The Second Division shinigami stood frozen.
Before coming here, he thought he'd seen it all.
But now?
This scene—he truly had never witnessed anything like it.
A shinigami of Seireitei captured, paraded as a toy in front of everyone.
If word of this reached Seireitei, it would shake the entire Soul Society to its core.
Still, his centuries of experience whispered something was off. His expression hardened.
"To assault a shinigami of Seireitei is a capital crime punishable by execution. Do you admit to stealing Kuchiki Rukia's powers?"
"That's right!"
Ignoring Rukia's frantic struggles, Cole declared it without hesitation.
"Then there's no choice…"
The man's gaze went cold as his hand closed around his zanpakuto's hilt.
"If she had willingly given you her reiryoku, I would not act. But if a human forcibly—"
"You? A mere shinigami daring to draw your blade against me?"
Cole cut him off, sneering with arrogant disdain.
"…What?"
The Second Division shinigami faltered. This so-called human shinigami was far too bold.
Could he… have a background?
The man tested cautiously. "Do you belong to some organization?"
"Of course."
"What organization?"
"Urahara Shop."
"…."
On the distant rooftop—
Tessai frowned toward Urahara. "Shopkeeper… could this boy know your true identity?"
Urahara stiffened. "Impossible. Even Ichigo doesn't know his father's past. How would he?"
Jinta snorted. "This brat's too cocky. You'd think he was a captain from the way he talks."
Yoruichi's feline voice was uncharacteristically sharp. "He's bluffing. He has to be."
…
"Have you heard the name… Urahara Kisuke?"
Cole's voice rang out coldly.
Urahara: "???"
Tessai: "???"
Yoruichi: "???"
Jinta: "???"
Ururu: "???"
The Second Division shinigami sucked in a sharp breath, knuckles whitening on his sword.
"Urahara Kisuke!!"
Of course he knew.
The former Twelfth Division Captain. The brilliant, terrifying mind once in charge of the Research and Development Institute. Even Kurotsuchi Mayuri had been his subordinate and defeated rival.
But that genius had been exiled for forbidden experiments, fleeing Seireitei with several captains at his side.
And yet, even branded a traitor, he still lived openly in the World of the Living.
A man so dangerous, the laws of Soul Society bent around him.
"…Don't tell me…"
The man's eyes went wide as he stared at Cole.
"You're… Urahara's son—?"
"That's right!"
Cole straightened proudly. "I'm his disciple. His most trusted confidant."
Urahara nearly dropped his cane. His face darkened, and he lunged forward furiously.
"I'M GOING TO KILL THAT LYING BRAT!"
"Shopkeeper, calm down! Calm down!!" Tessai clung to him desperately.
Urahara Shop existed in a delicate gray zone. Everyone in Soul Society knew Urahara ran it—but so long as they didn't flaunt it, no one dared move.
If he appeared openly before a Second Division enforcer, that would be outright provocation. Even Yamamoto himself might intervene.
"…Never thought it would be Urahara…"
The Second Division man wiped sweat from his brow. He was just a minor officer.
And now standing before him was someone claiming ties to a man who could make all of Seireitei shift policy.
"Not only Urahara," Cole continued smoothly. "Have you heard of Tessai, Jinta, and Ururu?"
The man swallowed. "I've never heard of Jinta or Ururu… but Tessai—do you mean the Grand Kido Chief?"
"Exactly!" Cole thumped his chest. "I'm his disciple too. He said I'm a once-in-a-millennium prodigy in kidō. He's teaching me everything he knows."
The man gasped audibly.
"Even Tessai-sama!?"
"Shopkeeper, let me at him! He's dragging my name through the mud!!" Tessai roared, trembling with rage.
Now it was Urahara restraining him. "Tessai, don't! If either of us show our faces, it'll be chaos."
Tessai's voice cracked with fury. "But if that brat goes to Soul Society and can't cast a single spell, my entire reputation—!!"
Jinta scowled, hefting his bat. "And what about me? He didn't even mention me properly!"
Ururu blinked innocently.
Meanwhile, Yoruichi—still in cat form—shifted uneasily. A bad feeling crawled up her spine.
That brat wouldn't dare…
"Have you heard… the name Yoruichi?"
Cole's voice boomed.
The Second Division shinigami froze, eyes bulging as he stumbled back two steps.
"Y-you don't mean… that great one!?"
"Shihoin Yoruichi!"
"That's right!!"
Cole's fist thumped his chest again.
The man trembled. "You—you're her disciple too!?"
"Not exactly…"
Relief flickered over the shinigami's face—only for Cole's next words to hammer him senseless.
"I'm her man."
"Cough! Cough! Cough!!"
The Second Division shinigami nearly choked to death.
"Meow!!!!"
From afar came a furious screech.
The little black cat writhed violently in Ururu's arms, eyes blazing with wrath as she glared at Cole.
"Meow!!!!"
"I'LL KILL THAT HUMAN!!!"
