Chapter 68 - CHAPTER 68

c68: Transformation into Super Saiyan 4

Looking at Beerus's contemptuous gesture, Lin Hao wasn't irritated in the slightest. Although Beerus's lazy flick of the wrist carried an obvious sense of provocation, Lin Hao only smirked. He knew how the God of Destruction operated testing his opponents' resolve before unleashing even a fraction of his own divine power.

Lin Hao's eyes grew sharp. "If that's the case," he said calmly, taking a fighter's stance that resembled Goku's from the Battle of Gods, "then I won't hold back either!"

The moment his voice fell, the atmosphere around them changed drastically. The gentle clouds above West City halted mid-drift, and even the wind stilled. The space between Lin Hao and Beerus seemed to tremble with invisible power, the very air rippling under the tension of two terrifying forces about to clash.

"Obi!"

With an ear-splitting sound of air being torn apart, Lin Hao vanished from his spot, leaving behind only a shockwave. In an instant, he appeared before Beerus, his right fist already arcing forward, covered in blazing golden light.

Seeing this, Beerus's sharp pupils dilated slightly. A faint grin curved his lips the kind he wore when Goku first struck him during their fight in Dragon Ball Super. "Interesting…" he muttered, raising his own right hand to meet the blow head-on.

"Boom!"

The impact shattered the stillness of the sky. A violent wave of energy burst outward like an explosion, parting the clouds for miles. Beerus's body was hurled backward, smashing through several layers of condensed ki pressure before he finally stabilized himself several hundred meters away. His golden eyes flickered with genuine surprise and excitement.

It had been centuries since anyone had forced him to block with actual effort.

Recovering in mid-air, Beerus's purple aura flared violently, crackling with divine lightning. His tail twitched in thrill. "Your strength is impressive," he admitted, smirking. "You're the first mortal who's managed to push me back with a single punch."

Lin Hao hovered calmly in the air, his own aura flickering like a living flame. "Oh? Is that a compliment from the God of Destruction?" He flexed his right hand, the muscles of his arm glowing faintly under the golden light. "Fine then. Warm-up's over. Now, let's get serious!"

A thunderous roar erupted from Lin Hao's throat, echoing across the battlefield. His ki surged wildly, shaking the heavens. The ground below cracked open, and the remaining clouds scattered under the immense pressure.

"Fffrrrhh!!"

A brilliant golden aura erupted around him, twisting violently like the flames of the sun. In the next instant, Lin Hao's hair turned completely gold, his eyes a sharp turquoise his body radiating the unmistakable energy of a Super Saiyan at full power. The very sky quaked beneath the density of his ki, increasing dozens of times over.

Beerus's pupils contracted slightly. "So… this is your Super Saiyan form? Hmph. It's not bad," he muttered, his tone tinged with intrigue. "It's been ages since I've seen energy this pure."

Lin Hao smirked. "Oh, that's just the beginning. Watch closely this is where the real transformation begins!"

Once again, his body convulsed as another roar tore free. Golden lightning bolts began dancing across his aura, splitting the air with their crackling sound. His hair grew sharper, spikier; his aura brighter, denser each spark of energy carrying the weight of Super Saiyan 2's overwhelming power.

Beerus's grin faded slightly. The destructive god's gaze sharpened. "So, you can climb even higher..."

He folded his arms, watching intently now. The ki storm surrounding Lin Hao didn't stop rising. The vibration in the air was the same he had felt when Goku reached Super Saiyan 3 against him long ago except Lin Hao's presence felt even more stable, more refined, like a Saiyan who had transcended the mortal limit.

Beerus finally exhaled, his earlier amusement shifting into anticipation. "Interesting indeed... Lin Hao, your energy, it's exactly as I suspected."

Looking at Lin Hao, whose body radiated dazzling golden ki that surged like a living flame, Beerus's sharp pupils widened slightly. A sudden thought crossed his mind, and his expression froze in realization. "You… you can still transform, can't you?" he asked, his tone half disbelief, half anticipation.

Lin Hao's lips curved into a confident smile. The golden aura surrounding him intensified, sending waves of energy across the sky. "Congratulations on guessing right," he said evenly, his voice echoing with raw power. "I can indeed transform. What you've seen so far is far from my limit. The next stage Super Saiyan!"

He slowly released the immense power hidden within his body. A deafening roar followed as the golden aura exploded outward. His hair lengthened drastically, eyebrows vanished, and his facial expression turned feral Lin Hao had achieved the legendary transformation of Super Saiyan 3.

Because Lin Hao's base power had already surpassed most mortals, he could switch between the first three Super Saiyan forms seamlessly, his control over ki flawless. The massive physical drain that normally crippled others meant nothing to him—his energy felt bottomless, comparable to Goku's godlike stamina during the Tournament of Power.

After entering the Super Saiyan 3 state, Lin Hao cracked his neck and clenched his fists, the sound of muscles tightening echoing like thunder. The overwhelming aura rolling off him caused distant oceans to churn.

Beerus's feline eyes narrowed as he felt the spike in energy. "Is this your strongest power? Impressive… but still not enough to defeat me." His calm tone masked his growing surprise he could sense Lin Hao's ki climbing to levels unseen since Goku's clash with him years ago.

Lin Hao merely shook his head. "No," he said quietly, his turquoise eyes blazing. "What you feel now… is only one percent of my full power."

"One… percent?" Beerus's composure faltered. The normally unshakable God of Destruction looked genuinely dumbfounded, his tail twitching in disbelief.

Then Lin Hao roared again. The sky itself responded, trembling violently as his aura shifted. The once-golden light darkened to crimson, merging with primal energy that felt both ancient and divine. His hair shortened, turning deep black with a red tint, and crimson fur spread across his body. His eyes glowed golden with sharp black outlines he had finally transcended into Super Saiyan 4.

Beerus instinctively took a step back, the ground beneath him cracking under the pressure of Lin Hao's energy. "Wh-what in the world…?" he muttered, staring at Lin Hao's new form his power now rivaled the destructive energy of the gods themselves.

The transformation had stripped away all human softness. Lin Hao looked at Beerus with cold detachment. "All right, Beerus," he said, his tone eerily calm, "let's continue."

For a moment, Beerus could only gape. The transition from golden-haired Saiyan to this primal, fur-covered warrior stunned him. What unsettled him most was Lin Hao's ki—it was dense, ancient, and godlike, faintly intertwining with the same kind of divine energy Beerus himself commanded.

"When did such a being appear in Universe 7?" Beerus thought to himself, his tail twitching anxiously. "This mortal's power… it's bordering on my own. Impossible."

Yet despite his astonishment, Beerus's pride as a God of Destruction refused to falter. He sneered faintly. "Impressive form," he said. "But divine power isn't something a mortal can imitate. You may have godlike ki, but you still lack divinity itself."

Had Lin Hao heard his thoughts, he would have laughed. True, mortals couldn't normally touch godly ki but Lin Hao was far from ordinary. He was a hybrid of both divine and mortal essence, the product of cosmic evolution and Saiyan bloodline perfection.

He spread his arms wide, crimson aura blazing like wildfire. "Come, Beerus!"

"Hmph!" Beerus snorted, his pupils narrowing to slits. "Your aura might shake the stars, but let's see if your body can keep up with my speed!"

In the blink of an eye, Beerus vanished, turning into a streak of purple lightning. The air cracked as he shot toward Lin Hao, his destructive energy compressing into his right palm.

Lin Hao didn't flinch. He drew his aura inward, condensing it until his body shimmered faintly red, then launched forward head-on. Their collision sent shockwaves rippling through the atmosphere, shaking the oceans below and splitting the clouds apart.

The pressure from their battle was so immense that those aboard Bulma's yacht nearby screamed and ducked for cover.

"ABU!"

At that moment, a blue aura flashed across the sky Vegeta had arrived from West City. His expression hardened as he felt the violent energy waves. "What the hell is going on here?!" he shouted. "That guy Lin Hao… his power level, it's unreal!"

He landed beside Goku, who was watching the battle with awe.

"Lin Hao's fighting Lord Beerus," Goku said solemnly, his eyes glued to the sky.

"Beerus?" Vegeta repeated, the name sending a chill through his spine. The word stirred old memories ones he had buried since childhood. "Wait… Beerus, the God of Destruction?"

As Goku explained everything that had happened the prophecy, Beerus's arrival, and Lin Hao's challenge Vegeta's face went pale.

"Wh-what?!" Vegeta stammered. "The God of Destruction Beerus?! The one who can erase planets with a flick of his finger?"

He clenched his fists, recalling the stories told to him as a boy on Planet Vegeta stories that terrified even the proud Saiyan race.

And now, that same god was here, on Earth… fighting Lin Hao.

Vegeta could only stare at the two figures clashing in the heavens, their auras colliding like suns. "Just who are you, Lin Hao…?" he muttered under his breath.
