And there it was.
Her lifeless body laying in front of me as if though I had done it.
When I look out Danniel's window,I see Carlos standing by my bedroom window with a gun in his hand.
I'm so glad our windows are right across each other's.
"Thank you."I mouth and he exhales as if though he was holding in a deep breath and nods.
I immediately unlock the door and run out to meet Danniel and Carlos.
"Xavier told us everything!We're so sorry you got dragged in all of this."Danniel says hugging me as tight as possible.
"It's okay."I whisper.
I don't know why but for some reason I had a feeling they would save me...again.
"It's not.You're set for college in a few weeks.You don't need this right now.I can't believe I let her play me."He says gritting his teeth.
I break the hug and reassure him that it wasn't his fault. "She played us all.It's not your fault."
He then kisses my forehead and says,
"I'm glad Carlos didn't miss.I didn't think he would anyways.He never does."He scoffs.
Carlos...
"I told you I'd always protect you Thea. I'm just glad it's not a one man job anymore."He smiles.
I can't help but smile back.
"I was going to shoot her myself but I was too busy rearranging Xavier's face and forcing him to tell us the truth so I sent Carlos to take care of the trash instead."
I quickly run into my house and find him walking down the stairs.
When he sees me he rushes over to pick me up and spin me.
"Are you okay Calithea?"He whispers.
"Yeah.Thanks to you."I whisper back.
"I'm sorry the past few days have been hectic for you..."
"It's alright."
We break the hug and join Danniel outside.
"So what's going to happen with her..."I ask.
"Already taken care of.I've got men for that Calithea."Danny firmly replies.
I don't know why but that sent shivers through my entire body.
"Do you have any other enemies I should be on the lookout for?"
They don't respond.
"What!There are more!"I realize I sound crazy but I'm done dodging bullets for them.
"Calm tf down.Fuck"Danny groans.
Carlos chuckles and hugs me from behind.
"You're safe."He whispers.
Being able to feel his heartbeat is so calming.
"Alright alright break it up you two."Danny teases.
We all laugh and go back to Danny's house.
"So...Carlos...any college plans?"I ask.
"Well...actually...I was thinking of going to LA university and exploring a new interest..."He says biting his lower lip while focusing on mine.
Pinch me.
"LA...I'm going there too."
"Exactly..."He says smiling at me.
I can't help but smile back.
"I'm going there too!Thanks for asking!"Danny cheers causing us to laugh.
"You know...I wouldn't be surprised if you two got married."He teases.
Carlos does nothing but stare at me as if though he's deep in thought or holding back his answer to Danniel's words.
This makes me nervous so I look down and smile.
"Looking forward to college..."I say changing the subject.
"Yeah.Can't wait."They say in unison.
