The next day.
June 12th, 2013.
Wednesday.
Also the day of the graduation ceremony for the twelfth grade at Midtown High School.
At this moment, many parents had already arrived on the school lawn near the East River.
Before the ceremony began, almost all the parents were taking photos with their children.
Hawk and Gwen were no exception.
The two of them were wearing graduation gowns and caps, posing in various ways for Helen Stacy to make her happy.
Hawk and Gwen stood under a tree, holding hands and looking at each other.
Gwen smiled apologetically.
"Sorry."
"Sorry about what?"
"My mom is too enthusiastic."
"I think it's fine."
Hawk smiled, glancing out of the corner of his eye at Helen, who was finding the right angle to take a photo not far away.
Helen looked at the two of them intently in the lens, then seemed to think of something, her eyes lit up, and she looked up at Hawk.
"Hawk."
"Yes."
"When I count to three, you kiss him."
"Okay."
Hawke readily complied, looking at his smiling girlfriend.
When Helen counted to three, he kissed her without hesitation.
Gwen followed suit.
Click! Click!
Helen transformed into a professional photographer, constantly pressing the shutter to record this symbolic moment.
A while later.
Sitting in the audience, Helen flipped through the photos she had just taken, her smile impossible to hide.
Luckily, George had a case today and couldn't come.
Otherwise.
George's expression definitely wouldn't be good.
Gwen, sitting in the front row, turned to look at her mother Helen, who was still admiring the photos, her lips twitching slightly.
She whispered to Hawke beside her, "Don't come upstairs to my house tonight."
Hawke was slightly taken aback.
"Why?"
"I'm afraid Dad will see these photos and shoot you."
"..."
Hawke blinked, then turned to look at Helen, who was still engrossed in taking photos.
Thinking about the various photos the two of them had just produced under Helen's direction that would make their doting father George crumble, he nodded to Gwen and said, "That makes sense. I'll wait for you downstairs then."
Tonight, they had arranged to meet Mary and Peter at a newly opened restaurant near Times Square to celebrate their graduation.
Mary, sitting next to Gwen, said expressionlessly, "At least you guys have photos. I don't even have any."
Hearing her best friend's somewhat resentful voice, Gwen turned her head, seemingly remembering something.
"Hasn't Peter arrived yet?"
"No."
"What's he doing?"
"I don't know, I don't understand, I don't want to know. All I know is that if he doesn't come in ten minutes, he'll be my ex-boyfriend."
"..."
Gwen, listening to her best friend's resentment that could easily feed the evil swordsman, opened her mouth, then quickly looked at Hawke and gave him a wink.
Hawke understood, took out his phone, and dialed Peter directly.
A while later, the call was answered, and the moment it connected, the urgent siren blared.
Clearly,as a well-known good neighbor in New York City, the Spider-Woman was either fighting crime or on her way to fight crime.
Accompanied by the urgent siren and the howling wind, Peter's voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Hello?"
"Stop hello. If you're not here in ten minutes, Mary is breaking up with you."
Hawke said concisely, then hung up the phone and nodded to Gwen to indicate that he had notified her.
Nine minutes later.
Hawke, watching from the audience, admiring the inspiring speech of Gwen Stacy, this year's New York City High School Outstanding Student and Midtown High School Outstanding Graduate Representative, glanced at the makeshift restroom not far from the stage and raised an eyebrow.
Peter, crouching low, quickly went to the seat next to Mary, pulling his graduation cap over his head while dodging Mary's resentful barrage of criticism, and explaining himself.
Mary was a woman of her word; since it hadn't been ten minutes yet, she hadn't broken up with Peter, but was instead venting her anger on him.
Hawke, sitting in his seat, looked at his girlfriend Gwen on stage, who was radiating confidence and delivering a graceful speech.
A smile appeared on both of their faces simultaneously.
Later that evening, Gwen emerged from her apartment building, saw the Audi A8 parked across the street, smiled, crossed the road, and got in.
Hawke then started the car and drove towards Times Square, curiously watching Gwen.
"How was George's expression? Was it grim?"
"Not exactly grim."
Gwen glanced at Hawke seriously, then smiled broadly.
"It was truly awful. He even asked when you were coming up. Luckily you didn't."
Hawke looked at Gwen's bright smile but didn't laugh.
His tone was low and somber.
"Gwen, have you considered that you can't hide forever? I can't just stop coming from now on, can I?"
"Uh."
Gwen's smile froze as she looked at Hawke.
"Then what do we do? Turn back?"
"Forget it."
Hawke shook his head.
"Trust the wisdom of future generations."
Gwen blinked.
"What do you mean?"
"Leave the future Hawke to worry about."
"Hawk."
"Hmm."
Gwen looked at Hawke seriously.
"If the future Hawke remembers what happened today, he'll definitely call the past Hawke a jerk."
Hawke shrugged.
"Whatever, let him curse me. Besides, he can't travel through time and come back to beat me up, can he?"
Gwen smiled and shook her head, then changed the subject.
"Mary and Peter, have they arrived?"
"Yes."
"That's good. That restaurant is really popular; have them reserve a table so we don't have to wait in line."
"I already told them,"Hawke replied.
Half an hour later.
A French restaurant right next to the Hudson River.
Hawke parked the car on the side of the road, and as he and Gwen got out, Mary, who was sitting at a table outside, called out to Gwen and waved.
The two exchanged a glance and quickly walked over.
Hawke pulled out a seat, and after Gwen sat down, he sat next to her, looking at Peter curiously and asking, "How late did you finish taking photos at school?"
Peter didn't give a specific time, but looked at Hawke and replied, "I feel like my legs aren't mine anymore."
Hawke laughed.
Mary rolled her eyes.
"I told you yesterday, today is graduation day, we're going to take photos."
Peter smiled sheepishly.
Seeing this, Gwen shook her head helplessly, changed the subject, and chatted with Mary about summer vacation plans.
Mary's eyes lit up immediately, and she looked at Gwen, suggesting,
"How about we travel abroad?"
"Abroad? Where?"
"London? How about that?"
Mary was full of anticipation.
"I actually wanted to go to Paris, but let's go to London first, and then Paris next year, okay, Gwen?"
"I'm fine with that."
Gwen said, then looked at Hawke beside her: "Are you going?"
Hawke didn't speak, just smiled at Gwen.
Gwen smiled slightly, ignored Hawke, and looked at Peter: "Peter, what about you?"
Peter opened his mouth.
Going to London the round-trip airfare seemed quite expensive.
He was quickly estimating the cost of this trip to London, wondering if his savings would be enough.
Just as Peter was still thinking,
Hawke had already answered for Peter.
"He's going."
"..."
Peter was slightly taken aback, looking at Hawke sitting opposite him.
"Me?"
"You go!"
Hawke glanced at Peter, then nodded to Gwen to confirm, "Yeah, he's going."
Gwen smiled at Peter.
"Peter?"
"Okay."
Peter gave up on estimating; he could just max out his credit card.
He nodded, "I'll go." Gwen and Mary exchanged a glance.
The next second, the two women had already pulled out their phones and started searching online for flights to London and related accommodation information.
By dinner time, Gwen and Mary had almost finished planning their summer trip to London.
After all, Gwen was a student assistant, and her efficiency was always well-known.
As for Mary well, let's not talk about Mary.
After dinner, the two women didn't leave immediately but walked ahead, intending to digest their food and stroll around Times Square.
Hawke and Peter walked behind.
He glanced at Peter, who seemed a little distracted after the two women estimated the cost of their London trip, and said with a smile, "I'll cover your expenses."
Peter glanced at Hawke and then shook his head.
"No need, I'll figure something out."
"Figure out what? Sell more selfies?"
"Uh."
Peter scratched his head: "I've taken too many this year, the newspapers are already offering very low prices."
Hawke shook his head speechlessly: "Didn't you ever think about switching newspapers? Why do you have to fight to the death with the Daily Bugle?"
Peter was also speechless.
"The problem is, other gossip newspapers are offering even lower prices than the Daily Bugle."
"Okay."
Hawke fell silent and said to Peter:
"Keep your money from selling yourself. I'll cover your expenses. Anyway, my money didn't come from selling myself."
Peter was a little curious.
"Then where did you get your money?"
"From the wind."
Hawke said with a smile.
It's still the same old story.
Of the three versions of Spider-Man, he liked the Spider-Woman in front of him the most.
The Amazing Spider-Man was second.
That talkative League Spider-Man let's not talk about League Spider-Man.
Peter opened his mouth, looked at Hawke, and was about to say something when a loud bang came from Times Square in front of him.
Amidst the cacophony, a silvery arc of electricity ripped through the sky, striking the Times Square screen with a soft "whoosh."
The screen crashed to the ground.
Hawke and Peter were stunned for a moment, then exchanged a glance.
The next second!
Their figures vanished from their spots!
