windmill Village, Leo's first action had been to take Makino to his room.
The helmsman's duties had, naturally, fallen to Nami.
She was the navigator, and now she had to cover steering the ship too.
Was there any justice in the world?!
In her heart, Nami had already cursed Leo as a bastard a thousand times over.
He was having all the fun.
He'd said such nice-sounding things.
'Makino is new here and unfamiliar with the ship's operations. I need to teach her some basic nautical skills.'
The innocent Makino had taken him at his word and had even prepared a little notebook to take notes.
And then this 'lesson' had lasted for four hours.
"Damn him, couldn't he be a little more gentle?!"
...
Inside the room.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host. Successfully conquered crew member Makino. Reward available. Claim?]
The system's prompt arrived right on schedule.
Leo ignored it for now.
Makino lay quietly on the large, three-meter-wide bed, her face slightly flushed. She looked at Leo without saying a word, her eyes filled with a deep, lingering resentment.
You villain!!
He'd said he would teach her nautical skills.
How did it turn into this?!
"Since you've joined my pirate crew, you're my person now. Don't worry, I'll treat you well," Leo said softly, comforting Makino.
These weren't just sweet nothings.
He wasn't the type to take his pleasure and then just walk away.
Once they spent more time together, Makino would come to understand his better qualities.
In truth, although the 'lesson' had lasted a full four hours, Leo was well aware that Makino's physical stamina was noticeably different from Nami's. Therefore, his teaching methodology had been adjusted accordingly. With Nami, he could maintain a relentless, fast-paced curriculum with few breaks. But with Makino, he had deliberately slowed the frequency of his instructions, controlling the pace to a level she could comfortably accept.
"Mmm," Makino responded in a soft, tired voice.
Leo gently closed the cabin door behind him and turned to walk toward the room where Nami was.
What for?
To claim his reward, of course!
[Congratulations, Host! Obtained skill — Instant Transmission!]
Instant Transmission?!
Leo was ecstatic.
In the fantasy novels from his previous life, teleportation was a basic ability, but placed in the world of One Piece, it was absolutely broken, game-changer level.
He clicked open the skill description.
Instant Movement: Within the range of the user's perception, the host can ignore all obstacles and arrive at any desired location.Spatial Relocation: The host can leave coordinates at any location they pass through. No matter where they are, they can instantly return to a coordinate point.
In simple terms: short-range teleportation for dodging and closing distance, long-range travel via pre-set markers.
Leo nodded, immensely satisfied.
In the world of One Piece, many top-tier fighters were often described as 'teleporting' during battle, but that was just an exaggeration for moving too fast for the eye to see. It could still be tracked with Observation Haki.
But what Leo had just mastered was true teleportation.
What did true teleportation mean?!
His speed was as fast as his thoughts.
Even if Observation Haki could predict where he would be, the body still needed reaction time. In that split-second opening, Leo could have already teleported to Mary Geoise and back.
Not only that, but the Instant Transmission skill paired with the Heal-Heal Fruit made it practically impossible for him to die.
Leo grew more and more excited imagining how powerful he would become after conquering all the storyline beauties.
By then, he could probably crush even Imu easily with his bare hands!
Wait... wasn't Imu a woman?
Can't kill her, then. He'd just have to... conquer her instead.
...
...
Night fell.
At the dining table, Leo, Nami, and Makino sat together.
Nami was eating with gusto, (without a shred of decorum).
"Slow down. No one's going to steal it from you," Leo teased.
"It's so good, it's just too good!" Nami mumbled, her mouth full. "Sis Makino, your cooking is a million times better than his." She managed to praise Makino while still getting a dig in at Leo.
"You can leave that last part out," Leo said, rolling his eyes before giving her a light flick on the forehead.
Nami, feigning pain, rubbed her forehead, shot a glare at Leo, and then continued to wolf down her food.
The scene made Makino lower her head and giggle softly.
Although she hadn't known them long, she felt that Leo wasn't quite the same man she'd seen in the bar earlier that day.
Was it just her imagination?
"Makino, from now on, you'll officially be the brewmaster and cook for the Leo Pirates," Leo said. He was genuinely surprised; as a bartender, her cooking was incredibly delicious, a feast for all the senses.
"No problem," Makino replied with a gentle smile, agreeing easily.
In truth, from the moment she'd agreed to join his crew, she really hadn't had a choice.
Since I'm here, I might as well relax.
Besides, she'd already given him the most precious thing she had. Her heart had already accepted him.
If Leo enjoyed her cooking, it made her happy.
"Captain, are we going to recruit more partners next?" Makino asked, making conversation as she settled into the group.
There were only three people on the ship now, which didn't even meet the most basic configuration for a pirate crew.
"Correct," Leo affirmed with a nod. "For a while, we'll be traveling to many places to recruit crewmates."
Hearing this, Nami suddenly looked up and sighed melodramatically. "We're doomed. Who knows how many more innocent, kind-hearted girls are going to be ruined by you."
Leo's face instantly cooled. "Nami," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "What did you just say?"
"Joking! Captain, I was just joking!" Seeing Leo raise his hand again, Nami quickly begged for mercy.
All female crew members?!
Makino was stunned for a second, then recalled the scenes from her 'nautical lesson' earlier in the day. A wave of shame washed over her, and she blushed deeply.
Our captain... he's so... lewd.
