Chapter 1 - prologue

A long time ago, when the first king had ruled, the gods had feared the demon king betraying them. they had extended an offer to the first king, they had ask us to birth their kin so they could protect both gods and humans. Not knowing their deceit the first king agreed to their deal, for the first seventeen years humans, gods and demons lived in uneasy peace once again. Till the first mother died, one who had given birth to the god's kin, withering away day after day no one had understand why she had died. Then another and another dropping like flies, the first king had investigated and came to the conclusion that the gods had schemed a way to kill off their wives leaving the humans weak. Filled with anger the humans had taken their rightful revenge by killing off the god's kins marking them with a name of Keepers, a name that followed them forever meaning to keep their mothers lives. No one understands why only the mothers had died, but the first king had sworn that another life will never fall to the gods lies again, and such he started a crusade against the gods and the keepers.

I sighed as the dripping sink faucet pulled me out of my concentration taking my attention away from the kids that couldn't be no older than 8, reading their history books. The old lady said she had gotten it fixed, sighing I looked at the relic from when she was a kid herself if she ever was, I swear she just proofed into life. Fiddling with the knobs on the faucet an overjoy and tired voice hit my ears.

"Didn't she just get that fix Maxie?" Letting the E hang in the air just a little longer than most would of. I turned around to see a pink and green hair mess smiling her all to big grin when she was trying to hide something either great or horrible. "kiwi i didn't think you would be here till later after all you had schooling." I titled my head as her blue eyes sparkled with joy. "I did but somebody decided to let a siren and a pixie out at school so they were running around trying to capture them, and they don't want those who are under the rank of reaper being there. But hey who wants to be in school today when I could be at my favorite cafe." Her haft hearted care for the safety of the school she went to disappeared as soon as it appeared. Shaking my head I looked at her with a small smile" well miss kiwi if i didn't know i would suspect you doing such a thing." She puffed her cheeks pretending to be offended "as if I would ever do such a thing to such a great school" she leaned in whispering " anyways I heard theirs a new vigilante called akua." as soon as she had said those words my heart dropped, before I could get a work out a large crash made me jump out of my skin.

The crashing noise sounded like it came from the streets, following the noise screaming had become noticeable. Before I could think my body moved "get in the back" I yelled to the children before kiwi had ran off the children had darted into the storage room, running to my room I grabbed the necklace off the stand- as if the necklace had life of its own it moved and swirled around me. Gods fabric; a being that most wouldn't believe was alive as it only listened to those with gods blood. Standing in the window I looked to see where the monster was at, close to down town but not far enough it could get away easily. Jumping up from my vantage point I crossed the rooftops; praying people truly kept up on repairs on roofs. Once close enough I planted my feet on the ground as vines wrapped around my feet, focusing on the ground and vibrations; I directed the vines around what looked like an orc trying to hold it to the ground so I could get close enough to swing at him with my scythe; before I could reach him the reapers got to him, the damn reapers once again.
