Seraphine's POV
My skull felt like it was splitting in half when consciousness finally returned to me. The pounding in my head reminded me of my foolish decision the night before. Wine had never touched my lips until yesterday when I consumed three full glasses like water.
I threw off the covers and stumbled to my feet, immediately noticing the glass of orange juice and pair of white pills waiting on my nightstand. A folded piece of paper lay beside them.
"Take these with the juice for your headache."
My pulse quickened as I stared at the items. Who could have entered my room without my knowledge? I spun toward the door, confirming it remained locked from the inside. Cold dread crept up my spine. Someone had access to my private space through a hidden entrance I knew nothing about.
A gentle rap on the door interrupted my racing thoughts. On unsteady legs, I made my way over and pulled it open to find Aleena waiting in the hallway.
