The entire table froze.
Eryx rubbed his forehead as he felt an incoming headache. Did she really have to put it that way?
"What?" Leo screamed.
Athena nodded calmly. "Then I made friends with my kidnapper."
Leo blinked twice. "...I'm sorry… What?"
Alaric tilted his head to look at her properly "No..." He held up a hand. "Start again."
"I got kidnapped." Athena explained. "I made friends. And then he became my dad."
"..." "..." Everyone look utterly dumbfounded.
Leo slowly looked around the table. "Did anyone else hear that?"
Levi rubbed both hands over his face. "I heard every word."
"I understood none of them." Alaric and Armand admitted at the same time.
Laila pointed accusingly at Athena. "You're making this up."
Athena placed a hand over her heart, looking deeply offended. "I would never."
"You absolutely would."
"I absolutely am." Athena giggled.
Theo laughed under his breath, shaking his head. "There she is."
Even Rhydric's lips twitched despite himself.
