Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Olivia's point of view

My hands were trembling while staring at my phone, tears kept coming out of my eyes, and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. It was a picture of Ben and Nathalie, dating and kissing in public while I'm working so hard. I tried moving my hands, searching for Ben's name, and dialed his number, but my call went to voicemail.

He's not answering my calls. All I got was a text from him yesterday, telling me he'll be busy for two days attending meetings in Las Vegas. However, I received this anonymous message just now, telling me that my fiancé is in the city and having a public affair with my best friend. They seemed happy and I didn't want to overthink without hearing Ben's explanation, so I came to the hotel he was staying in without my knowledge.

I got out of my car, marched towards the hotel, and went to the receptionist who was already smiling at me sweetly. "Good afternoon, ma'am. Checking in?"

"Uh, no. I came to see Benjamin Davis," I replied.

"Mr. Davis? He's with his wife. Who are you, Miss? So I can let him know," she said.

My heart skipped when I heard what the receptionist had said. Wife? Benjamin is with his wife? But I am going to be his wife. I am his fiancée.

I swallowed, clenched my fist, and held myself back. I smiled forcedly and answered, "N-no need. You don't have to tell him because I want to surprise my brother…" I almost choked when that word slipped out of my mouth.

"Oh, of course."

"Can I know what room he was in? Perhaps, can I have a key to access his room if it's fine?"

She smiled but I could see the hesitation in her eyes. "Do you have an ID to prove your identity, ma'am? We are very strict when it comes to our visitors."

I looked around before moving closer to her and whispered, "Look, I don't have time chitchatting with you. I need the key card in his room and if you don't give it to me, I will report you to my brother and make your hotel go out of business. Is that what you want?"

She shook her head, "No, ma'am."

"Then give it to me."

The receptionist handed me the key card immediately, so I took it before smiling. I glanced at the key card, seeing the room number and what floor it was on made my heart race. I approach the elevator and press the sixth floor, where Ben's room is. As the elevator moved up, my heart kept beating faster until I reached the floor.

My stiletto made a sound on the glass floor as I walked to the hallway, moving my eyes around until I spotted the room. I moved my trembling hands, swiped the key card, and heard the unlock sound. My heart pounds faster as I enter, feeling it crash while praying the photo was a joke. The fully furnished hotel didn't catch my interest, I was drawn to the sound coming from the bedroom.

The ajar door fuels my interest and pain, especially since that faint moan becomes louder. I stood at the door, watching in horror at the event that was happening before me. My tears fell instantly, and I couldn't beat the pain that was striking my heart. Their moans are like annoying music, making my eardrums explode. It was like they were on their honeymoon, feeling every inch of their body and getting carried away by the sensation they were feeling. My heart breaks into pieces, and I can no longer watch this.

"How dare you!" I shouted, making them stop their intimacy.

Ben separates from her, covering his body, while Nathalie doesn't seem bothered by her exposed body. "Olivia, it's not what it looks like."

"Then what, huh? That you accidentally slipped your manhood inside her and felt aroused, Ben? You are cheating to me! For how long?!"

"No, Olivia. You are wrong—"

"One year," Nathalie interfered.

I furrowed, "One year yet you manage to hide it from me?"

She smirked, "Of course, Olivia. Because you are too foolish to see the truth, and it was your fault."

Nathalie showed me her ring and stated, "Also, I want to apologize for not inviting you to our wedding."

My eyes widened in pain after she proved the receptionist's words. She is his wife. My best friend stole my fiancé like a leech!

"You! I treated you like my real sister!" I ran towards her, trying to reach the bed when Ben stopped me. "Let go of me!"

"Olivia, enough! You have to listen to me!"

I slapped him as hard as I could, "I will not listen to you, Ben! You lie to me! You said you would marry me, but it turns out you married someone else! There are a thousand women in this world yet you choose my best friend! Why?! Why did you hurt me like this, Ben?!"

"Please, Olivia. You have to calm down," he said.

I scoffed, "Calm down?! How the hell am I going to do that, Ben? How?! I devoted my life to you. I love you despite your flaws, and help you reach your dreams yet this is what I get after all the sacrifices I've made? How could you hurt me like this! I don't deserve this!"

"I'm sorry, Olivia…"

"Your sorry can't heal the wound you did to me, Ben."

"Perhaps it's time for your ex-fiance to know the truth of the marriage, Ben. Besides, we love each other and you've been trying to break up with her. Right, babe?" Nathalie stood to his side, not covering her body at all.

"What does she mean, Ben?"

Benjamin exhaled deeply, "I should've told you years ago, Olivia."

"Told me what?" I questioned.

"I wanted to call off the wedding plans three months ago, Olivia. I had an affair with Nathalie for one year and thought you deserved better, but you always find a way to cut me off. You are always busy, have no time for me, and would rather spend the night in your office than go home. I don't deserve that. Nathalie gave me my needs, loved me, and gave me the time I needed."

"So it was my fault working so hard for our future, Ben?" I inquired.

"Look, I am already married. There's no need for us to continue this relationship," he announced.

"No, Ben. I love you!" I held his hand, begging him not to choose Nathalie over me. "I will forget everything, just don't choose her over me…"

Ben took his hand away and sighed, "I'm sorry, Olivia. I can't leave her."

"Why?! Why can't you choose me over her, Ben? Why?" I raised my voice.

"Because Nathalie is pregnant with my child, Olivia. That's why I married her," he stated.
