Simon Forrester didn't answer Sienna Thornton's question, just silently looking at her, his expression remaining calm.
His composure, on the contrary, stirred a hint of amusement in Sienna Thornton.
Habitually tucking her black hair behind her ear, Sienna Thornton continued to act weak: "Director Forrester forgot the most important thing—I am currently unable to move easily, I need care in every aspect of my life..."
At this point, she purposely paused, then turned her gaze back to Simon Forrester, only to see that his ever-unchanging indifferent face had finally furrowed a bit.
When he looked at her again, a hint of impatience in his eyes, "Hire a nurse."
"Alright, then thank you, Director Forrester." Sienna Thornton hid the sarcasm in her eyes and winked at Maeve, who was standing by the bedside.
"Then Lawyer Thornton, take good care of yourself," Simon Forrester stood up, "I'll send someone to visit you."
The implication was that he would not visit Sienna Thornton in the hospital again.
Sienna Thornton smiled knowingly without saying anything more.
Requests should be made bit by bit, like ants eroding a dam; asking too much all at once could stifle the person.
Just as she was about to have Maeve see Simon Forrester out, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open, and a nurse shouted inside, "Family member of the patient, come and sign!"
Seeing Simon Forrester not moving, the nurse waved at him, "What are you standing there for? I'm talking to you! Aren't you the patient's husband?"
"..." Simon Forrester's face darkened as he left the ward under the nurse's persistent prodding.
Sienna Thornton stared at Maeve in disbelief, then pointed towards the direction Simon Forrester left, "Him? My husband?"
Maeve glanced at her sideways, "After you fell, it was that man who called the ambulance, and he also did the injury registration with the nurse."
"There's no need to say he's my husband," Sienna Thornton protested discontentedly, "What if my partner finds out in the future?"
Maeve smirked slightly, flicking her forehead gently, "Who told you to fall in someone else's bathroom, maybe the doctor and nurse mistakenly thought you two were a married couple..."
Sienna Thornton: "..."
The next day.
After the doctor made rounds and confirmed that Sienna Thornton's condition was stable, Maeve, who had taken care of her overnight, took some time to go back and get fresh clothes for the two of them.
Just as she left, Harrison Rowe, Simon Forrester's assistant, arrived with a nurse-like lady. Besides inquiring about Sienna Thornton's condition, he introduced her and the nurse lady to each other.
Sienna Thornton agreed to let the lady stay.
At nine o'clock, she called Thomas Reed to ask for leave.
Because the reason for her injury was somewhat awkward, she only said there was an issue back home that she needed to attend to for a while.
Fortunately, all the cases she was working on were concluded, and there were no ongoing cases. Taking long leave was not a problem. However, with injuries taking a hundred days to heal, for the next two to three months of recovery, with no income at all, Sienna Thornton felt a bit concerned.
"You're really dying before even starting the journey!" Maeve weakly tossed the calculator aside, "Originally, the renovation of your bed and breakfast was delayed indefinitely because you couldn't afford a designer, and now you..."
Sienna Thornton snorted coldly, "I have my way."
"What way?"
Sienna Thornton didn't answer, finding an excuse to send the nurse lady away.
Once the ward door was closed, she lowered her voice and said, "I will find reasons to have that man come to my house every day, annoy him until he's willing to join us!"
"..." Maeve frowned, utterly speechless, "Really? Just the two of you alone, what if you end up hitting on him?"
