"It was her idea!"
Delfina rolled her eyes and gave her aunt a pointed look.
"I'm not lying, Baccio, you can ask Gemma," her aunt added, ignoring her.
Delfina was currently sitting on the porch swing when the argument had begun inside and they had carried it outside to her.
She was in a foul mood and that was equally the reason for her uncle's mood. She glanced at her cousin, Gemma Fontana who chewed her bubble gum and nodded her head to support her mother.
She pulled her black fake curls off her fake lashes and batted her eyes at her father trying to pout and act all innocent.
In her opinion, Gemma looked ridiculous and so did her mother, Lucia.
But of course, nobody asked for her opinion. She settled on staring at her cell phone and trying to digest the news that she had just gotten.
"You're telling me that she decided to ruin her future?" her uncle, Baccio Fontana, was asking her aunt. He sounded really pissed.
She saw her aunt making hand gestures before approaching her.
"Fina, honey tell your uncle that you decided to be a surrogate to help him and his finances." Delfina finally looked up from her cell phone and sighed. She didn't want her aunt patronizing her but it was her choice even though she had secretly wished it wouldn't work out.
"Fina, you don't have to lie about anything. I know it was your aunt's idea," her uncle insisted.
Delfina smiled. "I love you, uncle, that's why I choose to do it. I couldn't bear to see you suffer and wallow in debt."
Her uncle sighed and then sat down beside her on the porch swing.
"You didn't have to do anything. Even my daughter didn't do what you did."
Gemma faked a pout which was still ridiculous. "Dad, I tried but they couldn't find a match." Delfina rolled her eyes. "It was the only way I could thank you for taking care of me ever since my parents died."
Delfina was shocked when she saw her uncle wiping away stray tears.
"I'm sorry, darling I know it must have been awful, and now the worst is yet to come."
Delfina nodded. It's been two weeks but she still felt dirty and embarrassed whenever she replayed what had happened in the suite.
She felt like a slut and considering she was paid or rather her aunt was paid then she was a surrogate slut.
Sex with that man had been the worst, she couldn't imagine any other worse fate she would go through now.
"I did what I could, uncle. Consider this a gift from me to you," she replied with a small smile.
"So, what's next now that you've been confirmed pregnant?" her uncle asked.
Before she could give her uncle an answer to which she had none, three SUVs drove into the compound and Delfina recognized Ramos when he came out of the vehicle.
"Mr. Fontana, I've been sent by Young Master to bring his surrogate to a secluded place where she will stay until after delivery then she can return home," Ramos stated.
Her uncle frowned. "How do I know she's been taken care of properly?" "It's not in my place to give you an answer but everything was in the document your wife signed. Here's the remainder of the money."
Delfina's eyes widened when her uncle and aunt were handed three suitcases all filled with bunches of hundred dollar notes.
Her uncle was still gawking at suitcases filled with money he had no idea when they took her away.
Just like last time they covered her eyes with a piece of cloth.
"How will I go for my daily checkups?" Delfina finally asked a question.
"You'll be getting a regular visit from your gynecologist until delivery," Ramos replied. She didn't want to ask another question because it seemed this Young Master had thought of everything and planned everything.
She dozed twice by the time they got to the villa. It was the same one she had been to two weeks ago except she didn't enter the main house. She was taken to the smaller mansion behind the big one.
"This will be your quarters until your delivery," Ramos said.
Delfina nodded. It was a beautiful mansion and even though it was small compared to the other one it still felt huge to her.
"Your maids and butler, everything you need is inside there," he informed her.
She nodded again as she took another step and entered the mansion preparing for her new life. This will be her life for at least ten months.
It wouldn't be so bad as long as she didn't encounter that cold-hearted monster.
"Thank you, Ramos," she smiled.

Ten Months Later
"Push!"
Delfina's eyes were red-rimmed as she glared at the doctor who was in between her legs. This was the second time he was in between her legs.
"What does it look like I'm doing?!" she snapped at the man. He sighed and placed a hand on her shoulders.
"You can do this, okay. You're stronger than you know."
His words made her cry. She knew he had just said it so that she would feel better but she felt bad.
Here she was giving birth and none of her family members were present. She knew according to the contract they weren't supposed to be present but it still hurt.
With a new wave of contraction and pain, she screamed. The cry of a newborn baby was heard and she smiled happily.
The Doctor and the nurses hurried to clean the child and dress him up when she goes into labor again.
The wave of contractions keeps hitting her and she keeps pushing but the second baby wouldn't come out. Finally, the second baby came out but due to prolonged labor, the child suffocated and wasn't breathing.
Delfina felt her heartache at the news. She knew she wouldn't go back with any of the children but she hadn't wanted them to die.
The doctor informed the cold-hearted man that one of his sons had suffocated during childbirth.
"I'm sorry Young Master, I tried to save the second twin but he suffocated inside the womb from prolonged labor," the doctor apologized profusely.
"One is alive. That's enough," the man replied. The doctor gasped in shock at the cruelty of his answer.
"Now hand the baby over to the lady maid," he ordered.
The nurse who had accompanied the young master to the hospital gave the doctor an apologetic look and took the baby from him.
Immediately they left the room the dead baby cried loudly and the doctor jumped in shock. Delfina cried in excitement as the doctor checked him and confirmed he was healthy.
"I have to tell the young master that the second twin is alive," the doctor said, making a run for the door.
Delfina stopped him. "Don't tell him. He's going to think you're incompetent and probably sue you and your hospital."
The doctor thought for a while and then agreed. "You're right. He's a really cold man so instead of seeing this as a miracle he'll think I failed in my job."
Delfina nodded. "I'll take care of this one after all he didn't want him else he would have asked for his body even after you told him he had died." The doctor nodded. "I'll give you the birth certificate for this twin. You can take him home and take care of him."
Delfina stared at the beautiful chubby baby in her arms and cried. He was evidence that her ten months of pregnancy and labor hadn't been in vain.
Staring at the innocent child she vowed to take good care of him.
