Chapter 231 - [DEM] 231: Chaos

"How dangerous is this method, exactly?" Morpheus asked, curiosity piqued.

Void Shiki replied, "I plan to expel you from this world, sending you to search for the otherworld that's about to collide with ours. Outside the world, there's no distinction of time or space."

"It's like an endless void of chaos. You could easily lose your way in it, unable to find your way back."

Morpheus couldn't help but chuckle. "I thought it was something truly dangerous. This? This is nothing. It won't stop me."

For others, this might be perilous, but for Morpheus, it was hardly a threat.

He had countless followers in this world. Through them, Morpheus could effortlessly navigate back to Earth via the Light Dimension.

There was no risk of getting lost in chaos.

Void Shiki might know this world well, but she didn't know Morpheus. She wasn't one of his followers, unaware of his capabilities or true power.

"Are you sure you won't get lost?"

"Absolutely."

Void Shiki didn't hesitate. "Then start moving. There's no time to waste. You must find and stop that otherworld before it collides with our main world."

"No problem," Morpheus agreed instantly.

Seeing him accept so readily, Void Shiki felt a surge of gratitude. She stepped forward and hugged him. "Thank you for doing this. If you return safely, I hope you'll accept my proposal."

"Proposal? You've got it backward," Morpheus teased. "I should be the one proposing to you."

Void Shiki laughed, her smile radiant with a charming, alluring beauty, as if envisioning a delightful scene. "Alright, if you propose, I'll say yes."

"Nah, I'm too young to be buried in the grave of marriage," Morpheus quipped.

His words made Void Shiki burst into laughter. Suddenly, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the lips.

Morpheus froze for a moment before pulling her close, returning the kiss. When a woman was this forward, he wasn't about to refuse.

After a while, they parted. Void Shiki placed her hands on his chest, gently pushing him back. "In the name of the Root, I banish you beyond this world."

With those words, an invisible force enveloped Morpheus, attempting to expel him from the world.

The force was powerful, but if Morpheus resisted, he could shatter it effortlessly and remain. His power was simply too vast for Void Shiki to banish him without his consent.

But Morpheus had no intention of resisting. He was here to solve the problem, so he withdrew his power, allowing Void Shiki to send him out.

In an instant, Morpheus felt himself soaring, piercing through layers of space, ascending higher and higher.

Earth shrank rapidly in his view—from a vast expanse to a disk-sized orb, then to a tiny bead.

Finally, Earth vanished entirely.

Morpheus had been successfully cast out, arriving beyond the world.

Outside, there was only chaos.

No up, down, left, right, forward, or back—just boundless, formless chaos.

This chaos could dissolve anything. Any living being that entered would be obliterated in an instant, unable to survive.

But Morpheus was different. The Light Dimension provided him with an endless stream of power.

With this strength, he endured the chaos unscathed.

The main world stood out in the chaos like a glowing orb, dazzling and radiant.

Morpheus scanned his surroundings. Without directional cues, he could only circle the main world, gradually expanding his range.

As his search widened, he began to lose himself in the chaos.

Yet, thanks to his followers, he could faintly sense their direction, preventing him from becoming truly lost.

Without the concept of time in chaos, Morpheus couldn't tell how long he wandered—perhaps a day, a year, or even a decade.

Finally, when he was on the verge of numbness, he spotted another glowing orb.

This wasn't the main world but an unknown one.

Unlike the stationary main world, this one moved slowly through the chaos.

Its trajectory was clear: it was heading straight for the main world.

So, this was the otherworld set to collide with the main world?

Morpheus narrowed his eyes, deciding to enter and investigate, then consume it from within.

But as he prepared to act, he encountered a slight problem.

The otherworld seemed to reject his entry, refusing to open its gates.

Of course, Morpheus could force his way in, breaking through with sheer power, but that would cause catastrophic damage to the world.

Instead, he chose a gentler approach.

He crafted a clone—a significantly weakened version of himself—and sent it into the otherworld.

The otherworld rejected Morpheus because his power was too immense; a forceful entry would wreak havoc.

But his clone was different, so weak it posed no threat to the world's integrity.

Thus, the otherworld didn't resist the clone.

Morpheus easily sent it inside.

This was partly due to the world's nature. If it had a distinct consciousness, Morpheus's trick wouldn't have worked.

But this otherworld lacked a clear world consciousness—or perhaps none existed at all.

That's why Morpheus could slip his clone in so effortlessly.

Now, he had to wait.

Wait for his clone to establish a foothold and summon his true self into the world.

Once inside, Morpheus could naturally consume the otherworld, strengthening his Light Dimension.

Without time in chaos, he didn't know how long he'd wait.

But for now, patience was something he had in abundance.

So, Morpheus closed his eyes, slipping into a deep slumber, quietly awaiting the day his clone would call him forth.
