Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Use of Holy Light

After work, Yang Xiao walked around the neighborhood. Predictably, there was no sign of Huahua. If finding the dog were that easy, the old lady wouldn't be so worried.

There was no need to rush this matter. Yang Xiao simply went home. Passing by Fat Brother Ramen, he went in for a meal. The fat boss was still as enthusiastic as ever.

After eating, Yang Xiao didn't go straight home. He rested for a while at the fat boss's place, then left and ran directly to Takoba Municipal Beach Park. He ran half a lap around the park. Of course, Yang Xiao avoided the area where All Might and Izuku Midoriya were training; he wouldn't go near that spot.

The beach park was very large. For Yang Xiao, the run was just a warm-up. Now he needed to train his Quirk. Seven or eight months was both a long time and a very short time. For Yang Xiao, time was very tight.

He knew about the other three transmigrators, and Yang Xiao had seen the future scene. Presumably, the other three transmigrators had also seen his own future image. At that time, Yang Xiao could only see the other three transmigrators from his own perspective on the rooftop.

Similarly, the other three could only see the others from their own perspectives. So, Yang Xiao didn't know what he would look like in five years. He could only work hard now; otherwise, he would be eliminated.

And what was the consequence of elimination?

Death!

Death is the ultimate destination for all humans, but Yang Xiao didn't want to die a violent death. Perhaps when his Quirk was improved to its extreme, it would undergo a qualitative change, maybe even extend his life, or reach an unimaginable level?

"Power concentrated to a point, a point breaks through everything!" Yang Xiao muttered in front of an abandoned refrigerator. He raised his right hand, focusing the Holy Light energy on his index finger. The energy slowly gathered there. Yang Xiao's eyes suddenly sharpened, and he thrust his index finger towards the abandoned refrigerator.

Bang!

A loud sound erupted. A golden energy shot out from Yang Xiao's index finger. This energy instantly pierced through the abandoned refrigerator, blasting a hole about 20 centimeters wide—like it had been hit by a long-range Barrett sniper rifle. Although the power definitely wasn't that strong, the level of damage was similar.

"So powerful after all!" Yang Xiao muttered to himself, looking at his index finger with excitement. A faint golden light still lingered on his finger, slowly dissipating.

Yang Xiao didn't let excitement overwhelm him. He began focusing on covering his right foot with Holy Light power—just the foot, as currently, Holy Light could only cover an area the size of a palm or sole.

"Go!" Yang Xiao suddenly kicked out, striking the center of the abandoned refrigerator. A dull thud sounded, and the refrigerator was kicked seven or eight meters away by Yang Xiao. A deep dent from the kick remained on it; the refrigerator was completely wrecked.

Yang Xiao didn't stop practicing. He covered various parts of his body with Holy Light, including his eyes.

This time, he was completely astonished. When Holy Light covered his eyes, his vision became at least twice as sharp as before. Objects that were somewhat blurry in the distance were now perfectly clear.

"What if Holy Light covers the brain?" Yang Xiao began to experiment. The Holy Light power entered his brain but could only cover about half of it. Unfortunately, nothing miraculous happened. Yang Xiao only felt his mind was clearer than before.

But this didn't discourage him. The Holy Light Quirk could be said to be very powerful. If trained and improved, its future abilities would definitely rank above all other Quirks.

A few hours later, it was already midnight. Yang Xiao sat on the ground, his head drenched in sweat, resting. Over the past few hours, he had almost cleared all the garbage piled up nearby. This time, he used a mix of brute force and his Quirk, which not only trained his Quirk but also enhanced his physical fitness.

"Time to go back. I have to work part-time tomorrow morning..." Yang Xiao sighed and stood up.

"Hold on, Young Midoriya! Your efforts will be rewarded! Ganbatte!" (Do your best!)

A voice sounded in the distance. Yang Xiao immediately covered his eyes with Holy Light and looked towards the source. He saw Izuku Midoriya carrying a heavy object on his back, like a piece of metal, running with gritted teeth.

Behind Izuku Midoriya, All Might was smiling and cheering him on. He really was a good teacher.

Yang Xiao had no intention of staying. He left directly in another direction. Midoriya trained much later than him. There was no helping it; he was born with poor physical fitness and had to spend a lot of time exercising to withstand One For All.

So, training later was understandable. Getting into U.A. High School was the real goal. For now, Midoriya had no greater aspiration than entering U.A. That was the purpose of his current training.

Yang Xiao was different. He had no relatives in this world. He just needed to live well. There was no need to train so late, especially since he had to work during the day.

Midoriya had a mother at home, so he had less pressure in life. It could be said he had almost no life pressures.

Yang Xiao needed to earn money to support himself. The two situations were different.

However, the Broken House offered two days off per week, or sometimes no days off, but the salary was higher.

You should have two days off a week, Yang Xiao thought, so your body can recover better and achieve better training results.

After returning home, Yang Xiao took a hot bath and went to sleep. The next day, he reported to the Broken House at 8 a.m. as usual. Basically, there were only two or three orders throughout the day.

Yang Xiao felt today's orders were pretty good. He didn't have to clean a stinky ditch like yesterday; instead, someone was moving, and Yang Xiao went to do the heavy lifting.

Yang Xiao actually quite liked moving work; it could exercise his strength. The other orders were almost the same type.

A week later, while on his way to the beach park, Yang Xiao suddenly spotted the dog named Huahua. The dog was scavenging for food in an alley. It looked very dirty, its fur was blackened, and it seemed much thinner.

Just as Yang Xiao was about to go over and pick it up, a man approached from the other side. The man looked to be in his thirties. Seeing Yang Xiao about to pick up the dog, he said, "Kid, go play somewhere else. This dog is mine."

Yang Xiao was stunned for a moment before realizing this guy was trying to claim Huahua for himself. Judging by his demeanor, this definitely wasn't his first time doing this.

"How can you prove this dog is yours?" Yang Xiao said dismissively, "This dog is so dirty, obviously hasn't had a bath in days, and it's skinny. It can't be your dog."

Yang Xiao really wasn't afraid of this man. If he wanted to fight, it would just be a chance to test his Quirk in combat. He hadn't sparred with anyone for months. If this guy didn't know what was good for him, he was truly asking for trouble.

The man was also taken aback. He didn't expect this teenage kid to dare talk back to him. Usually, teenage kids wouldn't dare say another word when he spoke like this. He hadn't expected to run into a busybody today.
