Chapter 111 - Chapter 112 Times Square Cannot Allow Such Awesome People

Hawke was in front.

Peter was behind.

With Gwen's "Ah!" and Mary's "Yay!", the two women suddenly felt a blur before their eyes, and a sense of weightlessness washed over them.

The next second.

The giant screen that had fallen from the exterior wall of the Times Square building crashed onto the square with a loud bang, shattering instantly.

Fortunately, no one was hit.

But the flying screen fragments still injured some people.

"Holy shit!"

Mary, who had stumbled and almost fell, looked at the crowd screaming and fleeing outside in Times Square, and the giant television screen smashed to pieces on the ground.

She instinctively exclaimed in surprise, then reacted and turned to look around.

"Wait a minute, where's Peter?"

Hawke, who had immediately moved Gwen to a safe area, pointed to a spot not far away, hearing Mary's voice:

"There."

Mary looked in the direction Hawke was pointing.

There it was.

Peter, now dressed in his Spider-Man suit, used his webs to perform a rather flamboyant backflip in mid-air before landing with a thud on a police car.

Mary's lips twitched.

Gwen, seeing this, comforted her, "Look on the bright side, at least Peter got you to safety before helping you. Obviously, he cares about you."

Mary paused, looking at Gwen.

Their eyes met.

Mary thought for a moment, "Okay, you're right."

Gwen breathed a sigh of relief, then seemed to remember something and looked at Hawk beside her.

Hawk met Gwen's gaze, raising an eyebrow.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

Gwen smiled slightly, changing the subject, "What happened over there?"

Hawk glanced towards Times Square following the fleeing crowd, his expression becoming somewhat strange.

"Max Dillon?"

"Who?"

Gwen felt the name sounded familiar, but couldn't quite place where she had heard it before.

Hawke chuckled and said, "Osborn Bio-Industry Building, Electrical Engineering Department, the one who came with me to your lab last time."

Reminded by Hawke, Gwen recalled the bespectacled, seemingly simple-minded black man.

"I remember now, what happened to him?"

"He mutated."

Hawke shrugged.

He was now too lazy to even think about why, despite Peter Parker and Harry Osborn both resembling the original Spider-Man, the villains featured so far were from the Amazing Spider-Man series.

Because thinking about it is pointless.

Wait a minute.

The Green Goblin who appeared last year was the original Spider-Man version, right?

Uh a Frankenstein's monster?

Hawk blinked, then realized what he meant and looked at Gwen and Mary: "Alright, let's get out of here."

Gwen didn't hesitate, looking at the crowd screaming and running towards them, and nodded:

"Okay."

She had no intention of watching the spectacle.

As the sheriff's daughter, Gwen was taught not to go to dangerous places.

Mary still cared about Peter.

"Peter."

"Don't worry, he'll be fine."

Hawk chuckled.

He's Electro.

He could beat the Amazing Spider-Man, so the original Spider-Man would be a piece of cake.

After all the original Spider-Man could spit webs without any equipment, and his physical abilities were so strong that he wouldn't die from falling from a dozen stories; at most, he'd get up and complain of a backache—a bug-like existence.

Gwen said to Mary, "It's not safe here.

If you stay, Peter will worry about your safety. It's the right thing to do to leave."

Hawke stopped talking and quickly pulled Gwen towards the direction where the car was parked.

Gwen, in turn, pulled Mary along.

Soon, the headlights of an Audi A8 parked on the side of the road flashed.

Hawke then took out the car keys from his pocket and handed them to Gwen.

lGwen was slightly taken aback, looking at the car keys in her hand, then looked up at Hawke.

Hawke smiled slightly.

"You take Mary away first, I'll go check."

"Hawk?"

Gwen frowned slightly upon hearing this, her expression finally mirroring Mary's, looking at Hawke with worry.

Mary, standing beside him, didn't speak, but turned her head to look in the direction of Times Square.

Over there the screams grew louder.

Arcs of electricity crackled; clearly, a fight had broken out.

Hawke looked at Gwen, who was worried about him, and said with a smile, "Don't worry, he's definitely not as strong as the Hulk."

Upon hearing this, Gwen remembered Hawke's victory over the Hulk, and the worry on her face lessened slightly, but she still looked at Hawke with some suspicion to confirm.

"Really?"

"I swear on my sister Anya's name."

"Okay."

Gwen was relieved to see Hawke swear on his sister's name.

After all, for Hawke, swearing on God's name might be a lie, but swearing on his sister Anya's name was definitely not a lie.

With this thought in mind, Gwen was completely at ease.

Without further hesitation, she urged Mary to get in the car, then opened the driver's door and got in.

She rolled down the window and reminded Hawke again, "Be careful."

Hawke nodded.

Gwen didn't say anything more.

Before the traffic jam became a complete mess, she stepped on the gas and drove away with Mary in her car.

Hawke waited until the Audi A8 was far away before turning his gaze back towards Times Square.

He hadn't planned to go and join the fun.

After all, at his current level, defeating Electro was just a matter of one punch.

What's more, he's currently fighting the original Spider-Man, whose physical abilities and combat awareness are far superior to the other two versions of Spider-Man.

Two against one, it's like bullying a kindergarten student.

But this is Times Square.

The Times Square that left him with lingering resentment after September 10th, 2009.

Five minutes later.

Top floor of the Times Square building.

Hawke stood on the edge of the rooftop, looking down at Times Square, which was flashing with electric arcs.

In his eyes.

Peter was continuously shooting webs in the air, weaving and shifting between billboards and flashing neon signs.

Electro's electric arcs in his palms constantly chased Peter, shooting out arcs of electricity that exploded on the billboards and neon signs.

The next second.

Peter, with two webs between his arms, kicked out with all his might, like an antelope kicking, and with a thud, kicked Electro in the chest.

Electro was instantly blasted away, slamming his back against the statue in the Times Square fountain with a loud thud.

The statue collapsed.

Hawke's gaze fell on Electro, who had gotten up and was now even more enraged, then swept over the surroundings.

The fleeing crowd.

Ordinary people lying on the ground, their fates unknown, caught in Electro's electric arcs.

Finally, his gaze settled on the boy protecting his sister, trying to escape the fighting.

Hawke's eyes flashed.

Without hesitation, he looked at the spider demon, who was weaving back and forth between Electro's lightning whips: "Peter, find an opportunity to kick him into the air."

He spoke softly, at a normal volume.

But Hawke was confident Peter could hear him.

And indeed,Peter, who was frantically searching for an opportunity to subdue Electro, heard the voice beside him and instinctively looked up at the top of the Times Square building.

Peter then saw Hawke standing on the edge of the rooftop, nodded, and looked again at the Electric Man in the arena, whose arms were outstretched, releasing high-voltage arcs of electricity like a thunderbolt.

Quickly,Peter seemed to have an idea.

With a whoosh, two strands of spider silk adhered to a patrol car, and then, while doing a backflip in mid-air, he used his arms to pull the car away instantly.

The car roared towards the Electric Man in the arena.

The Electric Man, seeing this, neither dodged nor evaded, watching the police car fly through the air and hurtle towards him, spreading his arms and releasing arcs of electricity.

Boom!

The police car exploded instantly in mid-air.

Just then, the Electric Man suddenly saw something out of the corner of his eye, instinctively looked down, and saw Peter appear almost skimming the ground, two strands of spider silk attaching to his body.

The next moment.

Peter suddenly pulled, taking advantage of Electro's pull towards him, his body instantly shifting, landing upside down on the ground.

He then gathered momentum in his legs, and just as Electro stumbled and pulled towards him, he slammed his foot down.

*Bang!*

Electro was instantly sent flying.

At that moment,Hawke, on the rooftop of the Times Square building, watched Electro, who was flying with a hunched back, and his eyes lit up.

Without any build-up or hesitation, he simply clenched his fist, raised it, and threw this seemingly ordinary punch at Electro, who was flying through the air with nowhere to dodge.

But even such a simple punch was not something Electro, who had mutated due to an accident, could withstand.

Hawke's punch arrived in the blink of an eye, instantly making intimate contact with Electro.

The air seemed to quiet down for a moment.

But the silence lasted for less than a second.

A second later.

Boom—

Electro, still hunched over in mid-air, exploded instantly.

In that instant, the immense electrical energy absorbed by Electro as it ripped through the cable erupted like a raging electric dragon, crackling and spreading in all directions.

Thump, thump, thump!

All the lights in the vicinity of Times Square plunged into darkness in that instant.

Whoosh!

Peter, using his web, launched himself onto the rooftop of the Times Square building like a slingshot.

He looked at Electro, now nothing but ashes, then at Hawke, blinking.

"You and this."

"Max Dillon?"

"Yes, aren't you friends?"

"And then?"

"Did he offend you?"

"No."

"Then."

"Times Square doesn't allow powerful people to exist."
