Chapter 22 - 22

Tony's mind echoed with Leo's golden eyes and all the words he had said.

"But there's really nothing strange about this," Pepper said.

"No, this is the weirdest place." Tony randomly clicked on a picture of a model.

Jarvis automatically copied a three-dimensional model of the same proportion as the picture and appeared in front of the two of them.

"Pepper, look at this model. The details are so well-made that it can be considered a very high-quality model. For five hundred yuan, it's definitely worth it. But, it was made by a ten-year-old!"

Tony looked at the delicate little man in front of him, his face full of caution. "It's incredible, some of the details are really well handled!"

When you open your palm, the projection automatically expands according to the changes in your palm.

"Eyes, hair tips, besides coloring, it's amazing that they can be cut so carefully. Pepper, this is metal, even though it's a very low hardness metal, but it's not easy to make it look like this."

Tony exclaimed, "And with his speed, it can basically be completed in four days to a week. It's absolutely incredible!"

"This seems really strange, but does it prove anything?" Pepper also realized this.

"Leo is special, very special. I want to meet him, Pepper. Do you have his contact information?"

"Of course, I'll send it to you later!"

"Well, good, okay!" Tony raised his eyebrows and looked around.

Pepper held the old reactor in her hands, "Don't you want to keep this?"

"Pepper, I have many qualities, but nostalgia isn't one of them!"

Pepper glanced at the glowing reactor still in her hand. "Anything else, Mr. Stark?"

"No, Miss Potts!"

It feels like we've returned to our usual atmosphere.

Pepper took the reactor and left, looking at it from time to time, wondering what she was thinking.

Tony looked at Pepper's back as she left and fell silent.

...

Two weeks later.

Leo successfully passed the entrance exam for primary school to middle school, and now it's summer vacation!!

"Peter!" He hugged Peter who rushed towards him, "Let's go home!"

Peter, who was in the second grade, also embarked on the steps of the third grade, holding Leo's hand and going to Leo's house together.

Today, Aunt Jenny made a barbecue at home to celebrate Leo's exams and invited Aunt May to celebrate together.

The relationship between the two families has been getting better and better over the past year or so. Peter often comes over for dinner when he is alone at home.

Aunt May also felt relieved to leave Peter to Leo and Aunt Jenny and went back to work wholeheartedly.

"Peter, what are you planning to do during the summer vacation? Or are you going to go to Los Angeles with me?" Leo said, looking at the fair-skinned Peter.

"Leo, I want to go to the amusement park!" Peter said with a laugh, looking like a child.

Leo slapped his head and said, "That's right, he's just a child!"

"Peter, let's go see the Transformers!"

"Yeah, let's watch cartoons, the Autobots are transforming!" Peter went to watch TV excitedly.

Leo smiled and shook his head. He wondered what was going on with Tony. Had the production of Mark I started?

...

Los Angeles, a secret military base.

At the combat flight training base, Rhodes was showing a group of new pilots around fighter jets while explaining.

"Will future air combat be conducted using drones or manned aircraft? In my experience, no drone can possess the intuition and insight of a human pilot, allowing him to predict situations amidst chaos."

Colonel Rhodes looked at the new recruits behind him.

"That's called pilot's judgment!"

"Colonel, then why don't we use planes? Can't the pilots go directly into battle?" A voice came from the side.

Rhodes looked over and smiled, introducing the new recruits, "Look who's here! The aerialist, Mr. Tony Stark!"

"Speaking of whether he's giving people a ride, you can ask him about that time he miscalculated. It was during spring break. Remember, it was spring break in 1987," Tony said seriously, looking at Rhodes. "That beautiful girl you slept with."

"Stop it!" Rhodes said with a smile.

"What's that man's name?"

"Stop it, they'll take it seriously. Don't be like this." Rhodes couldn't laugh.

"Okay, nice to meet you!" Tony looked at them.

Rhodes also said, "Everyone, we want to talk alone, you can look around first!"

Everyone else left.

Rhodes looked at Tony happily, "I'm surprised!"

"What's surprising?"

"I didn't expect you to be out and about so soon."

Tony nodded and looked at Rhodes, "I can't just hang out."

"Really?" Rhodes heard that Tony had something to talk to him about.

"Rod, I'm going to do a big project, and I'm here to discuss it with you. I hope you'll join me."

Rhode looked at Tony, who was smiling all the time, and said, "Then you have to coax everyone well, because what you said at the press conference is really worth writing about!"

Tony was a little embarrassed when he heard this, "This isn't for the military. I'm not going to... This time is different!"

Rhodes frowned. "What? Are you a humanitarian now?"

"I want you to listen to me."

Tony looked at Rhodes expectantly, hoping that he would listen carefully to what he had to say.

But Rhodes refused outright and looked at Tony Stark seriously.

"No need, all you need is to calm down!"

"I'm serious!" Rhodes emphasized, looking at Tony's smiling face.

The smile on Tony's face slowly faded, with disappointment and a little bit of misunderstanding, but he still nodded.

"OK"

"Nice to see you, Tony." Rhodes looked at Tony, stepped back step by step, and finally turned and left.

Tony's eyes, which had been bright before, dimmed and he was staring at something in a trance.

Back in the basement of the room, Tony also strengthened his determination.

Sitting at the computer desk, he turned on his computer using the keyboard he designed.

"Are you still there, Jarvis?"

"At your service, sir!"

Tony looked at the armor data models on the three screens in front of him and rubbed his hands.

"Create a new project folder and name it Mark II"

"Will this be stored in Stark Industries' central database?"

Tony used a laser pointer to move the armor model on the computer to the operating table next to him, instantly forming a half-human-high armor model and dispersing it into individual parts.

"To be honest, I don't know who to trust now." He stood up and walked to the operating table.

"Save it on my private server first, unless I ask you to change it."

"So this is a secret project, right, sir?" Jarvis replied.

Tony looked at the Mark I data model in front of him, opened the mask of his armor, took out a bunch of simulation data models, and threw them into the data trash can.

"I don't want these to fall into the wrong hands."

The clumsy Mark I began to be gradually streamlined, and the cumbersome parts were thrown into the trash can one by one, and there was actually a simulated collision sound.

"Maybe, you can do some good things in my hands!"

After the simplification was completed, with a light stroke, a simple armor model began to rotate, and the prototype of Mark II appeared.
