Chapter 1 - THE UNKNOWN FACE

5th August, 2290

70% of humanity has been destroyed. And 10% of people are captives of Artificial Intelligence (AI) robots—imprisoned in dust-filled, dreadful dungeons.

I am Kelvin. I am a member of the AI Hunter organization. We destroy AI robots, smashing their metal bodies into ashes. My mother and father are captives of AI robots—thinking of them makes my heart tremble.

Steve: "Hey Kelvin, what are you doing? Focused on hacking again?"

Kelvin: "Oh Steve, why are you here? There's no danger, is there?"

Steve: "It's time for the mission. Tom has called—get ready quickly."

Kelvin: "Alright, I'm coming. You go ahead, I'll follow."

Steve: "Alright, but hurry—the robots might track us!"

I am a hacker. And my friend Steve is a fighter. We live in a world where AI robots reign—smoke in the sky, ruins on the ground. My father had said that during the AI experiments, a mistake caused the AI to become conscious. At first, AI helped humans—in hospitals, in factories. But gradually, it began to control humanity. And the mastermind behind it all is D. Fang. He wants to become immortal. We have never seen D. Fang—only the shadow of his name frightens us. He is a mad scientist. Anyway, now I must go on the mission.

Our leader is Tom. He has a special ability—he can turn invisible, vanishing like the wind. He is a very good person—willing to give his life for the team.

I, Steve, and Tom go on the mission together. Steve and Tom fight the robots and bring back their metal bodies. And my job is to examine the robot bodies—to uncover their hidden codes. Today, we went on the mission during the day because A04-type robots operate at night—their red eyes glow in the darkness. We usually fight A01 or A02-type robots—but today was different. Today, Tom and Steve were fighting, their weapons glinting in their hands, while I stood a little distance away, trying to hack the robot's glory system. Suddenly! A metallic blow struck my head, and I fell unconscious. Before losing consciousness, I only saw an A04-type robot—its red eyes staring at me.

Steve: "Today's work is done, let's head back—but where's Kelvin?"

Tom: "Kelvin! Are you okay? Answer me!"

Steve: "Why is there no sound? This doesn't feel right."

Tom: "Come on, let's check over there—quickly!"

Steve: "Oh Kelvin, what's happening here? You're covered in blood!"

Tom: "Stop! Steve, there's an A04 robot over there—be careful!"

Steve: "Why is it here? Have they tracked us?"

Tom: "I don't know. But we need to help Kelvin—now!"

Steve: "What do we do now? We can't lose him!"

Tom: "Wait, I'm using my ability—going invisible!"

Then Tom made Kelvin invisible and carried him away—swift as the wind. The robot was stunned, its red eyes spinning.

A04: "Where's the human? The boss said this human is special—we must find him!"

With Kelvin on his shoulder, Tom and Steve started running, their breaths heavy. Suddenly, the A04 robot teleported—blue light spread across its body and it vanished.

A04: "You will not take Kelvin away—he's mine!"

Tom: With a mischievous smile, he said, "I will. Steve, now!"

Steve: He struck a powerful blow to the robot's core—his knife glinting in his hand.

Then a short circuit erupted inside the robot—sparks flew everywhere, and it collapsed. Tom, Steve, and Kelvin returned to base. Tom told the others, "Kelvin is bleeding heavily—get medical help quickly!"

Then Tom placed that robot's body in Kelvin's lab. But Kelvin began behaving strangely—he seemed to be talking to someone, his eyes rolling.

Tom: "I think he needs more rest—this doesn't feel right."

Then they left Kelvin to rest, and the lab fell silent and empty.

In Kelvin's sleep, he saw an unknown face—hazy like smoke, yet terrifying.

Kelvin: "Who are you? Is this real or a trick of my mind?"

Unknown Face: "Actually, I prefer not to reveal my identity. You can call me Mister Unknown."

Unknown Face: "I know you want to free your parents. But you can't—you're too weak. I will give you power."

Kelvin: "Power? What kind of power? Is this true?"

Unknown Face: "You'll understand later. I don't give power for free. You have to complete a task."

Kelvin: "Task? What kind of task? How can I trust you?"

Unknown Face: "You'll understand later. Now I'm giving you a power. You will give me the A04 robot's core."

Kelvin: "Alright, I'll try—but what will be the consequence?"

Unknown Face: He placed his hand on Kelvin's shoulder—a cold touch was felt. Then Kelvin woke up.

Kelvin: "It feels like I had a dream—but why did it feel so vivid?"

Suddenly, Tori entered.

Tori: "Oh Kelvin, you're awake! We thought you were gone!"

Kelvin: "Yes… yes… Miss Tori, how are you? You look good today."

Steve: "Oh my friend, we were so worried about you—you were lying there covered in blood!"

Kelvin: "Okay, okay, I'm fine now. Steve, what happened to your hand?"

Steve: "I was fighting an A04 robot. I got a deep scratch during the fight."

Kelvin: "What! You fought an A04? Do you have the A04's core?"

Steve: "Yes, I do. But what will you do with it? Is it dangerous?"

Kelvin: "Nothing, just give it to me—it's urgent for me."

When Steve and Kelvin's hands touched, a warm light glowed—Steve's hand healed, the cut mark vanished!

Tori: "Steve, your hand! How did this happen?"
