"I will kill you!"
Li Chen cursed in a very loud voice, his hands trembling. Certain footsteps came rushing in. He quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.
"I thought I heard voices, but the young master is obviously sleeping," one of the maids said.
"Let us check on him properly to find out if he is awake."
"If the young master is awake and he finds us peeping at him, we are going to be in big trouble," one of the maids spoke with shaky voice.
"Don't worry, let us also check if his bruises are still there."
They tiptoed slowly to his bed, glancing down at him.
"But the young master is obviously a weakling. Why did the master allow him to perform at the tournament between young masters, knowing that he could be defeated?" one of the maids spoke.
"Do you know that the master is not his father and that the young master's mother got pregnant when it was said that the master had fertility issues?" the other one spoke.
"Oh, so he is still mad with the young master's mother, that was why he decided to send the young master to the tournament? But he took in another woman first."
"Shush… don't let people hear you. In our world, the men are never at fault, only the women."
"But as the young master disgraced himself, it was the entire Li family that he disgraced. So the master is still battling with rage."
"I feel so bad for the young master, and the master did not allow them to give him any pill to aid his recovery."
They looked at him with pity. These maids were people without spiritual power and so could only be maids and nothing more.
"But the young master from the Tian family was wicked, look at the way he battered the young master's body. We can only hope that he regains consciousness soon."
They said and left the room.
Li Chen sat up from the bed. The information that he had just comprehended was too much for him to handle.
He worked as a medical doctor while on Earth and after taking on a major operation to save a particular crime boss that his own girlfriend begged him to save, saying that he was her friend. He remembered the surgery being successful, and when he had laid down to sleep, his girlfriend took a handkerchief and suffocated him to death.
His friend on Earth had warned him about his girlfriend, but love had blinded his eyes and caused him to make a terrible mistake. He shook his head, the pains reminding him that this was not a dream.
On waking up, he was pulled into the original owner of the body's memory.
The owner had said, "Please find out about my original father and become so powerful that they won't see you as a good-for-nothing and avenge me. I found out that I was poisoned; that was why nobody was able to discover it."
He had agreed easily, being given a chance in life again to live. The original owner of this body was not a fool like everyone thought, given that he knew he was poisoned, but he had to behave like a fool to live.
Then, he was flooded with memories that did not belong to him. He held his head, taking in all the memories.
The original owner of the body, Li Chen, was trash, whose mother cheated on his stepfather and was labelled as a curse.
His stepfather had brought in another woman to the house after marrying his mother a couple of months later, which provoked his mother into cheating.
His stepfather had forced him to go to the tournament to battle with the other youths due to his anger at the original owner's mother, and he was injured by the Tian family.
Tian family, he squinted his eyes. He would find a way to avenge his predecessor, but first, he needed to understand the world he was in.
According to the memory, he was in Yen Capital, a small city in Long Xuan Continent where the weak were trampled upon by the strong and where cultivation was superior to money like it was on Earth.
Cultivator was the unique name given to someone who possessed powers from the heavens. He was trash because when they tested him, he was unable to absorb Qi. Every cultivator was able to absorb Qi, and when they checked, there was nothing wrong with his body as they had assumed.
They all gave up on him. He was also unable to learn any skill, as most of the skills had to do with spiritual energy. The only skill was becoming a doctor; his brain could not process it.
Long xuan Continent was a very vast land, with numerous cities and hidden clans, but it was only in the lower realm. It had cursed lands, forbidden areas, demonic beasts, ancient ruins, and numerous mountains.
The cultivation world was divided into lower realm, middle realm, and the upper realm. The upper realm was a place where true immortals dwelled. It was not accessible to normal cultivators, and as soon as a cultivator transcended, he would be taken to the upper realm.
Other skills or occupations in the Long Xuan Continent were Alchemists—people that refined pills, Beast Tamer—the ones that tame animals, Archers—those that used spiritual power and bows and arrows to fight, and lastly, doctors.
Doctors were the least, as most cultivators consume pills when sick or injured from battles. Doctors were for non-cultivators.
He sighed deeply, biting his lips. The information was too much for him to bear. Doctors that were such a professional course while on Earth were reduced to nothing by these cultivators. He remembered when he was inducted as a doctor, the pride that spread through his body—it was as if he had become the president of the country.
"I am going to show them the benefits of having a good doctor," his eyes shone with confidence as he spoke.
