Darkness unraveled into countless threads as he jumped down. Air crashed into him but all he could think of was the pain he'd feel if he lost someone again. As he landed, he lunged forward. He was faster than when he returned from his trial. Out of nowhere a bizarre looking monster popped out of nowhere, without a thought, he grabbed it and sent it into the ground, he jumped away and then a few arrows shot out of his palm. The hex echoed in his ear,
[You have slain veiled beast...]

but he had no time to listen, all he could do was continue forward. The only thing he picked up was the rank veiled
The closer night got to the site of the explosion, the more spawns popped up as well as the academy student s, lucky, all were of veiled rank, but their numbers were the problem, they were fighting despite the fear of dying desperately clingy to their minds. He did not have a main weapon, which made the situation even was.
When he got to the site, his blood ran cold, blood, both human and from spawns was everywhere, there were corpses. The masters had yet to arrive, which was stranger.
Without thinking, he grabbed a trainee sword he spotted and ran inside. The corpses piled up, more seekers were seen inside. Some were frightened, fighting for their lives, others were calm, knowing it would end soon.
The reason he was scared , the reason he was so agitated, was because this was silver's dorm.
She wasn't strong but, he didn't know her abilities, she never really used it.
As he got even closer, he saw it. A gate which looked like it led to hell, it was wide open. The explosion was caused by non other than it.
It was merely shock released from it opening.
There were no spawns insight, and then something crawled out of the gate, like how described in myths, it came it.
A demon crawling out from the pits of , hell, before it could access the situation, night lunged in.
He struck fast, the moment his first attack hit, he felt an unimaginable amount if recoil bounce back into his body.
He jumped back, cursing beneath his breath, a direct barrage of attacks would never work. But still...
He wouldn't give up without trying.

Constantly swing, his stamina was draining rapidly, he kept using multiple traits which made it really hard to maintain consciousness.
But he still continued, when he had no other choice, a black flame surged out from him, the spawn shrieked.
Dismissing the flame instantly, he lunged a barrage of attacks, making sure to leave another opening.
With that opening, he attacked again. Switching the blade of sword into shadow, his attack passed through then returned to its tangible form.
It swung its fists at him, but he barely felt a thing, although he was lunged away, he didn't sustain any internal damage. He lunged forward, it swung at him again, this time he was prepared,

He passed through easily, when he landed, he swung with all his strength, the blade cut off its hand. Blood surged, its shreikks became louder and with every single muscle in his body, he swung his sword with all his strength. As his blade beheaded it ,the hex echoed:
[You have slain Veiled Demon, Dusty keeper]
[You have received a chronicle]
[Absorbing residual energy]
[ You have completed the task]
[Your flames grows darker]
[Your shadow grows stronger]
[Your physic is greatly enhanced]
[Your reward as been received]
The gate desipated into dust. Everything vanished as is it never happened, except from the corpses of the dead spawn and the damages, there was no other sign that the gate ever appeared.
He was panting and.
Without even stopping to check his runes, he ran around, looking for any sign of silver, along the way, he helped many people, he was hurt but he didn't care. After checking the whole ruined dorm, there was no sign of silver, he helped transport the injured to the clinic and then continued his search. Since there was no sign of her in any of the dorms, he went to the only place that she always hanged around.
He rushed past people not even minding how h looked. When he got to the BioLife class, she was there, without thinking, he ran up to her and stopped in front of her, he didn't know why his chest felt tight looking at her. It wasn't love or hate, even friendship felt like a weird thing to say, he just felt a connection, something he couldn't describe.
Something in him told him, if she died he wouldn't be able to look anyone in the eye. But for the first time, he didn't have to watch someone die.
He wasn't powerless like before, when he finally calmed down, he glanced at something he shouldn't have.
On normal days, silver always wore a strange glove to cover her hands, he didn't know why, but didn't ask, he didn't want anything to stiffen their friendship.
Now when he stared at her hands, there wasn't nothing, which made no sense, he knew she was a seeker who returned from her trial but , there was no way she didn't get marked.

Somewhere in the academy, a strange figure with an immensely dominating aura slowly stared at a screen, the strange thing was, whenever a gate appeared, every electronic device became unusable for a while, yet it was working fine. Then the instructor who examined night when he first entered the academy came into view.
The screen displayed night fighting the guardian of the gate, the instructor then said:
"Do you think he will survive, since he is the godson of the third pillar, won't it be dangerous not to help him. If he dies, the academy won't unscratched and you as well".
The man didn't say anything and when he did, a terrifying smirk appeared on his face.
You may be right, but your forgetting something, he may look weak, but neither of his godsons are considered normal.
