Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Blood Boiling

Simon Forrester might have said something afterward, or perhaps he said nothing at all; Sienna Thornton was completely unaware, having lost consciousness for about five minutes.

At this moment, her fingertips touched a soft, warm object, and her nostrils were filled with the fresh scent of natural leather.

The sensation was slightly strange.

After a brief mental short-circuit, Sienna Thornton slowly regained consciousness.

Realizing she was lying in an unfamiliar place, she abruptly sat up, her pair of beautiful phoenix eyes swirling around vigilantly, scanning her surroundings.

The first things to enter her line of sight were a huge floor-to-ceiling window and a black leather chaise lounge, on which sat a thick foreign book.

Sienna squinted her eyes, trying hard for a while, and finally, under the dim faint light, she made out a line of English words on the book's spine: A World History of Architecture... A History of World Architecture?

This is Simon Forrester's place?!

After spending a few seconds piecing together fragments in her mind, Sienna finally remembered that she had been helped inside by Simon after fainting at the sight of blood.

"The bleeding has stopped," the man said as he walked over from the bar, his voice returning to its cold, icy tone, "Do you need me to call an ambulance?"

"Hmm?" Sienna regained her senses and turned to look at him, instinctively glancing at her right foot.

Her foot was neatly wrapped in a few layers of bandages. Seeing the slightly seeping red of the bandage, she was caught off guard as her heartbeat began to speed up again.

A cup of steaming white liquid appeared just in front of her at the right moment.

"Drink some hot milk." Simon handed her the milk.

"Thank you." Sienna accepted the milk, holding it in her hand without drinking it.

"Director Forrester, may I use your bathroom?" Compared to rejuvenating herself with hot milk, she preferred to splash her face with cold water to feel more awake.

Simon pointed to the hallway next to the TV wall, "First door on the left."

Sienna thanked him again, picked up her high heels, and, barefoot, walked unsteadily over there.

After closing the door, she took a long breath in front of the mirror and splashed her face with cold water before taking the opportunity to observe the environment.

Because it was a guest bathroom, likely not frequently used, its cleanliness highlighted its ingenious design even more.

The overall tone was beige, and next to the sink stood a European-style flower stand, with an emerald green vintage ceramic vase holding fresh white roses, warm and elegant.

Sienna felt she had indeed found the right person.

Simon Forrester's aesthetic taste perfectly matched her own.

"Hah, acting so aloof, yet the home is decorated so warmly," Sienna murmured to the mirror as she tousled her long hair with a smile, "Or maybe, you're just cold on the outside and warm on the inside?"

Thinking about this, she felt a vague excitement within her.

She looked at herself in the mirror, her exquisite lips curling gradually into a determined smile.

Solving a problem that others couldn't solve, achieving a goal that seemed unattainable, such things were truly exhilarating.

She was determined to make Simon Forrester the creative designer for her B&B, no matter what method she had to use...

Seeing that it was almost time to go down and meet Maeve, Sienna suppressed her smile, ready to put on her shoes and leave.

Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and wedged her right foot into the shoes. The process was slightly difficult, but at least her foot went in.

But after taking just a few steps forward, a sharp pain shot through her right foot.

Without warning, the little bloodstain on the bandage started to spread, dyeing the entire bandage red.

Sienna immediately broke out in a cold sweat all over her body, once again experiencing symptoms of breathlessness, palpitations, and weakness in her limbs.

She knew she was fainting at the sight of blood again!

Before losing consciousness, she had only one thought: she must leave this place quickly!
