Chapter 3 - Date.

"Hm…"

Looking at the screen of them flying, the twin tails frown in annoyance yet curious, as of everyone else.

In normal circumstances, they would freak out with the sigh of a human flying along a Spirit… if not for the fact that they're already seen its true form.

In fact, immediately after seeing its real body after turning off the coat, they immediately begin to analyze it, not after expressing a shocking reaction towards it.

Right now half of the crew are in the back trying to get a better look at it, which ends horribly as every detector they have suddenly breaks down every time they try to do that.

So, as of this moment, they can only work with the image and audio from its earlier conversation with , which isn't going anywhere.

And, while the crew is still working on what they currently have, the other one is paying close attention to any of the couple's movements trying to get a grasp of the drone's true nature.

"But still, why would they leave Tengu city?"

Asked the twin tails with slightly raised eyebrows, all while practically gluing her eyes on the screen.

In response, one of the crew members, the girl with long black hair, raises her hand.

"May I, commander?"

"Shiizaki, what's wrong?"

"Based on what it says, I think that this thing just simply wanted to change location for their… date…"

"Hm…"

The twin tails face darkened with the girl's hypothesis, but she's not respond back and just returned to staring at the couple, albeit with a more agitated expression.

"Changing location huh…"

Mumbling with herself, the twin tails let out a sigh unknowingly to all other members…

After flying for some time, we finally touched down at some weird place, which to his explanation is an alley…

… And to be honest, for some reasons, I feel a bit familiar yet conflicted.

"Hey?"

"What is it, princess?"

"This place… isn't this just like where we parted from?"

Yep, what I'm curious about is the look of this place. It didn't look that different from where I come into, albeit a lot more organized.

So why, if this place and the earlier one isn't that different, it dragged me all the way here?

"Oh that…"

The thing frowned a bit with my question, then just casually spilled it out.

"Well, can't exactly enjoy ourselves in rubble, can we?"

"Rubble?"

"Those messy where you manifested, remember?"

It is? I don't remember any of them…

… Wait, I remembered!

"You mean those scatters around when I wake up right?"

"Yeah, and everyone is not really up to date when hiding from the Spacequake, so the city at the mean time is in total lock down ."

Huh, so that's why everything is oddly quie—Wait.

What did it just say?

"What do you mean by Spacequake?"

"Oh, well it's not much of a biggie though, just a slight aftermath of your arrival in this world."

I widened my eyes with its explanation, as my mind quickly shifted back to when I first woke up here.

Everywhere is a mess, like there's something going on even before I got there…

But, if what this thing says is true, then… could it be…

"I… made that?"

"Pretty much, you also forced the whole city to… ya know, hiding in fear."

"…"

A weirdly disgusting feeling suddenly swept through me, but I ignored it and followed the thing as it started to point something to me.

"Could you replicate that with your ?"

"Hm?"

I look at the direction it points to another one who looks just like those mecha mecha squad, albeit with different clothes… probably, I still have no idea what it is.

That one was wearing some kind of long clothes over the bottom along with something white on top…

Ugh! I swear if I have time, I have to study all of that!

"… I think I can."

With a single thought, my started to glow a bit, before completely changing into the same one as that one.

… Feel a bit lighter, not bad though.

"How do I look?"

"You look gorgeous."

… Huh.

I was stunned for a moment with its straightforward compliment for some reasons before regaining my composure.

… What the heck was that?

Whatever, that doesn't matter one bit…

"So what're you gonna do?"

"Well, first…"

The thing then stepped out of the alley, with me slowly making way behind.

And immediately, a lot of… those mecha squad, just casually walking around.

"Be patient, princess. They're not like those who attacked you."

"…"

As I subconsciously tried to summon , the thing quickly whispered to me with an assurance… and after some more thought, I dispelled my .

… That's right, no need for me to freak out like this.

With such thoughts to calm myself down, I follow the thing toward a building, where many more are sitting in front of it drinking, chatting…

"This is…?"

"It's called a coffee shop."

The thing quickly established the place to me, as it then walked toward something and pulled it out, while I just stood there puzzled.

"What are you doing?"

"Just trying to be a gentleman, please take a seat."

… Still feeling a bit reluctant with how much of… the mecha squad… around here, I sit down on it albeit with worries.

After that, someone else walked towards us with something in hand, which edged me with concerns.

But, to my surprise, that one just hands it, and me, a thin paper or some sort with a bright smile.

Not attack me, shoot at me, swear at me with threats… just smiling.

"Hello, may I ask for your order?"

"We'll take 2 frappuccinos, and…"

As the thing began to speak with them, I stared at the outside where everyone was just casually walking, smiling, chatting…

A peaceful scenery, so to say. Totally contrary to those mecha squads, who only speak with violence.

… They look so peaceful, so carefree, like they have nothing to worry about…

"They're humans."

As I started to indulge with those walking out there, the thing suddenly spoke up, breaking my attention.

"They're flawed, more than you can ever think of. They're bloodlust, narcissistic, greedy…"

The thing, as if talking with itself with a silent tone, looks at the outside with an empty gaze while I, suddenly struck by such hostile comments, just sitting there listening to its words.

Even by just listening to its words, I could still understand its sheer hatred and spite towards those… human… as if it has experienced it all…

… Seems like this thing has been a lot before me it would seem.

"My bad, am I being too annoying?"

Then, right as I started to think more about its word, the thing then apologized to me.

"It's… nothing."

"Ah, okay…"

I let out a dry smile with it, and that thing, seemingly bought my smile, then looked back at the street with that same empty gaze…

… Hm…

I, following it gaze, again look at everyone else just casually doing all their things…

 "… emotional meter is stable."

"Hm…"

On board, everyone else looked at their conversation with a hint of discomfort…

Despite the fact the , one of their targets, still not showing any change in affection… they somehow still feel a bit uneasy with the anomaly.

The thing they are clearly concerned about, is clearly hatred towards humanity with its speech just now.

Even through the two layers of speaker and the drone, they can clearly understand its sheer hatred and contempt with humanity…

… But the clearest evidence for their fear is its eyes.

Those empty, darkened gazes have frightened them for a bit, as if the thing there isn't a drone or robot or any puppet… but an actual living human expressing its emotions…

"To think that I'm actually frightened by a man behind a screen… How ridiculous!"

The twin tails, after a moment of dazed, scream with full Spirit which in turn awaken others from the gloomy atmosphere.

"Concentrate everyone, don't let such a drone fool you guys!!"

The twin tails then encourage everyone on board, and the atmosphere slowly regains its usual one..

… Still, although acting like that, the twin tails still have some doubt inside.

Nonetheless, the twin tails decided to let it go for now and returned to watching the couple and, along with everyone, missed the steadily increasing affection level chart of .

"Here's your order ~"

"Eh?"

After a while of just quietly watching the scenery, the earlier one returns and places something on the thing in front of us, then goes back inside leaving me with those stuff.

Eto… What are these?

With curiosity, I started to poke the thing in front of me.

Doesn't seem dangerous, although it did seem weird…

"… What are you doing?"

As I was still poking it, the thing, now awake from its gaze, called out for me.

"What is this?"

"It is called frappucinos, one of the drinks humans drink."

"Hm…"

Frappuccino, drink… I don't really get it…

"You do this…"

Seemingly seen through my confusion, the thing then held a thing poke out of the "frappucino" and proceeded to put it in its mouth.

"Then you just suck the drink with your mouth."

Hm… Suck it?

With a slight concern wavering inside, I then follow its demonstration…

… Eh?

"It's… good."

A sweet taste overflowed in my mouth, as my eye subconsciously widened with surprise.

No wonder humans like this drink… It tastes so good~!

I then proceed to suck this frappucino all out, as the thing just silently observes me.

And before I know it, there's nothing more to suck out.

I then startle for a bit, looking between the frappucino and the thing, before realizing that I drank it all.

"Oh… um…"

"Want mine?"

The thing then asked me with an indifference tone, while pushing his frappuccino to me.

"Really?!"

"Yeah, not that I can drink it at all…"

The thing shrugged with the response, as my mood suddenly plummet down with his.

Right, almost forget that its situation is the same as mine…

"Sorry, it seems like I'm full."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I'm suppppper full now ~!"

I stretched my shoulder with a cheerful smile, not letting it respond at all, and asked it again.

… Yeah, even not knowing much, I don't think that it will buy this terribl—

"Well then, shall we continue?"

"… Eh?"

But to my surprise, the thing just let out a dry smile and stood up beside me, which kinda froze me in place.

… Well, not that I wanted to deny his question though…

"Y-yeah…"

"Great, wait for a bit please."

With that it went inside the building, and I just sat here all alone. And without much to do, I decided to watch the outside again…

To be honest, the whole thing is boring, but somehow pretty intriguing for me.

Humans… they seem weak, fragile even. And honestly, after being attacked by those mecha squads, I thought that everyone would be the same as them.

But, with the whole thing unfolding before my very eyes, I started to doubt… Is my thought even held up?

Humans don't act like what it describes, they look pretty peaceful, energetic, full of life.

In fact, seeing how they communicated with each other like this, I even started to doubt its words.

Are humans actually that bad according to its word?

"Come here, you b*tch!!"

As I was still looking for the answer for my conflicts now started to swarm within, I caught a threatening voice nearby.

Looking in the direction, I see two humans dragging another one into an alley in a suspicious manner.

Yet, to my surprise, even though it happened in front of a lot of other humans, none of them even bat an eye to it… No, they did see what happened, yet still decided to walk away…

… What the? What's up with those humans?!

With an angry thought, I quickly launched myself toward the alley.

Immediately as I arrived at the place, one of the humans was already lying on the ground, face full of the weird red liquid.

"Ugh…"

I suddenly feel disgusted by the sight of that liquid, as I switch my gaze toward the other 2 humans now beginning to notice my presence.

"Ho, such a beauty ~"

"What are you doing beauty ~ Looking for some extreme experiences ~ ?"

Both of them, who look pretty tough compared to those walking outside, begin to talk with a sweet voice…

… Which is truly disgusting. Like, what are they trying to do doing all of that??

And apparently, I accidentally express my disgust out of their face, as their face begins to shift to a violent one.

"You b*tch!! What's with that face?!"

"You wanna mess with us or what??"

Both of them then tried to approach me, with a hint of lust lurking deep in their angry gaze—

—But then one of them falls to the ground, as separates the one head from its body.

… Hm? That's it? Those mecha squads are tougher than this.

Also, what is this liquid spilling from them? That feels pretty disturbing…

"W-what…"

The other, seeing what I just did, started to fall down with a pale expression, frantically crawling away from me.

"Monster…"

And the other one, who was just beaten up by those 2, started to tremble uncontrollably with a bewildered yet terrified look…

… Just like those mecha squads.

"Hm?"

"GET AWAY YOU MONSTER!!!!!!!!!"

I slightly stiffen my eyes in confusion with their eyes, as the other one suddenly screaming all afraid while shaking.

… Monster? Those words… are the same as them, that mecha squad.

But why such words at this time? Is it because… of what I did?

As I was still puzzled by their frightful words, a big crowd started to form outside looking in my direction with a curious yet horrified gaze.

"What the… Did she just—"

"No way?!"

"She's… killed them?!"

What the… what's with those hostility gaze?

What are they planning to do with me?! Are they all—with those squads?!

But before I could get any answer, my gaze then shrouded in total darkness once more…

Ku—

"Commander… Lost status confirmed…"

"… "

Ignoring the clearly disturbing voice of the crews, the twin tails just stare blatantly at the screen which was showing the Spirit a moment ago.

Out of all the time, she became Lost in this exact crucial moment…

They have seen what happened from beginning to end, and all are very, very concerned about the whole thing.

For all of the crew here for the first time… they saw a Spirit kill someone else on screen.

But, worst of all, the Spirit didn't seem to express any remorse for doing that—

—As if she didn't even understand what it meant to die.

And this is quite troublesome for them.

First, with how the behave, they can determine that she has no common knowledge of their world, unlike other Spirits they have encountered, or learned about.

Secondly, the fact she could just casually rely on brute force with that many people there would mean the AST will take more extreme measures for her.

Combining all of that, they determined that the was proven to be quite a problem for their "secret weapons" to get her…

Although, unlike the crew members, the twin tails have a slightly different conclusion…

The whole bridge falls into deep quiet, until the door suddenly slides open and reveals the Head Analysis.

"I'm back—What's wrong?"

"It's... nothing."

Noticing the unusual yet disturbing quiet atmosphere, the pale blue-haired lady asked with a neutral tone, as the twin tails responded with a hint of trembling.

"Anyway, why are you here Reine? Is the analysis on the anomaly finished?"

"About that…"

The pale blue-haired lady handed out the tablet to the twin tails, as her eyes slowly widened with surprise yet doubtful after carefully dissecting it.

"This is…"

"As you see, commander, the Round Table is finally paying attention to the plan again. The result will come in a few days, but there is a high chance that they'll pass it through."

"… I see."

The twin tails let out a sigh in response to the Analysis casual response, as everyone else started to look at their way with varied expressions.

And for such reasons, none of them could realize the figure of their anomaly has vanished from their screen…

Well, the date ruined.

Didn't think she'd become Lost that fast. Even taking a kill before leaving.

I wonder how those on the airship will react to this? Vomit?

Still what a shame, I have prepared so much for her… Well, that was kinda on me.

Damn human, always meddle with everything—

—Wait no, she's the one who does all that.

Hm… Oh well.

But the Lost phenomenon, it's truly fascinating. I'll have to look into it..

Still, despite that, I did get some info about her wellbeing, so the whole wasn't that much of a failure.

Although, she was more naive than I expected… like that of a child.

Unlike the previous Spirit, who at least showed some common knowledge, this one is like a newborn baby.

Well, that explains why she acts all… cute…

… Damn, can't believe I just said that. But credit where credit is due.

Besides, not like I bear any grudge with her or anything.

At least she could still communicate… but her lack of knowledge is truly intriguing.

… Although, I have to admit that her departure is quite impressive. To kill someone else in less than a second is not an everyday feat.

Well, should probably organize more private dates for her in the future.

Since our date was interrupted, what should I do next…

There's so much to do, yet so little time…

Probably should begin with improving this body.

The technology in this world is pretty outstanding, even for me, so much so that I took quite some time just to make a new body with a basic camouflage function.

Because of that, I can't actually install any weapon on it. And honestly, walking around empty-handed like this feels weird…

… Is this how the Americans feel?

For that, I'd need to put extra times, and effort into making the best body I could during this time…

Not to mention I have to improve on the facility. That place's a mess, but it's the best I got for now.

But first… since I plan to shut in for a long time, might as well bail her out of that facility first.

… It's not like I pity her or anything.

Her power, as I read from those DEM top secret files, seems really useful for my future plan.

If the information I read from the DEM are correct, then she'd be a valuable asset to my plan in this world.

Besides, having a Spirit in debt, even if she does not acknowledge it, is something I'd need to utilize.

But most importantly, letting her spend more time in that wretched lab doesn't sit right with me.

After all, I am perfect, and a perfect being doesn't wait for others to take action…
