Chapter 2 - First Transmigration

After gaining his Psychic Power, Emiya didn't immediately transmigrate.

Instead, he spent a few days familiarizing himself with his superpowers, because he didn't know what dangers he might encounter after transmigrating.

So, he had to get used to his superpowers before going.

First, Language Comprehension was no problem. After gaining this superpower, Emiya could understand what people in movies and shows were saying without needing to read subtitles.

Japanese, English, Hindi, Italian, Latin, German, French, Russian... no language was a challenge for Emiya.

Not only could he understand them, but he could also speak them fluently.

With this ability, he could easily call himself a language expert who knew hundreds of languages. There wasn't a single language on Earth that he couldn't read or write. He could even read and write oracle bone script.

Next, there was Psychic Power. The Psychic Power gained with 10 energy points wasn't enough for him to crush the world, but it was enough to crush ordinary people.

Psychic Power was a very versatile ability that could be used for both offense and defense, and it was quite effective. This was one of the reasons why Emiya chose it.

After a few experiments, Emiya found that if he released all his psychic power at once, he could lift 10 tons of weight for about 10 minutes, after which his power would be depleted.

The consequences of a depleted psychic power would be a cloudy mind, a dark field of vision, or even fainting on the spot. So after trying it once, Emiya never overworked his psychic power again.

In addition, Emiya also tried to develop more uses for his psychic power, such as splitting it into several invisible hands to help him with housework, moving things, and cleaning.

At first, Emiya could only split his psychic power into two hands, but after a few days of practice, he became more skilled and could now create four hands.

As he continued to refine his control, he believed he could create even more psychic hands in the future.

Besides the psychic hands, Emiya also developed techniques like Psychic Knife, Psychic Shield, and Psychic Bullet. In simple terms, this was just turning psychic power into different shapes.

For example, a Psychic Knife was an invisible blade made of psychic power that he could throw at an enemy.

Emiya tried it a few times and found that the power was not bad. If it was fast enough, it could easily cut a piece of wood in half and even leave a few centimeters of an indentation in steel.

This kind of power was more than enough to cut through flesh.

A Psychic Shield was turning psychic power into a shield. Emiya hadn't tried to see if it could stop a bullet, because before he gained his superpower, he was just an ordinary person who had only seen guns on TV.

However, Emiya had secretly conducted an experiment and found that a car traveling at 70 miles per hour was not enough to break his Psychic Shield.

As for how he conducted the experiment, that's a secret.

A Psychic Bullet was compressing psychic power into a bullet and shooting it out at a very high speed.

At first, he could only knock over a few soda bottles, but as he became more skilled, the power gradually increased.

Now, he could at least hold his own against an ordinary person.

These techniques seemed flashy, but they were really just applications of psychic power, and they weren't too difficult to develop.

It took Emiya more than two weeks to get a solid grasp of his two superpowers.

And that left him with his last superpower... transmigration.

This ability would take him to another world once it was activated, so Emiya had not used it yet, because he wasn't prepared. But after two weeks of practice, Emiya had mastered Language Comprehension and Psychic Power, so he began to feel antsy and wanted to transmigrate.

Finally, this morning, Emiya decided to try it. Before transmigrating, he activated his superpower, using psychic power to form a sphere around himself. Then, he activated his other superpower.

Transmigrate!

The next second, Emiya's vision blurred, and he felt a weightless sensation as he started to fall, landing with a splash in water.

But because of the psychic sphere, the surrounding water was pushed away. Emiya's clothes were not wet at all, and he was completely dry from head to toe.

When he looked around, he found that he had transmigrated into a small bathroom.

He had landed in a rectangular bathtub, and half of the bathwater was squeezed out of the tub by the psychic sphere.

Luckily, the tub was empty. This made Emiya sigh in relief. At least he didn't land on anyone or accidentally see a bathing girl naked.

I guess I'm not the protagonist. Emiya thought to himself.

But just as Emiya was getting out of the bathtub, the bathroom door was pulled open, and a boy with a towel wrapped around his waist came in from outside. In an instant, their eyes met, and they both stared at each other.

Luckily, the boy had a towel on, so Emiya didn't see anything cringe-worthy.

But then again, the boy had a handsome and delicate face, a slightly golden-brown hair color, and a brownish, cat-like eye. He looked familiar.

What surprised Emiya even more was that the boy didn't panic or scream when he saw him. He seemed to be used to strange things suddenly appearing before him, and he looked completely calm.

After a few seconds of silence, the boy spoke in a charming, magnetic, low, and calm voice, "I don't know who you are, but could you please come back after I've finished my bath? I'll return your name to you."

My name? Return my name to me?

Emiya was stunned for a moment, and then he looked at the boy's delicate face and suddenly understood. He asked tentatively, "Natsume Takashi?"

A look of surprise appeared on the boy's face. In the past, yokai would always mistake him for his grandmother, Reiko Natsume. He didn't expect this yokai to recognize him by his real name. This was a bit of a surprise, but he still nodded.

"That's right, it's me."

Emiya couldn't help but laugh. No wonder the boy looked so familiar. It was Natsume Takashi. He looked a little different going from 2D to 3D, so it was no wonder Emiya didn't recognize him at first.

"You've got the wrong person. I'm not a yokai, and I'm not here for your name. I'm a human, a genuine human."

This explanation surprised Natsume even more. "A human?"

"That's right."

"Why are you in the bathroom?"

"Uh... would you believe me if I said it was an accident?"

Emiya was helpless. In fact, he wasn't lying. Before he transmigrated, Emiya's destination wasn't the world of Natsume's Book of Friends.

It was the world of Toriko. The reason he chose that world was for one thing: the gourmet cells from Toriko.

Although Emiya had psychic power, it wasn't enough to protect him in some of the more high-level worlds, so Emiya set his sights on the gourmet cells.

When gourmet cells were implanted into a human body, the cells would become activated.

A human's life could evolve after enjoying gourmet food, and at the same time, their power would become far superior to that of an ordinary human, surpassing the limits of human beings.

More importantly, gourmet cells didn't require cultivation; they could be strengthened just by eating food. For a lazy person like Emiya, this was a perfect fit.

In addition, besides the gourmet cells, the world of Toriko also had all kinds of gourmet food, like jewel meat, century soup, rainbow fruit, and BB popcorn. Just reading the descriptions made Emiya, who came from a country of foodies, drool.

But the result was not what he expected. He was aiming for the world of Toriko, but he ended up in the world of Natsume's Book of Friends.

From this, Emiya found a weakness in his transmigration ability. Although this superpower could take him to other worlds, it didn't seem to be able to accurately take him to the world he wanted to go to. Instead, it was random.

Ugh, that's a bummer.

Emiya rubbed his temples. It looks like I forgot to set that when I created this superpower, so now I can't go to the world I want to go to.

Natsume Takashi saw the troubled look on Emiya's face and began to believe what Emiya was saying.

He could tell that Emiya didn't look like he was lying.

Maybe because of his childhood, he had developed a skill for reading people, and he was somewhat confident in his own judgment.

"Okay, I believe you have your own reasons. But if it's convenient, could you please leave?"

Natsume said. If it were anywhere else, he would be more than willing to listen to the other person's problems. He might even lend a helping hand to see if he could help in any way.

After all, the person seemed to be in distress.

But the problem was that this was a bathroom, and his current attire was not suitable for a long talk.

"Alright," Emiya said. He also realized that the current setting was not ideal for a long talk with Natsume Takashi.

After all, the scene had a certain philosophical quality to it. So he nodded, activated his superpower, and instantly returned to his own world.

Emiya realized that his superpower could only randomly take him to a new world, but he could freely go back and forth between worlds he had already been to.

In other words, as long as Emiya wanted to, he could go back to the world of Natsume's Book of Friends in the next second.
