Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Thank you, Keli!

"Eh?"

While Kazuma was still in a daze, Keli had already put down the beer bottle, picked up a stone, and turned around.

"What's that kid doing?" The middle-aged man driving the car was stunned to see Keli turn and charge towards them.

"Never mind him! Stop the car quickly, one more living person will save the group a lot of trouble!"

The vehicle screeched to a halt on the riverbank, causing a jolt and an ear-piercing friction sound.

The car doors opened, and several people immediately got out, holding their weapons.

Under the illumination of their teammate's high-beam flashlight, they saw Keli charging towards them with a stone.

"Huh? Realized he couldn't run, so he's going to fight to the death? These kids really don't know their place."

With a disdainful laugh, the driver picked up the baseball bat in his hand and went forward. For these "veterans," such behavior was truly foolish.

Although everyone usually claimed to be people who walked the path of chivalry, at critical moments, one had to be good at judging the situation. In a situation where the opponent clearly outnumbered them, of course, one should run if possible. If running wasn't an option, one shouldn't resist, so as not to anger the other party or injure them, which would lead to more physical suffering when caught.

"Bang!" But before the opponent could get close, the stone in Keli's hand had already flown out. Fortunately, the person targeted for attack reacted quickly and deflected the stone with his bat, otherwise, throwing, as one of the few skills humans excel at over all other animals, could be fatal with a single hit.

"Damn it!" Seeing that this kid was serious, and remembering that several of their brothers had been splashed with hot soup and would likely be in dermatology for several months, these guys were truly enraged.

"Whack!" A very skilled bat strike to the knee, and the kid in front of them half-squatted.

The others immediately prepared to jointly control his limbs.

"Whack!"

The squatting Keli smiled and picked up two more broken stones. His left wrist was hit, and the stone flew out, but his right hand unhesitatingly threw a stone at someone's face.

"Wah ah!" The broken stone hit one person squarely on the forehead, and that person immediately cried out in pain, clutching their head.

However, Keli was also closed in on. His chin was violently struck by a baseball bat. This is a very easy place to cause a concussion and can often result in a one-hit KO in street fights, but the medical expenses for a concussion are much higher than for ordinary injuries.

After swinging the bat and seeing Keli fall in response, the driver, who had been somewhat startled by Keli's resistance, let out a breath. He raised the bat and, as if to vent his anger, delivered another heavy blow to the back of Keli's head, then stepped down, causing Keli's wrist joint to emit a crisp snap.

His skull wasn't that fragile, but the blood from the broken scalp slowly flowed out, soaking Keli's hair.

At this point, they no longer cared about the group needing living people; this kid dared to cause such a ruckus and had to pay for it for their brothers.

The other two went to help the man who was bleeding from his head from Keli's stone, while the driver stepped forward to pull Keli up and see if he was still breathing.

He squatted down, grabbed the kid's arm, and prepared to turn him over.

But when Keli turned over, a face with a sinister grin appeared before him.

"Heh heh! This is what happens when you don't learn from Dio to listen to heartbeats, huh!"

His other hand had already finished charging, two knuckles protruding, aiming directly for the driver's eyes.

Blood splattered. Keli took the baseball bat from the man who was writhing on the ground, howling and clutching his torn eye socket. He moved his wrist, which should have been crushed but was now only dusty and muddy with no blood. He stumbled for a moment, then stood up.

What... what happened?!

The two who had just helped the injured man watched Keli stand up again, holding the baseball bat, illuminated by the flashlight.

"Damn it!" The two immediately dropped their companion. One pulled out a taser from his waist, while the other charged forward with a steel pipe.

"Bang!" The steel pipe and baseball bat clashed, and another person was elbowed in the forehead by Keli. He hunched over and rushed into Keli's arms, the taser in his hand flashing with electricity, making a "clack! clack!" sound as he pressed it directly onto Keli's patient gown under his jacket.

When he realized the taser had connected and Keli's body began to tremble, the man's expression relaxed. With a hint of ferocity, he raised his head, wanting to see the sight of this kid foaming at the mouth from their device, which was even more powerful than the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's stun guns.

However, as he raised his head, he unexpectedly met Keli's wide-open eyes, and the next moment, he saw Keli open his mouth.

"Bilibili! Cheers!"

When electrocuted, the human body's bioelectrical signals should make it impossible to control the body; muscles and nerves cannot move. Yet, the person in front of him, amidst the crackling sounds, actually raised his elbow and slammed it into the man's head in this situation.

"Bang!" Another person knelt down. Keli kicked away the person kneeling before him, shook his body, which felt numb and tingly, and looked at the one holding the flashlight and the one holding the steel pipe with a bewildered expression.

He unconsciously took a step back, the steel pipe in his hand nearly falling. A sense of fear crept into the man's heart.

Is… is that still a human?

This thought instantly appeared in the minds of the two men watching Keli's actions.

Not just them, even Kazuma, who was too cowardly to approach, stared blankly.

No, dude? Even if you can't die, doesn't that hurt?

Watching the two stunned men, Keli spread his legs and ran along the rocky riverbank.

His throat bobbed as he swallowed, fear overcoming reason at that moment. They turned and fled, abandoning all their intentions.

He's an expert! Everyone retreat quickly!

Keli originally intended to continue the pursuit, but then the wail of a police siren suddenly sounded in his ears.

The other group of people also seemed very surprised; upon hearing the sound, they nervously got into their car and left, not even bothering with their injured companions.

"Tsk! This isn't right. Since when could Japanese police arrive at the scene before an incident even happened?"

Keli clicked his tongue, surveyed his surroundings, and started running into the distance.

...

Half an hour later.

Keli washed his hands in the river and sighed, looking at his phone, which had lost its signal.

It must have been the kind person who gave him the phone who canceled his SIM card. Taking out the SIM card and throwing it into the river, Keli sat by the river, exhaling.

"Um, Keli, are you alright?" Kazuma, who had followed Keli here because he didn't understand the situation, couldn't help but ask, seeing Keli's calm demeanor.

"I'm fine." After washing off the blood, Keli looked back at Sato Kazuma.

Kazuma was just about to use this as an opening to continue asking about the supernatural events happening to him, but then Keli looked at him, slapped his thigh in distress, and exclaimed.

"Ah! In this kind of two-dimensional super-development, shouldn't my teammates be beautiful girls?

Not to mention the workhorses of the fanfiction world, Yukino Yukinoshita, Si Gong Kaguya, Sigu Jianzi, it should also be Teacher Omori, Nagasaki Soyo, Bochi-chan, and the like! Why is it you?!

If this were a light novel, I'd immediately say, 'No boys allowed!'"

Kazuma was stunned by Keli's words, then he also looked displeased.

"Hey, hey! What do you mean by that? Speaking of which, isn't Sigu Jianzi that famous beautiful girl from the class next to mine in middle school? Who are those other people?

And how can women compare to the friendship between men? When I read light novels, I get nauseous seeing those drawn-out, formulaic romance plots and all sorts of lucky pervert incidents!"

At this point, Sato Kazuma paused, seemingly recalling his past experiences, and then spoke again.

"I wanted to say!

I was about to become some chosen hero before! I was going to open a harem in another world! But then I was suddenly dragged back and roasted! And then I inexplicably appeared by your side! And you're still not happy about it?!"

BYD, you hate romance in two-dimensional works, but you can't cross over without a harem, right?

Hearing Kazuma say that, Keli wagged his finger.

"No, no, you should be grateful I saved you. There are many worlds out there scamming people now. Be careful of anything that tricks you into suffering in another world."

"Heh! What kind of talk is that? No matter what, it's another world!"

As a seasoned otaku, Sato Kazuma, who was actually a social recluse who dropped out of school to be a shut-in before he was scared to death, let out an unwilling roar.

"There are elves! Beastmen! All sorts of beautiful girls from different races, a paradise for us! As long as these elements are present, even if the beginning is a bit tough, it doesn't matter! Even if it's not a great world, I'd be happy! You say there are worlds that trick people into going, but even if you're tricked, you'd still be a hero, right?!"

At this time, Kazuma, who had not yet experienced life without electronics, air conditioning, and the grind of work, spoke grandiosely.

"Indeed, all those elements you mentioned are there, and you would indeed be a hero if you went." Kelinodded.

"Then what's there to be afraid of! You've deprived me of the chance to enjoy a second life!" Kazumaclenched his fists.

"I heard the Emperor is currently pretending to be a beautiful girl, tricking people from other worlds into Warhammer 40k to become Astartes."

Old-school otaku Sato Kazuma's scalp immediately tightened. He moved forward emotionally and patted Keli's shoulder.

"Thank you, Keli."
