"The car's arrived!" Rosemary's voice echoed through the living room, cutting through my racing thoughts.
My pulse quickened, hammering against my ribs. There would be no escape now.
The journey to the Gary mansion felt like a dream wrapped in anxiety and bubbling champagne. The vast grounds had been completely transformed, draped in cascading white roses and thousands of twinkling lights that made every pathway glow like something from a storybook.
"Oh my God," Denise gasped as our car approached the private entrance. "It's absolutely magical."
She wasn't wrong. The scene was breathtaking, refined yet romantic, precisely what I might have selected if this marriage were genuine.
Staff members guided us to an opulent bridal suite where I would remain until the ceremony began. Carson had orchestrated every single detail, from the perfectly chilled champagne waiting on ice to the fresh blooms that perfectly complemented my wedding bouquet.
