Silver was silent.
The silence only made me more aware, it wasn't a must for the mark to be on her hand yet, keeping quiet of proved his suspicion correct.
Out of nowhere, master raven suddenly showed up holding some documents in his hands, everything fell down as silver was Desparately trying to cover her hands.
She stepped back, and before i could try move closer, he stood in front of her. The usual instructor i knew vanished.
His eyes were stern , he knew about it too, but still no one was going to tell me anything.
"Am sorry night, he said with a cold voice and continued, but I can't let you live after knowing this"
Master Raven's voice was calm, almost sorrowful.
Instantly, sparks of light swirled around his palm, a long sword appeared,
Before I could react, he vanished from sight—appearing in front of me, his sword already drawn, the edge inches from my throat.
I jumped back, just seconds after his sword cut of strands of my hair. He didn't stop, kept moving, using the last of my stamina left, i activated
[Shadow kin]
I switched back and forth between my tangible and intangible form, he wasn't just attacking recklessly, each attack was aimed at my life.
Although i should have been angry he was trying to kill me, i was happy, i finally understood what he was feeling,
It was reckless love, he loved her as his daughter, and i did too as family, after dodging his last attack and preparing for the next, I didn't block, i used my hand to grab his blade, he was truly sorrowful. I didn't understand why he was, why silver didn't tell me, and why i couldn't even understand.
But that was why i knew it, i wasn't someone they could trust yet, i didn't blame them, since i wouldn't too. But it still hurt. Then all of a sudden, silver shouted "STOP"
Master raven stopped but didn't release his blade
"Silver," he said, his tone hardening, "I know you care for him... but I can't risk your safety. Not even for someone you trust."
"But dad, he won't hurt me, he's someone i can trust, I don't know why yet, but am sure he would never hurt me".
"And how are you sure, that he won't betray, that he won't leave you for being weak".
Without thinking, he shouted "I won't, silver is the closest thing i have to family, i know am weak, am not an idealist, I can't promise to protect her, but all i can say is that, even if my life is the line, i will stay with her, so please, let me stay with her.
I know you have no solid reason to trust me, but please, i still have so many things i need to find, and i want her by my side no i want to be by her side.
So please, am begging you, trust me, just this once"
Regardless of what he said, he met the blade at his neck, master silver's eyes were colder,
"Your too soft, being this way will only drive you to death, your innocence will only lead you to death".
The blade broke into sparks of light, and even though night was alive, the word innocence echoed in his head.
Crimson red memories flashed before his eyes, one thing he was sure about to the core, with or without memories, he was far from anything close to kind or innocent.
Shrugging of the feeling, silver hugged him and broke down in tears.
Am sorry, i should have told you.
Its alright, there was no reason to tell me.
She cried and sobbed she couldn't anymore, i didn't stop her, she always wore a smile, but sometimes, smiles are just a mask for the pain in the heart. People like us couldn't cry unless we had a reason to, so i felt it very well ,the pain that she was hiding.
After a few minutes, she finally stopped crying, then told him why she didn't get marked.
"Unlike normal trials, there were no spawns, no requirements she knew of , but only a single mirror. And in less than a second, the trial was over and she was scarred as an unmarked seeker.
After she was done, she wiped her tears, and with the most purest smile he had ever seen she said:
"Thank you, night" .
Not knowing what to say, he simply smiled back and hugged her .

A two days before the blood moon. Night was walking down the corridor, it was gloomy more than usual, since it was night time, but the stillness in the air only made me more uneasy than i already was, arriving at the entrance of the BioLife class, i gently knocked before entering.
Master raven was at his desk, calm and had a worried look on his face, his winkles increased. When he saw me, he smiled and asked me to come sit down.
Then he asked a question:
"Do you really mean what you said".
What!
"About protecting her even if it costs you your life"
Yes, of course.
"Then even though this is selfish of me, i ask no am begging, pls protect her, if you end up together keep your promise, pls"
He was begging like his life depended on it, it showed how much he loved her, then he picked up a note and handed it to him.
Raising silver was not easy even as a master, he stopped entering the scape and sold all his chronicles, as he grew, his legend began to fade. Hearing all this, night finally remembered who he was, the forgotten master that once rivaled any other master.
He was the living Blade, Master Raven.
Night opened the note and was shocked, written inside was information that anyone would die for. They were ways to get certain titles and traits, it was far valuable than any chronicle of the same rank... That alone showed that he cared for silver more than anything, without thinking, he made another promise, one that no one but him and master raven heard, the moment he stopped talking, master raven's composure finally broke into pieces, all he could say was thank you, over and over again.

The timer was up, after a year and a half since entering the academy, it was finally time to enter the scape. The mood was completely terrible, from dawn to sundown, no sound could be heard through out the academy, the depression that filled the academy halls was more intense than any blood lust in the world.
Around sunset, every seeker in the academy were split into several groups and sets before taken to medical facility buildings.
Just like the former facility, there were pods, the only difference was that each and every one if them was empty , they were arranged neatly in rows like caskets waiting to be filled. After ever one including night entered the pods ,the instructor said something he could not hear.
The sound of the pod starting filled his ear, the built in medical assist was connected to my body. As the moon appeared beneath the curtain of clouds, a red glow enveloped the whole world. I felt my body grow numb and something dragging my mind.
I felt the pull grow stronger and stronger till resisting it felt even harder, and then, with one final pull, my eyes closed shut and my body became lifeless. And with that, i was thrown into the jaws of the scape.
