Chapter 4 - My Heritage

Then who exactly was the man that just left?

And how exactly did Zhen Rui fall into this mess herself?

A phone call pulled me out of my thoughts, it was my driver, he must have arrived.

I quickly rushed into the bathroom, showered and returned only for me to catch the book by the table.

Was this always here?

It was a large gift box and I quickly opened it to find a very beautiful black midi skirt, matching top and a match mini suit.

Surprisingly, when I wore them, it was exactly my size.

I frowned because, the only person who could have dropped this here was the man I slept with, how could he capture my complete size in just one night?

Perhaps it's a compensation for last night, he must like it.

I touched on my makeup, sent a kiss to my reflection staring back at me through the mirror.

I felt truly happy, to the point of skipping as I giddily left the room, my heart swelling with so much joy. This was just the start, from now on, everything will work in my favor.

If I look back to last night, I was so scared that I wouldn't make it, and that I fell into her trap, now I will be the one to save her ass.

But why should I? Mother was being too mean. They should be the one to clear Zhen Rui's name, but here I was cleaning it up despite being married to Mo Yichen.

I would have to make it clear to them later on.

In my past life, after Zhen Rui framed me, my parents turned their back against me and no one was able to pull me out of the hell I was plunged into.

She will have to taste the suffering this time around.

Let me see how she gets out of it.

Fixing my shades on, I quickly walked out of the lift, and sited my black sedan quicker than ever and rushed into it.

My driver greeted me as I settled into the back seat.

"Morning, Mr. Lu" I cheerily greeted him back.

"Where are we going this fine morning, Madam." He replied, and I thought about it, Zhen Rui would probably be home in the protection of my parents.

So that should be my next stop.

"To my parents house." I leaned back, pulling the shades off my face, as the engine rolled to life and began its journey.

For some reason, I felt uneasy, as if something big was coming and it was bothering me that I couldn't pinpoint what it was.

Using the time that, Mr. Lu drove, I busied myself with the media uproar. It turned out the effect was much stronger than my past life.

Because it's Zhen Rui, bullying was far worst.

[yourdragonbrother: I just knew it, that scheming conniving sister of Mo Yi was a slut all along.

Unclepeachblossom: is she available for one night? Uncle would like to have some fun with her]

The comments only got worse, like how bad could the video be? I clicked the play button, forgetting the volume was maxed.

Only for raw, unfiltered dirty sounds to echo in the car. I quickly tossed my phone to the side, turning off the video.

My skin flushed and my breathing hard as if I just ran a marathon race.

My gaze dragged to Mr. Lu only to find that he didn't flush. An awkward laugh escaped my lips, I cleared my throat and rearranged myself.

That was so embarrassing.

"I received an unknown call, saying the master would be home tomorrow"

I gasped. What did he say?

"Which master?" The words slipped out and I gulped. It was only one man I was married to and that was Mo Yichen apart from him, who else could return.

But if I remembered, in my past life, he only returned two weeks later.

This was too much of a time jump. Has he noticed something already????

I shook my head, that was impossible, he was out of the country when it happened there was no way he had realized what I had done.

"Mam, we have arrived." Mr. Lu announced and I looked out of the window, and truly there was the mansion I grew up in.

I alighted from the car, just at the same time the front door opened, revealing my parents with fake smiles on their face.

Probably out to welcome me, now that I had driven a flashy car, into their home.

I tightened my fist against my skirt, did a short breathing exercise before stepping down from the car, with the help of Mr. Lu.

"It won't take long." I flashed him a warm smile, he bowed and left with the car.

My attention returned to my father and mother, and I was already feeling tired before I could even advance towards them.

"Yi Yi, my dear daughter. Come let mummy look at you." I almost gagged at the fondness in her tone.

The image of her, right now, was perfectly different from the one on the call.

That's when I realized, from the corner of my eyes, in the thick bushes that surrounded the mansion, someone was watching us.

It was the media.

I smiled internally, that was the only reason they would come welcome me warmly.

"Let's go inside mother, father. The sun is not so good on our skin." I lied through my smiles. There wasn't even any sun.

It was just so straining smiling so much that it hurt.

At least they obeyed, my mother cheerily laughed once in a while to my flattering as if she was amused.

Once the door closed behind us, every mask was removed, my smile fell, and I rolled my eyes away. Advancing deeper into the living room before I comfortably sunk into one the couch.

When I turned to look at mother, she was already pacing up and about, her brows drawn together while she kept on biting on her thumbnail.

How unsightly.

"How is your husband, Zhen Yi?" My father started first, settling into the couch closed to me.

I hummed in acknowledgment. "He is still on his business trip. According to my intel he would be back next tomorrow."

I wish his car would break down.

"What?! And what are you doing about your sister's scandal?! I told you to fix this?!" My mother shouted as she glared at me as if I led my sister into the room, and opened her legs for two men to have her way with her.

How pathetic.

"What do you want me to do about my sister's mistake, mother? She is no longer a child any more, you need to stop spoiling her." I drawled lazily.

This was a strain. One of the servants served the tea on the table, and I leaned in to take a cup.

"I am spoiled?" A trembling raged filled roar echoed from behind me, and I scoffed.

I didn't need to turn to know who it was.

"Welcome, Zhen Rui." I grinned as she stood in front of me, her eyes were puffy, and she looked pale white as if she had gone through the nine stages of life.

She pointed her trembling finger at me, her jaws clenched. "Zhen Yi! You framed me!"
