Chapter 5 - Homecoming

A peerless laughter burst out of my lips.

I couldn't control it and I had to take some sips of tea to calm myself. Because it was all too funny.

How was I, the victim doing the whole framing? It doesn't make sense.

Don't tell me, they actually believed i could do that?

The laughter died down in my throat, replaced with a frown when I watched my parents look at me with doubt.

"Don't tell me, you guys actually believe her?" I asked, my eyes glancing between both of them. My mother stepped forward first, a cold look in her eyes and I sighed.

I get it, from the very beginning, I was only regarded as the cleaner while everything that Zhen Rui said was the truth.

When did everything get this way?

Once there was time a time, when this family was truly happy, I would chase my littler sister around this mansion while my parents struggle to catch us only for us to fall on our tails and laugh.

It took only one year, to bring all those happy times to the ground.

"Why would you frame your own sister, Zhen Yi. You have ruined her whole future!" My mother barked and I just watched on with a lazy look in my eyes.

I crossed my hands. Yes, act all you want Zhen Rui.

As she curled into my mothers arms, patted by her while she is fake crying, there was a wide smirk on her face as she looked at me.

I won't say it didn't make me pissed up. But this was not the same Zhen Yi that was triggered by whatever she does. This time, I won't even as much as flinch.

Gladly the taste of the chamomile tea was actually sweet. I couldn't stop drinking.

At some point it was calming.

"Mother, you didn't even ask what was our little Rui doing at the hotel, and how she ended up in the room." I calmly glanced at the mother and daughter duo, a playful smile hanging at the corner of my lips as I registered their confusion.

"We went there for a gala! And that's where you drugged my drink!" Zhen Rui snapped.

Which was true. But she was the one that drugged my drink.

"Are you absolutely sure about that?" My fingers played with my lipstick stain at the edge of the tea cup and from the corner of my eyes, I could see how much Zhen Rui was fidgeting.

When she noticed my gaze, it triggered her. Just the way I wanted. She must be thinking.

'Since she doesn't have evidence, I can turn it on her'

Tsk. What a laughable woman that is called my sister. I ran a hand through my black hair, comfortably smoothening the tresses.

"Stop trying to drive me to a corner, sis. Just because you are Mo Yichen's wife doesn't mean you could frame me up like this! I will talk to the authorities!" She rambled on and on and I rolled my eyes, meeting her glare head on.

"Then should we go right now?" I asked her, a warm smile on her face. She frowned already feeling something off.

But she was too dense to realize.

"What are you hesitating for? Let's quickly go to the authorities, if someone comes to fight you, you should always fight back." My mother snarled, her eyes spitting fire at me.

My chest throbbed, but I didn't back down.

"Little Rui, if you are not scared of anything it's better to clear your name at the police station. We can even catch those guys that did that to you." My father chimed him at the side, as he patted sisters back.

I leaned back into the couch, my hands crossed, and my head tilted.

Didn't they look like the perfect family?

I continued to quietly seep my tea, while my eyes narrowed at Zhen Rui. She was shaking like a leaf, her jaw clenched and her eyes bulged out to the point it was almost frightening.

She knew that if she were to go to the station, everything would be revealed.

"I—"

"That wouldn't be necessary, I will clear out our Little Rui's name now. She didn't do anything wrong, in fact I will show you guys what actually happened to our little Rui." My voice drifted into their ears, my mother and father looked at each other confused.

I fished my hand into my hand bag and brought out of my phone.

I scrolled through my phone. And finally got hold of the crucial object to clear the air in the house.

Zhen Rui was panicking.

But I showed my mother and father either ways. They played the video and everything that happened yesterday played before their eyes.

Where they could clearly see Zhen Rui shoving a glass into my hands, and then how I uncomfortably walked out of the hall while she was still there.

I don't know who sent me that video, but it was well detailed, right from the time I wa still with Zhen Rui down to the time, she was inviting Xiao Bo upstairs to celebrate my downfall. But the room was the room I was meant to be in.

Just because of her carelessness.

So much trouble and see where it gets her? I shook my head, pulling a fake sympathy on my face.

Gasps erupted from my mother lips, she whipped her head to me, before turning to look at Zhen Rui whose head was lowered.

But then she suddenly bursts.

She raged, grabbed my phone and smashed it on the ground. Her chest heaving from the anger that had consumed them.

"Oh my, well there goes my phone." I shook my head before settling my gaze on Zhen Rui that had breathed a sigh of relief. "But there is more to where that came from. I think I am not the only one who owns the video because it had already been given to the press."

I shrugged as her eyes widened, flash of terror in her eyes.

I smiled, a pleased one that hung at the corner of my lips as I rose to my feet. "But don't worry, I won't press charges against you." I assured her as I pulled her into a warm hug and patted her back.

Before I withdraw, I whispered into her ears, coldly. "So stop your antics, Zhen Rui. Next time I won't be so lenient."

I picked up my bag, with a wide smile on my face. I threw my arms around my father and mother and gave them an air kiss on their cheeks.

Without waiting for them to say anything, since they were so stunned to speak, a look of disbelief on their face, it was naturally my cue to leave.

But right before I crossed the door, I turned and looked at the trio.

"I would have loved to stay for Dinner. But I have a homecoming to preparing for."
