Chapter 87 - [DEM] 87: Annihilation Maker

That was before.

Now, as a Magic God, Morpheus hadn't grown stronger in raw power, but his techniques had become terrifyingly potent.

Combining the might of a Dimension Lord with the methods of a Magic God, Morpheus realized he had become even more formidable.

'I feel ridiculously powerful.'

After achieving Magic God status, Morpheus suspected that Lucifer, the Satan of the Hell, was likely a Magic God as well. If Morpheus could attain this state using Lucifer's collection of grimoires, there was no reason Lucifer couldn't.

Beyond Lucifer, there were probably many Magic Gods in this world.

In Toaruverse, only a few reached this state: Othinus, High Priest, Nephthys, Niang-Niang, Nuada, Chimera, Tezcatlipoca, Proserpina, and so on.

But in this crossover world, there were surely more.

If Lucifer could become a Magic God, there was no reason the God of the Bible, Odin, or Zeus couldn't.

Thus, Magic Gods were likely numerous.

Exactly how many, Morpheus couldn't say. Even as a Magic God, he couldn't fully grasp how many powerful beings this world concealed.

The sheer number of fused elements made it chaotic beyond measure.

Even the supposedly invincible Magic Gods weren't truly invincible here, a testament to the world's profound mystery.

…Okay, that's getting off-topic.

In short, after becoming a Magic God, Morpheus realized the world's depths were even greater than he'd imagined.

But that was fine. He was now a prehistoric titan—no, a true dragon of the deep. No matter how vast the waters, they couldn't drown him.

Morpheus could thrive in this world.

His first thought after becoming a Magic God was to benefit his followers.

So, he placed a bookshelf on the platform he'd created for them.

The bookshelf held numerous grimoires, filled with various convenient spells.

Morpheus explained these spells in plain language, so even a novice could learn them with his guidance.

If his followers wanted to learn, they'd master them without fail.

Morpheus was certain they'd love it.

And he was right.

His followers adored the grimoires, especially the Cat's Eye Sisters, Nanami, and Miko, who each studied spells that suited them.

The Cat's Eye Sisters, for instance, learned theft magic, invisibility magic, and teleportation magic.

With these, they could go anywhere and steal anything without fear of being caught.

Though Morpheus knew they mostly stole from their father, not random people.

Nanami learned healing magic and sleep magic.

These allowed her to provide better service to clients and earn more money.

Miko studied healing magic, exorcism magic, and sealing magic.

Her intentions were obvious.

Saeko learned enhancement magic and god-speed magic, bolstering her physical strength and allowing her to move at supersonic speeds with astonishing swiftness.

Others picked up various spells as well.

Each mastered a unique skill.

Morpheus was deeply pleased.

As for his Heroic Spirits, they learned auxiliary magic. Already powerful, they didn't need destructive spells.

Auxiliary magic suited them better.

Karna, for example, learned restoration magic, enabling him to repair damaged objects. This meant he could fight without holding back.

If he destroyed something, he could restore it afterward with restoration magic.

With his strength, this was well within his capabilities.

He also learned spatial magic.

If bystanders were present during a battle, he could create a mirror dimension, trapping his enemies inside.

Within the mirror dimension, he could unleash his full power without affecting the real world.

This mirror dimension, by the way, was Morpheus's creation, adapted from spatial magic after becoming a Magic God.

Incredibly useful.

The Demon King of the Sixth Heaven, Oda Nobunaga, learned summoning magic, allowing her to conjure hordes of elemental puppets.

In life, she nearly unified Japan, and commanding armies was second nature to her.

She learned this magic to summon puppets in battle, indulging her desire to play the general.

But in truth, she wasn't most interested in summoning magic.

She coveted Morpheus's Sacred Gear, Annihilation Maker.

It was far more exciting than summoning puppets.

With enough imagination, she could create an unprecedented army of magical beasts.

Nothing appealed to Oda Nobunaga more.

She pestered Morpheus for days, begging him to give her Annihilation Maker.

He refused.

Morpheus knew her chaotic nature. If he gave it to her, who knew what havoc she'd wreak?

So he rejected her outright.

Besides, he had plans for Annihilation Maker.

He didn't need it for combat but to enrich his food stores.

Having absorbed a Gourmet World fragment, Morpheus gained access to vast ingredients, including some animals.

But compared to the complete Toriko world, these were too scarce.

So, he used Annihilation Maker to create more.

For example, his Light Dimension had roast whole pigs. Using Annihilation Maker, he crafted roast whole cows, dogs, snakes, sheep, chickens, and more.

From the puffer whale, he created puffer fish, shrimp, crabs, sharks, manatees, and other foods.

He also made garlic chickens, fish, shrimp, cows, sheep, and so on.

This expanded his ingredient repertoire immensely. Though they were magical beasts, their flavors were delectably exquisite, leaving people in awe.

Lately, Morpheus had been eating so well his mouth practically glistened with oil.

With such a useful tool, he wasn't about to give it to Oda Nobunaga.

Not a chance.
