Chapter 7 - No pantry only weapons

Annan, quite pleased with herself for irking Qian Ying to the point of stomping her feet in fury, left the residential area heading straight for the hardware market.

In the last few days, she had stocked up on quite a number of necessities, but there was truth to the saying "When my neighbors hoard food, I hoard weapons; my neighbors are my pantry."

Annan had no intention of becoming anyone's pantry, and so, she planned to stockpile weapons.

Of course, real firearms were out of her reach; Huaguo was strictly regulated when it came to that.

Fortunately, it was the same for everyone else.

In her past life, the most used weapons during disputes were household items like kitchen knives, axes, baseball bats and such.

They either lacked killing power, or were too easy to accidentally harm oneself with.

Annan had plans to procure something more suitable for herself.

A chainsaw. Also known as a miscreant tranquilizer.

Once a chainsaw was started, nobody within a ten meter radius would dare approach.

A netizen once joked saying, "it's the most powerful weapon you can legally purchase."

Forget about its efficiency in sawing through bones, just the thunderous roar of its running alone could scare the opponent into jelly legs.

But it had one major flaw: it needed gasoline to run, and so Annan needed to stock up on gasoline as well.

The order collapsed after the end times, diesel and gasoline became precious non-renewable resources.

Therefore, Annan not only bought five chainsaws but also prepared five rechargeable electric saws.

After all, there's electricity in space, they can be thrown in for charging at any time.

After buying chainsaws and electric saws, Annan bought ten nail guns and matched nails.

Although the nail gun is not as good as a real gun, it is still very powerful. Aiming at the vital parts like the head and heart, it can bring down opponents in a few shots.

The owner of the nail gun shop even repeatedly emphasized the precautions during usage, fearing that she would accidentally hurt someone.

Coming out of the shop, Annan returned to the car and put everything into her space.

Sitting in the car, she thought for a while and then made a call to a business partner from when her mother was alive.

"Aunt Chen, hello, it's Annan."

"Annan? What's up?"

The news of Annan being kicked out of the house by An Xingye was well-known in their circle.

Although they sighed, after all, An Xingye is now in charge of their group, so as a partner, Mrs. Chen couldn't be too friendly with

Annan.

Knowing that people are cold after the death, Annan did not make polite conversation and went straight to the point.

"My mother had a collection piece that she lent to you for admiration. I want to take it back."

"Oh, you mean that tri-edged bayonet?"

Mrs. Chen was taken aback. Was the girl in such a tough situation that she had to sell her collections to get by?

This bayonet was not old and not worth much money. It was borrowed purely out of curiosity at that time and couldn't be

compared with those antiques collected by her mother.

But presumably, An Xingye didn't even give those things to her.

The child is quite pitiful when you think about it.

So she agreed readily, "You can come and get it tomorrow."

"Okay, thank you, Auntie."

After hanging up the phone, A Nan felt even more secure in her heart. A triangular bayonet, with three bladelike grooves, will cause a rapid and massive bleeding when it hits the target.

The unique injury it causes is difficult to patch up. In an apocalyptic world lacking medical resources, getting struck by it can be considered beyond any hope of recovery.

Her mother's knife is old and was already rusted when she received it.

But that's exactly what An Nan wants.

A rusty knife, indeed a perfect weapon for causing lockjaw, full damage points.

Having solved the weapon problem, An Nan strolled around the hardware market, buying various tools like wrenches, hydraulic pliers, oil barrels, hammers, screwdrivers, and window breakers.

She also bought three diesel generators, three gasoline generators, as well as some solar panels.

Finally, looking at the messy space, she bought a lot of shelves to help categorize and organize the materials in the space.

Is there anything else she needs to buy?

Right! An Nan slapped her forehead, why did she forget about the lifesaver!

She quickly pulled up the GPS, found a pharmacy, and prepared to stock up on some medicines.

On the way, she saw a water quality testing company.

Thinking of the water in her space, she was still unsure of how good its quality was.

In this life, her conditions were good, so naturally, she'd be a bit more picky. If the water quality was mediocre, then stocking up on some drinking water was in order.

She promptly took some samples from her space and spent a thousand yuan to conduct a water quality test, with the results expected to arrive tomorrow after being expedited.

Upon leaving the testing company, she drove for ten minutes before arriving at the pharmacy.

"Hello, I have some elderly people at home who have trouble moving about. I'd like to prepare some common medications for them."

The staff member, who was playing with his phone, perked up at her words, quickly stood up, and enthusiastically began introducing her to the variety of items.

Anti-inflammatory medicines, common cold remedies, fever reducers, pain and diarrhoea relievers, various antibiotics, ointments, medical gauze, band-aids, and so on.

Annan bought a bit of everything, then carefully asked the staff member about the precautions for various drugs before leaving.

Buying too many drugs in one interval would have raised suspicions.

So she visited several more pharmacies, purchasing different medicines from her list at each one, running from store to store.

She was busy until five in the afternoon when she received a call from the construction workers stating that the renovations had been completed.

Returning home, Annan inspected the installation of the doors and windows, and after finding everything satisfactory, she went ahead and paid off the remaining balance.

After sending away the workers, Annan heaved a sigh of relief.

Switching on the air conditioner, she took out a serving of hot and spicy soup and milk tea from her space.

The hot and spicy soup was still steaming, and An Nan savored it while looking around.
