When Hades walked through the hallway of the castle, everyone immediately dropped to one knee before him. The movement happened almost instinctively, a wave of submission spreading through the corridor as servants, guards, and attendants bowed their heads the moment his presence passed them. None of them dared to lift their heads or to even look into his eyes. Though their faces also twist with fear, their body instinctively knew better than not to admire the man who stood on the pinnancle of power.
It had always been like this.
At first, people feared him. That fear lingered in their stiff shoulders and lowered gazes. But eventually, once they felt the sheer weight of his authority and power, that fear would bend into obedience. Kneeling became a habit that these people would do to show their loyalty to him, either out of amazement or fear that his power would turn as a blade to their peaceful life.
