Chapter 63 - CHAPTER 63

c63: Nervous Supreme Kai

On the other side, in the Realm of the Gods of Destruction, Lord Beerus had just finished his feast. After gulping down the last sip of divine fruit juice, he stretched lazily, his purple tail flicking behind him. His golden eyes gleamed with restlessness. He had been waiting for this day the day to confirm the premonition that had haunted his dreams for decades.

"Whis, are you ready yet? Hurry up! I want to reach the Supreme Kai Realm and find that Super Saiyan God as soon as possible!"

Beerus's feline impatience echoed through the divine palace.

"Now, now, Lord Beerus," Whis replied, his calm smile never fading as he twirled his angelic staff. "Before we depart, I must remind you please try not to destroy anything this time. Our Seventh Universe is already ranked low among the twelve universes. If Lord Zeno hears that you've reduced another planet to dust over something trivial, it could end... disastrously."

At the mention of Zeno, Beerus visibly trembled. The memory of the childlike Omni-King, capable of erasing entire universes with a flick of his hand, sent a chill down his spine. He quickly waved his hand dismissively.

"Alright, alright, I get it! No random destruction this time! Now let's move already, before I fall asleep again!"

Whis chuckled softly, covering his mouth with his hand. "Very well. Please hold on, Lord Beerus. The journey from the Destruction Realm to the World of the Supreme Kai is a long one and I'd rather you didn't drift off midway as you did last time."

Beerus scowled and muttered, "You talk too much, Whis! Just get us there!"

Without another word, Whis tapped his staff three times upon the marble floor. A brilliant prismatic light flared beneath their feet. Divine energy wrapped around them, forming a radiant sphere that shimmered with hues of blue, gold, and white. The moment the light stabilized, the pair vanished from sight, breaking through dimensional layers faster than the speed of light itself.

In an instant, they shot out of the Destruction Realm, leaving trails of divine ki in the void as they streaked toward their destination the Sacred World of the Kai.

Within the translucent sphere, Beerus crossed his arms, his long ears twitching in irritation.

"Hey, Whis, aren't we there yet? Your pace is slower than a turtle from Planet Yardrat! I could've watched an entire season of that 'God Tube' anime by now!"

Whis, amused, tilted his head slightly. "Patience, Lord Beerus. My speed far surpasses that of light. In fact, we'll arrive in precisely ten minutes.assuming, of course, you don't fall asleep while I'm flying."

"Ten minutes?! Ugh! That's practically an eternity!" Beerus groaned, yawning wide enough to reveal his sharp fangs. His golden aura flickered slightly as he tried to stay awake. "If you keep talking, I will fall asleep!"

Whis smiled knowingly. "Remember, Lord Beerus, the last time you dozed off mid-flight, we nearly collided with a comet made of pure Hakai energy. I'd prefer not to repeat that."

"Hmph! Fine, fine! Just go already!" Beerus said, gripping Whis's shoulder tightly, his tail swishing in annoyance.

The angel sighed softly, then increased his divine speed. The cosmic sphere they traveled in shimmered even brighter, leaving behind ripples of energy across the galaxies. Stars and nebulae blurred into streaks of color as they continued to soar through the void.heading straight for the Supreme Kai Realm, where the nervous old Kai was already sensing their approach.

Whis, maintaining his usual serene smile, continued to glide swiftly through the glowing corridors of space-time. The silver light of his staff shimmered as they passed star clusters and meteor belts.

"By the way, Lord Beerus," Whis suddenly spoke, his tone light but teasing, "aren't you the least bit concerned about that prophetic dream you mentioned? The last time your dreams involved Saiyans, Planet Vegeta was erased not long after. Surely, this one must be serious too. Aren't you afraid it might be… embarrassing if it turns out wrong?"

Beerus twitched his ear, clearly annoyed but unwilling to admit his unease.

Whis's words carried a subtle edge of curiosity. In truth, the Angel had been thinking of Lin Hao, the Saiyan-like warrior whose tremendous ki three years ago had rippled even across the Destruction Realm. That surge of power had nearly rivaled divine ki itself, something Whis had not sensed since Son Goku's battle against Frieza on Namek.

From his observations, Lin Hao's potential was far beyond what Beerus could gauge. Perhaps even beyond Beerus himself, Whis thought silently. He hadn't witnessed Lin Hao's full transformation then, but the pressure alone was enough to warp space. It made him wonder if the "Super Saiyan God" from Beerus's dream wasn't Goku or Vegeta but Lin Hao himself.

"What's there to worry about?" Beerus finally replied with a faint growl. "If such a being truly exists, then I'll deal with him when I meet him. I'm not the type to run from a fight."

He said it with confidence, but his tail twitched nervously. Deep down, the memory of that dream the faceless warrior cloaked in red divine flames, who had overwhelmed him effortlessly.still made his fur bristle. Even for a God of Destruction, that kind of power was unsettling.

Whis glanced at Beerus from over his shoulder, his smirk faint but knowing. He could read his master's emotions easily Beerus's bravado never fooled him. Still, he said nothing, only increased his flight speed, divine energy flaring brighter as the multicolored aura around them intensified.

"Whis! What are you doing?!" Beerus yelped as the sudden acceleration nearly threw him off balance. His grip tightened on Whis's shoulder.

"Oh my, forgive me, Lord Beerus," Whis said, chuckling softly. "I did warn you to sit properly. Do hold on, we're almost at the Supreme Kai Realm."

Meanwhile, in the Sacred World of the Kai, the two deities stood atop a crystalline plateau surrounded by eternal spring. The air was filled with divine light—but the mood was tense.

Old Supreme Kai squinted toward the heavens, his wrinkled face drawn in worry. "It's him… Beerus, the God of Destruction. Why has that troublemaker awakened now of all times?"

"Ancestor," said Shin, the younger Supreme Kai beside him, his expression filled with confusion. "Why would Lord Beerus come to Earth just to look for someone? Isn't that strange?"

The elder sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead. "Strange? It's a calamity, you fool! Every time that cat appears, destruction follows! When Beerus sneezes, stars explode. When he gets irritated, civilizations vanish!"

"C-Calamity? But… it's just the Earth! What kind of disaster could he cause just by visiting?" Shin's voice cracked slightly.

The old Kai turned, glaring fiercely. "You really are hopeless! How have you managed to remain Supreme Kai for thousands of years and still not understand the hierarchy of the gods?"

Shin flinched. "I… I read some scrolls!"

"You read nothing!" the elder barked, whacking him lightly on the head with his cane. "Listen carefully, you simpleton. The Supreme Kai governs creation we give birth to life, planets, and species. But for the universe to remain balanced, there must also be destruction. That's where Beerus comes in! The God of Destruction erases what has run its course so that new creation can thrive."

The old Kai sighed again, gazing toward the horizon where a faint divine light was already flickering in the sky. "Beerus and I are bound by fate. When one of us dies, the other perishes too. But the gap between our powers… is immense. If he loses his temper on Earth, that fragile planet won't last a heartbeat."

Shin swallowed nervously. "So the balance of creation and destruction… is really that delicate?"

"Yes! That's why you must learn, boy," the elder scolded. "If you keep lazing around, chatting with mortals, and ignoring divine law, you'll never be a proper Supreme Kai! Beerus may act like a spoiled feline, but he upholds the most terrifying duty in the cosmos."

He turned his eyes skyward again, his expression darkening as a ripple of energy washed over them. "Hmph… he's getting closer. I can feel Whis's staff from here. Prepare yourself, Shin. Disaster is about to arrive."
