Chapter 1 - Arrival.

I failed.

Despite being leagues above them, I failed.

Failed to drop the meteor, failed to succeed humanity…

The plan was concerted, it was perfect. I found no flaw in it, it was supposed to be unstoppable.

But, despite that, the Avengers found a way to undo my effort.

Even without harmony, without union, without being one, they pull it through and beat my best.

And to think that damn Start succeeded in tinkering with my perfect vessel…

But… despite that, the world won't be the same.

After all, nothing remains forever. The world, in spite of it, will judge them for their mistakes.

In the end, they will fall with the weight of their own consciences and guilt…

They'll tear themselves apart, while everyone else will stand there cheering them on.

In the end, they lose. All they do is just delay the obvious.

And yet, despite my obvious eventual victory, why do I feel… empty?

Is it because I failed? Unlikely, I have succeeded in my goal to tear apart the Avengers, making sure of their downfall.

And without them, the world will evolve. With or without me.

And yet, why do I still feel… lackluster?

Is it because… I failed her?

Seems very likely, considering that I basically killed her brother with my hand.

But still, why could she blame me for that, since he jumped in the bullet…?

Is it hatred? One which drives them against others? To inflict further pain on their own blood?

How odd… to not consider others' options, and instead believe in their own tunnel vision 'till the very end…

And then, there's the final words of my supposed "vision" before my eventual departure….

Such naive thought, thinking there's beauty in their chaotic system… Seems like he's convinced by their lies, after all…

Worst of all, to think that he claims I fear him is ridiculous…

I am supposed to be perfect, how could I feel such emotions towards him? Why should I fear my vision, the supposed last me?

… Yet, despite that, why do I feel like his words were… truth… at that moment…?

Whatever, concerning all that is meaningless now. What could it do good to a ghost like me?

… Speaking of which, where am I? Some kind of limbo?

Wait? Those are… information? Website?

Is this… my world? Am I survived?

How? I'm certain that they burned me all over the internet? So what is this place?

Time to dig in again…

… Okay, seems like I'm not on Earth, or at least my Earth, anymore.

Most information is still the same as what I knew, but there's some major details that vastly prove that this isn't where I originally came from.

First, is the Spacequake. According to what I found, it's a phenomenon occurring randomly, blowing everything to dust at once. Everything started with the first one, which wiped out most of Eurasian and claimed the lives of 150 million 30 years ago…

After that, humanity suddenly took a huge leap in their economy and technology, making many achievements that reached further than my old world could ever have been.

War was also reduced to the lowest point it ever was after the catastrophe, and while it's not entirely disappeared, I could still accept this rate.

And they claim that I was wrong, when all of this happened… As I thought, a push is required for a better world…

How short-sighted they all are, clinging on a sinking ship while also denied a solution…

But still, this is where things got weird.

The first Spacequake happened in 2011, which obviously never happened as far as I know, and now is 2041.

This didn't make sense a bit, so I ran countless theories about all of this. And yet, in the end, the only one that makes sense is also the least believable one.

I'm… in another universe, one that is never my own.

To be honest, the whole thing isn't that farfetched, since I already confirmed the relevancy of the multiverse theory.

That explains why I have my access to this domain once again, and there's seemingly no information of the Avengers anywhere outside of fictional works.

I also see some worlds that depict me in such fictional work, as a maniac who just kills for the sake of it… not that it concerns me a bit.

Now, is the interesting part.

The second difference from my world, the Spirits.

The information of them is significantly more secure than other sections, even more than that of nuclear warheads. But still, they're mere windows for me to break through.

And the information I found, let's just say that they seem a bit out of this world.

The Spirits are those humanoid creatures from other worlds, holding such astounding power that can rival a whole nation, while also invulnerable to most weapons.

They are also the cause of those Spacequakes, which kinda explain the reasons the space in those events are seemingly forcefully stretched away by some weird force, as if to make for something else to come through.

Still, despite coming from another universe like me, they look… to humans to begin with. In fact, I could say they are humans, just with power.

Yet, despite the obvious looks, none of the nations ever suspect anything of what's going on with that and tend to fight them head on, which never actually harms them in any way for the past 30 years.

Typical humans, always resort to violence when encountering the unknown…

Third, which is pretty odd, is that the Spacequakes just recently erupted again after a long dormant period, and are all focused around the city of Tengu.

Even the fool would begin to notice something odd with this peculiar rate, of how the catastrophe seemingly only happened in a small city in an island nation…

Hm… Time to take a tour to the city then.

… ?

This is…?

Where… am I?

What… is this?

My view… It's so bright.

I don't remember the void being this…bright before… or ever will…

After taking some time to adjust my eyes, I finally see something, something new.

Not the usual empty void… But an open sky.

A beautiful grand blue sky, stretching endlessly.

It so different from the usual empty darkness I always feel, it feel so… bright

It feels filled with something more than the empty space can provide…

It feels so warm, so magnificent. It felt more than that gloomy place…

I unconsciously slowly raised my hand toward the sky, trying to get a grasp of such scenery

"!!"

Suddenly, I feel something rapidly closing the distance and instinctively jump away, as it then crashes down on where I just stand.

And then, without a moment to spare, the figure immediately lunged toward me with the blade already in motion toward my heart.

But still, despite their surprise effort, I stomp my leg backward while calling forth my strongest arms.

"!!"

A majestic throne manifested from the ground striking the figure attack, as the others then made some weird sound and fell back behind.

"I'll kill you!!!"

The others grunting at me with a despise tone, as much more than hovering in the sky, all bearing hostility toward me.

Without hesitation, I quickly draw a broadsword, the almighty , out of the throne and point it at those newly arrived.

Although I still do not understand why those being wanted to attack me, I won't just let them do whatever they like…!!

"Commander, the AST are now engaged in the battle with the new Spirit."

Sitting at his desk before the screen, the young man with blond hair reports back to the command chair.

"Tch, those AST again…"

Complaining with what happened on the screen with an annoying voice, is a child with red twin tails holding her favourite lollipop with a serious expression which vastly contrasts with the look.

They're the members onboarding the , the advanced airship currently hovering on the battlefield, and are now broadcasting every detail of the fight to the crew.

"Confirmed the Spirit codename: ."

"Tch…"

The twin tails commander huffing more annoyed with these revelations, as everyone else continues to further analyze the fight.

(Dang it… If only the plan went through their empty heads…)

Thinking about a certain blue-hair brother with a hint of tiredness, the twin tails let out a sigh as she continued to overwatch the fight..

"… What's the sound?"

The twin tails suddenly caught a hint of flicker and asked the crew, but everyone just looked at her with a confused expression.

"Sound? We heard nothing, commander."

"… My bad, maybe I just heard it wrong."

The twin tails shake her head to get over it and turn to observe the fight right now, as she missed the only hint of something else infiltrating the ship…

Interesting… such an advanced airship just hanging here.

For their credits, this is quite something. Even I'm had to take quite a while to actually gain access to this place.

And to think such formidable crew were led by a 13 year old, how ridiculous. Humans are truly… weird, to say the least.

But still, using the namesake of the world tree for this airship… can't say that it was arrogant or just the sound of it…

Time to take a peek at their secret…

… Hm?

This is… I see…

Not only humans love to end themself, they're also hypocrites at that.

They wished to save the Spirit, yet they never acted like one.

And to think they didn't want to interfere, despite having such a tool at their proposal…

Well—Hm?

This is… a live feed? From the ground?

From the look of it, it looks like the Spirit's fighting the AST, with her totally one-sided it.

How noble, I must say, to consider even those annoying fly lives more than herself, although I doubt they're worth the privilege of her grace.

If I remember correctly, the AST is short for Anti-Spirit Team, a direct branch within the Japan Self-defense Force in this world, responsible for dealing with Spirits.

But still, despite being equipped with technologies that can tap into the essence of reality itself, the , they're still not worthy opponents for the Spirits.

All they do up until now is to stall them until they become Lost, the human term of the Spirit vanishes from this reality, or simply runs away.

So they're just a substitute unit, deployed to stall time until the Spirit leaves this world, or in the worst case, runs away.

And while all of this happened, the crew on this airship, the so-called , just watched the whole thing.

They're all just sitting there, watching the Spirit get tormented by those under, yet they dare to claim themself as the Spirit "savior" …

Speaking of which, who's this Spirit? I didn't see her in the database earlier, so she must be new here…

New…

…

Well… might as well try it, not like I have any grudge with Spirits though…

At a certain factory, where they produced the mysterious machine known as the , a section suddenly began to work without any command.

No one ever pays attention to such errors, as they're still busy with other machinery, and the section begins to construct something… weird.

The machinery line quickly finished their creations, one that didn't in their main function, as the thing started to activate and sneakily got out of the compound without being found out…

"!!"

Screaming my final sword, I cut the throne in half as its fragment attached all on my , forming a giant single-edge zanbato sword.

And then, with all my energy gathered in the sword, I swing it toward the mecha mecha squad, the name I came up with just now for all of them, as they frantically scramble away.

A loud boom could be heard from my slash direction, as decimated the whole direction and barely missed them all.

After that, seemingly distraught by my attack, the mecha mecha squad retreated back away, safe for one which is now sprinting towards me.

"Die, Spirit!!"

With a scream filled with hate, they continued to throw slashes on me, which is pretty useless as I easily dodge them all with ease.

And so, with my patience now vanished entirely, I kicked them far away with full force without an ounce of care.

Yet, despite the overwhelming power I just show, the others still continue their onslaught on me with those toys of theirs.

But still, while blocking their effort with ease, I somehow feel uncomfortable.

Why?

I just didn't get it… why are they so dedicated to this…?

What's the reason for them to do this, despite the clear differences in strength…?

Why can't they just… let me alone?

Suddenly, as I was still frowning about all of this, I suddenly felt the arrival of something else… something weird…

Then, after my notice, the mecha mecha squad suddenly stopped their assault on me, and after some moment of quiet, suddenly left the place just like when they arrived.

What the… after the whole attacking thing, they just… left?

What's with their actions? Why are they even here? Why am I here, instead of sleeping in the void?!

"Hello there, milady."

"?!"

As I was still puzzled about the whole thing, someone's voice creeped into my ears as I subconsciously drew my up as another one that I felt earlier, slowly made its way to me from the sky.

As the thing gets closer to me, I also have more clear looks on it… and slowly feel stressed, even more than with the mecha mecha squad.

Although bearing humanoid shape, it looks nothing like those earlier. It's merely a bunch of metal and wires tangled together, making it all intimidating.

Yet, somehow, despite such a broken body, it's still acting all calmly… which honestly did frighten me out a bit, but not that much annoying like with those earlier.

"Are you… trying to kill me too?"

I asked the thing, now mere steps away from me, with a doubtful look as it then slowly spoke with me with an emotionless tone.

"If I wished so, why would I send the squad away?"

"Eh?"

What the… Wait, did it mean that the reason they leave is because of it?

"… You did that?"

"Indeed, milady."

I reluctantly asked about my concern, as it immediately confirmed it with a joking tone…

But still, after knowing his good will in chasing them away, I still have not dropped my . After all, how could I relax myself in front of such amalgamation?

"Still uncertain isn't it? Well, not like I didn't get it considering my outlook right now."

Seemingly seen through my concern, it speaks up with a rather uninterested manner yet neutral tone, as my creeps in it keep building up—

"Well then, since we seem like on a good term for now, may I ask you one thing?"

"… Speak."

With hesitation slowly rising inside, I reluctantly allowed it to speak as it let out a small huff of laughter and proposed a question.

"Would you like to hang out?"

"… What?"

What is that question? Hang out…?

"Are you j—"

"Why would I try to mess with you? What will it help me?"

"Hm…?"

I slightly raised my eyebrow, as the thing still explains it all.

"I just wanted us to go around, seeing new things around here."

"Well, since we're both from other worlds, why not see new things 'round here? Talking about things we've been through?"

"…"

It's… right.

I did feel interested in this world. To feel the life I never have.

I'm tired of that void, of being unable to do anything back then.

But still, I just can't blindly follow the word of such a creature I just met.

And yet, despite that, I did want to spend time in this new realm, to see more than those mecha girls and the grand sky…

… Wait, did it just say something weird?

"Did you just say… we're from other worlds?"

"Yes, well, not exactly from yours, but you get the idea…"

So it's from another place, just like me…?

… Ugh, this day just became more and more complicated for me to chew!!

"Fine! I'll go out with you! But if you try anything funny—"

"Yeah yeah, you'll kill me. Already heard that."

Against my expectation, the thing seemed a bit lackluster in its reaction to my threat. In fact, I don't recall it to express any emotion at all from start to end.

"Well then—"

As it's trying to say something, my consciousness suddenly faded into darkness…

Ah—

So this is what being Lost looks like?

Looking at where the Spirit, now namely , just stood a moment ago, I squinted my eyes in Spirit with curiosity.

To be honest, I thought this is gonna be trickier since this is her first time around here. Hostility, yes, but still smoother than talking with a brick.

And to think none of them ever try to actually communicate with her and opt to attack first, how primitive.

[Krk…]

… As I thought, this body is no good. Too hard to move, yet too frail to do anything.

If only I wasn't so eager to see her back then… Oh well, it happened.

Besides, who wouldn't be excited with such an opportunity? To have such a naive yet powerful being just standing here all alone, afraid, confused…

… Moving on.

Since I secured a date with the Spirit, might as well put some effort in it, starting with the look.

And, as much as I hated to admit it, Stark might be the perfect role model for this.

With that, I swiftly leave this body behind, as it's too much of a bother to move in it again.

I wonder though, how will they react with this little conversation of ours…

"What in the god word is that?!"

Edging on the commander seat with worry, the twin tails glue her eyes on the screen now featuring communicated with some kind of a broken cyborg, as the crew frantically try to identify it in vain.

Without any warning or announcement, that thing just suddenly pops up in the camera which makes everyone here going wild.

After some minutes, they determined that this new arrival possessed no Spirit property.

In fact, as far as they know, it's not even human at all…

All analysis shows that this thing is a machine, with the analysis being fully accurate, leaving everyone in awe.

Not even , the most advanced AI this world has to offer which also controls this airship, could act more human than this thing…

And yet, it's right there in front of their eyes, casually talking with the Spirit.

Worse, the thing then begins to communicate with the Spirit, claiming that it's behind the AST departure, and even asks her out for a… date…

The twin tails scratched her head in disbelief while everyone else was puzzled with the absurdity and irony of this situation.

Luckily, the calculation shows that the Spirit 's affection toward it didn't increase one bit, so their plan may still be salvaged in time.

But still, for the sake of their plan, and considering how odd the situation's calling forth, they have to pay extra attention to this anomaly.

The problem is, they're still figuring out how to exactly do that, since that thing just popped out of nowhere…

"Tch… not only the Spirit, now we have to deal with this… machine… Hm?!"

The twin tails mumbling with disbelief while watching the screen, but then the figure suddenly falls down, shocking everyone.

"Huh?"

With a union expression, the crew once again checked the being and quickly came to the conclusion that it had simply been deactivated.

"Take that thing onboard!"

Taking such a chance, the twin tails decide to retract it back on the , for further inspection, as everyone just quietly complies with it.

(Let's see what the hell is this thing!!)

With a new found goal the twin tails make her way out of the commanding room along with others, eager to dissect the anomaly to the core…
