Chapter 16 - Free read pass

Like Raze had predicted, by the next day, the entire building was completed. Every bath, every bucket, they had gotten everything that was needed.

Raze stood there along with all the men who had worked eagerly for the completion. In three days they had done it, and it was a sight to see.

"We have a little more to do first. But all those can wait for now, it would take about a drafting to make," he muttered. There needed to be a more automatic way for water to flow, but that couldn't be the case.

They created a pseudo-draining path for dirty water, and also a small pipeway with the help of the blacksmith to enable water flow. There was no water pressure, but that would be something for the future.

Raze walked into the building. He was shocked at how they were able to handle all the tiny nitty-gritty details in only an extra day.

"I guess this town is talented, they didn't just know where to channel it," he said, and then walked out to the back where there was a massive tank.

He looked at it, took a deep breath, and stretched out his hands. A ball of water formed above the top, and the water began pouring into the tank.

Everyone was surprised; they had believed they would have to get water from the stream or the well, but they didn't need to worry about any of that. He handled it.

In only minutes, the massive water tank was filled. He turned around and faced them. "And that's the last part. Congratulations, your bathhouse has been completed."

The entire place erupted with an ear-splitting roar. Cheers of celebration filled everywhere. Raze waited for them to calm down and then he spoke.

"There will be a timetable for the use of the bathhouse, crafted into male and female, and of different age groups.

It is important that we give every section of age and every gender the privacy that they need," he said, and then looked around.

"Lastly, before you all leave for the day, this place needs to be maintained, water, coal, everything to ensure that it keeps working. And that requires money.

So everyone is expected to pay a copper coin per month. Spread the word. The money will be used to pay all those who will be working here, as well as take care of the place.

And in the occasion where you can't manage to pay a copper coin in a month, a provision to help you will be handled at a later date. But for now, you can all go home, I believe you have a feast tonight," he said.

The cheers didn't die down one bit, even as they went home. After everyone was gone, Raze stood there with Elaine.

"Master, this town has only about five hundred people, and that would mean five hundred copper coins a month. Will that be enough to ensure this place stays afloat?" she asked.

"Hell no, it doesn't even come close to being enough," he said.

"Then why not make it higher?" she asked.

"Because they deserve to enjoy what they worked for. For three days now, they gave their time, resources, and more for this building. It would be evil to make them sweat for what is theirs.

That being said, I don't plan to walk into a loss. We are going to develop this town and create my special place, remember? This bathhouse is just the initial incentive, the start to what is to come.

As of now, everyone in the town who has seen this will be eager for when the next plan comes to be," he said, and then walked to the bathhouse.

"Elaine, you and I have had a rough few days, and we haven't relaxed in that time. How about we be the ones to test out the bathhouse," he said.

"Young master, I ca—"

"Just come already," he said.

She didn't hesitate after that and went in.

"Young master, you said you would separate it by gender for different days, but it seems the design you had in mind was already targeting a separation," she stated, pointing at the massive wall that went through the middle.

"Hmm, I had forgotten about that. We can worry about it later," he said and waved at her before entering one section, and she went to the other.

He got undressed, opened the tap to one of the baths, and filled it. The place used a central heating method; there was a coal house and it was already ignited. It sent the heat through a series of wires and valves into the water in a safe way.

While they had been building yesterday, he spent all night with the blacksmiths, ensuring that it worked. He could have wasted a bit more time to handle some of the details even more, but he was out of money and couldn't afford to feed the workers, and he didn't want that.

But despite their rush, everything had worked out well in the end. He entered the bathroom slowly, and the warm water washed over his skin. Immediately he felt more relaxed.

"Ahhhhhhh, now this is the life," he muttered.

His eyes widened when he saw the messages, his mind already racing with thoughts of the possible things he could read. He swallowed hard.

"If this is what I get for doing something like this, then I'm definitely doing more," he said with a wide grin on his face. Anything that could aid him in getting more knowledge was a good thing.
