Chapter 1 - Prologue

Fuyuki,Japan

A building of some age stood before two people. One has slightly long blue hair and the other had purple hair, though one could see some hints of brown if you wanted to look really closely.

These two were Shinji Matou and Sakura Matou.

They were running away from someone they wished to avoid at all costs, and Shinji, with his two lives and abilities, was gonna make darn sure they wouldn't be found as easily. Of course, that meant having to take some drastic measures in place, like sealing a parasite inside of the young woman next to him, making sure they couldn't be interfered with.

"Well Sakura, this is it" said Shinji as he turned to look at the girl with his eyes full of hope. "How will this protect us?" she asked in a slightly monotone voice. Shinji looked at her and he swore he would find a way to fix her issues, even if it took a while.

"Well, I'm gonna fortify the place of course" he exclaimed as he placed his hand on the building, and the od within him began to work, and unlike most magus of the world( not counting certain people like a vampire troll) his reserves could not be matched.

Energy began to flow through his magic circuits and something sprang to life. Magecraft, the reenactment of mystery through magical energy replacing the now scientific process through foundations carved into the world.

Reality marbles, pieces of magecraft that come close to magic in the principle, is a work of art in the magecraft of bounded fields. What Shinji is doing is a modification of the principle, turning the shop, the building infront of him, into his own personal territory.

A similarity he thought close to the territory creation skill of caster class servants in a way, for its power.

Of course, a little something more was added by unseen hands, a little touch and modification here and there, to add something really special. In the words of the unseen hands, 'Get screwed Alaya and Gaia!'

"there, does that make you feel more at ease?" asked Shinji with a teasing smile, and while her expression was still somewhat neutral, the corners of her lip creased slightly upward and Shinji knew he won.

"Well, don't just stand there my statuette, lets head inside" Shinji opened the door and offered Sakura inside. She took smooth and graceful steps, the signs of a noble upbringing, even if the nobles were less than less than desirables.

"It looks, okay" she said which was a compliment for her and Shinji nodded and locked the door, setting the boundary now firmly in place. The mana which was infused into the very grain of wood and air particle was dense and palpable, and Sakura seemed to relish in the dense environment, with some adjustments of course.

"So brother" Sakura asked as she turned and faced the brother in question. "What are we gonna do now?" she asked as she tilted her head to the side. It wasn't a bad question, it was important, and Shinji seemed to relish in the mystery brought forth. Maybe his former life was a little dramatic or something.

"We....." he drawled on and though he could have extended it for a long minute, Sakura was already seemingly annoyed by the amount he was doing now, not that the deadpan she showed betraying any of that.

"....are gonna run a restaurant" said Shinji and Sakura looked at him with accusing eyes. "Do you even have the permits for that? And also, wont we be making not a lot for the first few days" Sakura rattled off as her worries seemed to shine through. She was already a little skittish after running away from the accursed manor, but now it seems she was worrying about the future ahead.

"Don't worry dear, the permits and stuff are all in place" said Shinji with a knowing smirk. He had already registered with the Fuyuki prefectural office, with some hypnosis and memory magecraft. There was also the fact he sold off some precious baubles of the Matou clan for a hefty sum of cash.

Little nest egg to sit on.

"Alright, lets clean up a little bit before we go to bed" said Shinji as he snapped his fingers as his magical energy began to hum and thrum as several spells went off all at once, household magecraft developed by experiment obsessed people. If you wanna use a more simpler term, daily life spells.

After everything was put in place, and of course everything being treated for pest and some nasty bacteria, the pair went off to bed, with the air being comfortable and stable in temperature.

The morning sun greeted the two siblings as they began to set up shop, and Shinji of course was making sure he was prepared. Away from his sisters eyes, he began to use his gifts from previous living. Essence of the Gourmand, essence of the archmage, essence of the scholar were the boons given to him.

He conjured the best cooking utensils, made of indestructible metals and mythical alloys lost to the ages. There was already ovens and stoves which he enhanced with his own magical ploys, enchanting them with powerful enchantments to withstand even the most intense of heats. Cooking wasn't a problem, as the essence of the Gourmand already gave his cooking elevation.

Shinji then began to wonder what to cook for breakfast. As he pondered, an Idea came into his head. 'How about a full English breakfast' he thought and he got to work, summoning some strange ingredients to comprise the dish. The caledonian boar for the sausage, vegetables from the garden of Demeter, and eggs from the roc bird.

As he was cooking, the smell seemed to waft upstairs, and Sakura who was deep in sleep, seemed to float with the smell into the kitchen. Her eyes opened grogigly and she asked her brother, "Whats for breakfast?"

"A full english breakfast to start the day" he said as was putting the sausage in the pan. Sakura then found a seat for herself as the rest of the process began to slow down, and the plates made themselves known among them.

The smell was enchanting, and Sakura immediately took a bite and her taste buds, stomach, and her entire body was assaulted by the effects within. The sausage and everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the caledonian boar sausage tender and juicy. The eggs hot and beans well made, and the vegetables themself were divine.

Sakura seemed to enhale the food as she wanted for seconds, and Shinji could only chuckle as he served her more.
